  Guys, I’m PRETTY SURE HE’S SUING FOR THE MONEY THAT HE HAS GIVEN HER FOR CHILD SUPPORT, ALONG WITH CUSTODY OF THE CHILD.
  If he was suing her for 9.2 million on her own salary, this would be thrown out of court due to the outrageous difference in money he’s suing for compared to what she makes being a cheerleader.
  So relax.
  I’m with Hangtime on this. I’m happy to see Dwight manning up and trying to raise his child.

  After having read the remarks, it’s hard to see how they are “disparaging” Dwight Howard. If the statements are facts (D12 does not show for visitation, he hit a lady, he has another baby-mama in ATL, etc.), then I’m not sure Howard will win this case. The only clearly disparaging remark was that “the new girl is trash”; however, that statement is not a remark about Dwight Howard. It is a remark about a third-party. It would not surprise me to hear about this suit for $9.2 million being tossed.

  First of all! If you’re going to make a comment, know the facts. First went to court in October remarks being made on multiple media outlet by Reed. The clincher was being called a deadbeat dad. He to more offense to that remark than any other. Deadbeats don’t give you nearly 25G’s a month in support. Secondly the courts ordered Reed not to Even speak his name publicly, as well as in print. She blatantly defied that order on Twitter as well as her blog. In listed her friends to help her do so. This man makes nearly half of his salary from endorsements. Why would a woman who has his ONLY child, want to put that in jeopardy ? So it’s ok to bash the father publicy, where someday done the line the child that she claims to love and care about might read it. But it’s not ok for him to fight back. Private matter should remain just that, private! Reed put their business out there in the street. He has every right to defind his name.

  Unfortunately, Jukai. In the states, the civil justice system doesn’t take into account ability to pay damages. Therefore cases don’t get thrown out due to outrageous claims of damages. There was a case that was actually heard when a Judge sued a laundry company for wrecking/showing his underwear for 20M+ .

  Ronald: Actually, it does. Judges throw out some outrageous claims ALL the time. You think a judge would hear a multi million dollar athlete suing a cheerleader for nine million dollars because of defamation, even in a breach of contract? No way. This is over money Dwight gave her.
  There are cases for everything. When a JUDGE wants to sue someone, then they are going to sue someone, no matter how ridiculous.

That’s cool, but it seems like the rest of your post is way off. A court does not have the power to enjoin someone from uttering or typing any single word. That would be unconstitutional. In addition, the article does not say anything about Ms. Reed saying D12 was a deadbeat. It only says that he has skipped some visitations. If you can link to other proof that supports your claims, we would be happy to see it.

  Ms Reed on her twitter page did in fact call Mr. Howard a deadbeat dad amongst other things in the first week of October 2009 which was the reason for Mr. Howard suing Ms. Reed in the first place. An apparently you don’t know what a court can or cannot do, because I defy you to find one article, video or anyother news source that Ms. Reed spoke his name publicly since that time. Mr Howard makes more than half of his income based on his public image. You need to check out his lawsuit against Ms. Reed. Page 2 item 11 cleary states that on October 28 2009 Ms. Reed signed an agreement barring her from saying his name, nickname, directly or indirectly in public or in print from that date forward. Therefore you should check court records before you say what can or can’t be done.
