McDyess’ Turn to Question Billups’ Trade

And why not? Everyone else has, too: “In the throes of a painful rebuilding process that began the day Chauncey Billups was dealt to Denver, the Pistons are mired in a 10-game losing streak, their longest since dropping 13 straight during the 1993-94 campaign. ‘It’s sad,’ said McDyess, who nevertheless will be rooting for Detroit to extend that streak tonight. ‘It’s sad to see those guys go through that. Nobody wants to be on that end of it, losing (10) games in a row.’ With the Billups deal, McDyess said, Detroit ‘broke up all chemistry. I really didn’t understand the logic of that trade,’ he said. ‘I guess they were in a rebuilding stage, and it’s showing now.’ Asked if he would still be in Detroit if Billups were still there, McDyess said, ‘I think I would.”’

I went to the pistons vs. Bulls on new years eve; needless to say they are in a sad state with basically no excitement or energy in the stadium( i went to watch drose). “fans” headed out early and its not like it used to be….

I question McDyess, dude’s been a dud in San Antonio

While the Pistons know everything about team chemistry (the primairy reason why they beat the Shaq-Kobe-Mailman-Glove Lakers), Joe Dumars also knows how to spoil it!

I was at the Pistons Knicks game on the 29th…it was the first professional sporting event I have ever left before the game was done. They were playing uninspired, boring, and lazy basketball. What happened to the team that was energized and beat teams like Denver earlier this season? They are capable of competing, but they’ve just been lazy. I really don’t know what’s up with them.

when you pay $100M for 2 bench players, you’ve got a problem. i’m guessing dumars had another trade lined up for tayshaun, but that fell through so now they’re stuck. but hey they’ve got kwame brown!

excuses excuses all of the pistons are getting old and can’t play like they used to except Big Shot and Rasheed

DMA – Exactly. If you’re stupid enough to throw down that kind of money for two bench players – as unfortunate as it is for the players – the organization deserves to lose. I have absolutely no clue what DET was thinking.

Joe Dumars destroyed my pistons, that one trade is gonna affect the Pistons for the next 10 years

  • underdog

Somebody should tell Joe Dumars to sign a pass-first PG, if he wants to rebuild the Pistons. And free Rip&Tay.

as Kenny Smith said,” 1 player broke a championship squad”..He was talking about Rodney Stuckey, sometimes having a breakout year isn’t that good after all.

If they traded Rodney for A.I the Big Shot – Answer tandem could have been sick..

I Bet Dyess Had Fun Getting Swept By Cleveland Last Season. No Way Is That Better Than A Potential Trip To The Finals With The Nuggets. No Way. And Now He’s With A Dead Spurs Team. Good Call On That Buyout After The Trade To Denver, Dyess.

stuckey didn’t really even break out. he had quite a few good games but as history has shown, he can’t really run a lottery team, let alone a championship team.

Although Dyess is right on an emotional level, business is business and that Pistons team had to be broken up some how. Maybe moving Chauncey wasn’t the best, but they were old and failed year after year to get back to the finals. Nobody likes change, but it’s inevitable. Unless you’re the Jerry Sloan.

Weren’t the Pistons were playing like crap last year too? Thats why they traded Billups in the first place. Plus, not taking anything away from Mr. Big Shot, but i dont think they’ve been the same since Ben Wallace left Detroit for Chicago. Now HE was the heart of that team, although Billups was money in the clutch. McDyess was a very serviceable replacement, but Big Ben was the MAN five, six years ago.

I think they are rebuilding for the future… one can hope

dude john wall is sick. if i was dumars i would go with the smallest line up in the history of small ball and play stuckey bynum bg, trade for lil nate dawg, and see if boykins is on da block to get him. If a 5’5 center can’t get u john wall, i don’t know what can. (maybe playin in jersey…)
