  Whens the Nugs were tipped as his first game last friday it seemed too poignant to be true. At least AI is going to be back in the game, I’d personally sack EJ to sort out this slide, although I can’t imagine who’d want to take over. @Bryan, co sign. But really, any decent true point and that team is top 6 eastern easily. Lou is still young but after 5yrs he looks like he is in the Jason Terry, Leandro Barbosa 6th man potent scorer mould not an operator or facilitator.

  @Taisen, EJ seems to dislike rookies, he did in Wash and he does now. Jrue is playin more mins since Lou’s injury but he was more effective in less mins when he was doin his own thing. He doesn’t suck at all though, aside from some poor decision (which will improve anyway) his only flaw seems to be that he is just inconsistent like most young guns

  I wouldn’t go so far as to predict the playoffs for these guys. It’s not a video game. But they’re definitely a group that could go all the way or bottom out fast. It will be mucho fun to watch what happens. And despite all my criticism of AI, I have maintained that I think the guy can still play at a high level. I hope he finishes out his career in Philly with minimal drama, many points, and a jersey retirement ceremony at the end of it all.

  Alright don’t bash JE, it is nice to hear someone think Philly have 50 wins in them lol. I’d say it’s not going to near 50 wins because (aside from Jordan being a tool) it is too much of an experiment to really say how it is going to go. But saying the record we have now is evidence for 50 wins being silly isn’t really fair, albeit may sound logical. A couple of years back we were almost sunk by February AS break, then afterwards for no reason except changing style of play, we vastly improved. If those 35 or whatever games post-AS were the season, we would have been top of the L, if it wasn’t for a 3 game skid or whatever in the last couple of games when playoffs were guaranteed. We finished by falling into 7th with a .500ish record. My point, there aren’t too many things you should write off in the NBA season, or in most sports.

They fininshed the first round of the championship on top but the could not hold on till the end….Berry finished the year averaging 30 points and over 13 rebounds ,he was simply unstopable, next year he came to OSFP…i remember the game the won against Panathinaikos at Ivanofeio…KOLASI!!!!

  If Iverson signs with the 76ers, they are a playoff team. Maybe not a high seeded one but I do think this is the perfect fit. He can start at pg for now if not permanently and if the 76ers want to play small ball they can move iggy to the 3 and put iverson at the 2. I m positive they would play him in the clutch and he’d get 30 mins perfect fit! Everyone just remember the Kid in him. Remember the Crossovers on Jordan and Lue, Remember the put back slams over entire teams. Remember the clutch shots and the way he danced around the Lakers. Now of course he s getting old but he can still do it for a team that desperately needs scoring. I saw flashes of it in Memphis and im very excited to watch him play

  @Gaber…..:i didn’t watch that game although i knew what was coming….i watched the big game on Sunday though against Panathinaikos. Having so many NBA players is making our team predictably vulnerable when the game gets serious and the defences suffocating. Wafer is already witnessing games from the stands, he ain’t fined or on probation, he is simply unable to grasp the European game (no mistakes, 100% concentration at every possesion, complicated offensive schemes etc.). I had said since the beggining that there are 3 levels of teams this year in Europe , first Panathinaikos and Barcelona, then Olympiakos and Real Madrid, and then Siena, CSKA. I don’t see anybody else except this 6 teams making it to the final-4. Actually the first 2 teams along with Real are almost locks. This leaves a spot open that i hope we are going to get basically because we got some players that are extremely talented for the European level. On paper (something like fantasy ball that my kids here love) Olympiakos has the most talented team (along with Panathinaikos) in Europe. My prediction for this year winner is one of the 2 top teams, Panathinaikos and Barcelona. Since the (Spanish)organisers don’t like the idea of Greek teams dominating the European game.I can agree with them business wise, Greece is a small country and the market is already saturated since everybody in Greece is crazy about basketball(we got the country with the most people playing organised bball in the world by a wide margin, always talking as a percentage of the total population) .I don’t agree with them trying to do what they attempted in last years Euroleague final and many times in the past. Anyway, it will propably be either Panathinaikos(again…)or Barcelona. You are not correct that Olympiakos has many NBA players, we just have 2 big names(JOsh and WAFER) and the rest of the team is full with the cream of world basketball(Papaloukas,Vasilopoulos,Schortsianitis, Kleiza, Bourousis, Teodosic).

The 6ers contract only arose because since then we’d lost another 3games and the only player who can cope consistently with more than 20+mins at 1 is out for a couple of months. It got so much publicity because, quite simply, it’s AI. If the woeful Knicks reject you, whilst the pathetic and hapless Nets and Minny act as if you do not even exist, on top of being shunned for a currently toothless PG in Conley at Grizz, all after the career AI has had you’d probably think retirement has been forced upon you as well. Give the guy a break, no doubt he hoped he thought somebody was going to read it and think “We need to sign him up”. However, wouldn’t you if you thought you had years of top class basketball left in you? Oh @Spanny can you give me a round up of this weeks Euroleague games and goings on? It enthralls me!

  Being the starter doesn’t automatically mean you’re better than your backup. You think Ginobili is the 6th best player on the Spurs? Is Keith Bogans better than him? Nope, that’s just balancing your player rotation.

  Mayo-Gay-Randolph take a LOT of shots. To play Gasol and Conley along with them makes perfect sense, and in the second unit, Iverson can play his game to keep the offense competitive.

  @TAD I reckon Young will surpass Iggy in his career, but dude got ways to go before that. Iggy is the only other player I can think of alongside Lebron who consistently gets close to grabbing a tripdub every other game. Dude has gone 18/8/9 or similar in over half the games this season, if that all round performance doesn’t deserve to be relatively central to a teams plan then I don’t know what does. No doubt he shouldn’t be our primary scorer, his J is standard and a standard J isn’t going to light it up when you need that extra kick. AI solves that problem and I suspect Iggy will enjoy working off the ball more; he’s been willing to step up and do what’s been partly asked/partly expected of him over last couple of years but it’s obvious he shouldn’t be #1 scorer and he probably knows that. You ball? Coach gives you responsibility, you got confidence, you’ll do whatever is asked of. It’s probably a similar situation all though the transition from being ‘top dog’ to second fiddle is going to be instant, it will take time to adjust but Iggy droppin to #2 option should work well. Jordan just needs to figure out what to do with that team instead trying to get them to do his thing.

  deserves then you know he’ll perform his
  warriors heart out. And it’s a win-win
  situation for all. PHILA get the cheapest
  high-volume scorer the league has seen
  (since Flip Murray blew up in Seattle years
  ago) and AI gets a REAL opportunity to add
  to his legacy - in his NBA roots to boot!!

  Wayno, did you not notice how Memphis “conveniently” starting holding Conley accountable right after Iverson left the team? Marcus Williams got 31 minutes THE VERY NEXT GAME (which is more than AI got in any of his 3 games), and within 2 week, Tinsley was playing ALL the clutch minutes. Did the Grizz finally figure out that Conley hasn’t earned consistent minutes once AI left? I doubt it. AI handled it wrong-no doubt-but Hollins’ stonewalling of the rotation certainly contributed to the situation much more than 1%. The owner wanted him there-and the coach didn’t. period.

  @ball4life get up to date mate. Around a 1/3 of the L have full roster. Another 1/3 don’t -need- AI. The final 1/3 don’t -want- AI. He didn’t exactly have a plethora of options open to him.

  Yeah, i’m not gonna get all wet just yet. So he’s got some numbers and he can play no doubt, but not since 2k2/3 have the Sixers been a force. On paper it looks good, but AI got bad habits. Hardcore Philly fans I’m happy for ya but don’t get upset if don’t pan out yeah. He ain’t stepped out on court yet an already Philly are being tipped as play-off material? Lets see a few games before we praise the ‘new’ mesiah
