Knee Keeps Iverson Out of Tonight’s Game

A.I. will not suit up for the Sixers in Beantown tonight due to injuries: “Allen Iverson did not make the trip to Boston with the team for tonight’s game against the Celtics, because of a troublesome left knee that was drained twice this week. The team said on its injury report he has arthritis in the knee. Iverson also suffered a bruised left shoulder in Wednesday’s loss to Cleveland.”

    His body has taken a lot of abuse over the years. Arthritis in the knee can only be treated but not really ‘cured’ so it will impact him for the rest of his career. If he wasn’t starting and getting decent time, people would say that he was just ‘making up an injury’ like he was accused of doing in Detroit. Nobody can defy age/and the kind of abuse he’s taken forever.

    It was only a matter of time before AI’s body started to break down, youth only lasts so long. He has to to take better care of himself or he’s done for real.

    I don’t blame him for wanting to sit this one out. Dude already has an arthritic knee & bruised shoulder. The last thing he needs is a serious case of whiplash from watching Rondo blaze past him for easy buckets.
