Mark Cuban Promising a Huge ASW Party

Cubes says his All-Star Weekend bash will be the one all other bashes will be measured against going forward: “It literally could be the largest party weekend in the history of the United States,’ he said. ‘That’s how big this thing has gotten.’ The All-Star Game and its festivities will take over the Dallas area in a few weeks. The game itself is Sunday, February 14, 2010 at the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, where a crowd of close to 100,000 is expected. Cuban says All-Star Weekend might be bigger than the Super Bowl in a way. ‘The Super Bowl, from a television perspective, is the biggest event of the year. But for attendance and partying, All-Star Weekend will make the Super Bowl look like a bar mitzvah.”‘

once MLSE finishes Maple Leaf Square I hope Toronto can measure up to these sorts of festivities if Toronto ever gets the oppurtunity to host the ASG…would be nice….Mr. Stern? u heard?

I had a choice of going to Mardi Gras in New Orleans or the ASG in Dallas. I chose Mardi Gras, and with the Saints making the superbowl, that just did it for me. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if I ended up in Dallas too.

on a side note – Buschfire, have you seen our stadium here in Texas? Don’t for a minute think that MLSE has any chance of competing with our events.

  • Buschfire

HAHA – I agree, everything is bigger in Texas, I know the stadium is massive. I’m sure the event is going to be insane in Dallas without a doubt. I was talking about more of the ancillery services that MLSE is creating for the Air Canada Center and Toronto…as long as we can compare or compete in some aspects, now bigger isn’t always better… I just hope that the NBA notices all the things that MLSE is doing so that one day we may be able to hold such a great event in our great city!

I got a loft in downtown Dallas and believe me..This is going to be out of control for the whole DFW area…Lebron is having a party with DRAKE at AM/PM lounge on FRIDAY and there asking for 200 to get in..P diddy will be at Sting Sat and Beamers Friday…CRAZY!!!

yeha I Toronto gets some love for the next All Star Game, cuz we never had it and it would be good exposure to have a game outside the US like Stern wants and its in NA so you wil get in audience its, a safe risk

The party may be huge, but it still won’t top Apollo Creed’s entrance into the ring in Rocky 4. That motherf*cker had JAMES BROWN. And a top hat!!!!

Carl Weathers might even be in Texas, who knows, but I’d have him at my party! Best moustache in Hollywood, hands down.

    “Livin’ in America!!”

“This is supposed to be an EXHIBITION!!”

Check out this party.. If Dallas isn’t party central, I don’t know what is!!!

The event: the “Everything’s Bigger in Texas” Celebrity NBA All Star Weekend Party.

Can we please stop saying that? Stop using it for party themes? Stop mentioning it in advertising materials and so on? Please. I don’t ask much. Five or six good cups of coffee a day and fewer bad drivers. And this. I mean, we, as Texans, battle enough stereotypes as is. It’s an uphill climb. If not for that reason, then how about this one: it’s overused. It means nothing anymore. It does not make your event or your blog post or your campaign or anything special. So knock it off. Oh, and the release for the shindig follows.
