Phil Jackson, Still Making Fun of San Antonio

Jackson got in his usual digs prior to the game last night, but it was the Spurs who got the last laugh: “Before Tuesday night’s game between the Lakers and Spurs, Jackson was asked if he had run out of things to do while visiting San Antonio. ‘I took a walk on the beautiful River Walk last night. There’s just some puddles here and there,’ Jackson said. ‘This morning, the ducks were still out playing in the puddles, so it was kind of quaint. I understand they clean it up this time of the year, get in there and dredge it a little bit. There wasn’t much beauty in San Antonio this trip.”‘

    Best rivalry in the NBA.

  • Statik

“There wasn’t much beauty in San Antonio this trip.” Of course not, especially when you get blown out and have your superstar leave with back spasms while TP and Hill outwork your guards all over the floor. That just might have been a two-faced dig for the city and his squad

  • Jeronimo

This is an affront! Greg Popovich should pull out four guns and tell Phil Jackson to pick one.

  • BK All Day

Too bad his team played like a bunch of ducks last night. Maybe he should focus on cleaning that team up because for being the “best” team in the league they sure do look very beatable this year.

  • ball4life

If kobe wasnt injured they would have won last night. But i dont think they should have traded Trevor Ariza… he was a good fit for L.A

  • ball4life

@Mo Charlo. how is this the best rivalry in the NBA??? WTF… your a retard. LOL

  • ball4life

@Mo Charlo. how is this the best rivalry in the NBA? wtf… you are a retard

That 2-on-1 Brown/Farmar fast break fail was hilarious.

  • http://theghostofroyhobbs.blogspot.com Mo Charlo

They’ve been the juggernauts for more than a decade, and always play each other tough. Throw in the two best coaches who always give great soundbites like this. Wait, why am I responding to ball4life?

  • ball4life

Lakers and Celtics…thats the best rivalry..or even L.A and cleveland

  • ball4life

    @Anton your are gay! STFU

As a Spurs fan I like it when Phil gets his little digs in. It makes victory that much sweeter. I might have felt sorry for the Lakers last night, with all their bad-luck injuries, but Phil just makes me gloat. :)

i don’t even get what Phil was trying to insult.

  • Teddy-the-Bear

    LA and Cleveland isn’t a rivalry…

  • Tower

Teddy-the-bear@… Not Yet.. How could they be.. Tell me have they ever played any playoff game against each other, beefed at each other anything. They are just two great teams that respect one another.
The warrios vs nets, east, west madness is classic though.. . . . ..

  • LA Huey

LA v. Cleveland is not a rivalry, it’s a good show. Now, Blitzen v. Kobe-LBJ-Santa is one for the ages.

  • robb

Lakers vs. Celtics is a rivalry. Lakers vs. Cavs certainly isn’t.

  • Bruno

not the best rivalry right now but this two teams don’t like each other and come playoff time they’lll meet again

  • http://www.need4sheed.com Tarzan Cooper

phil is a giant douche. id win chips with jordan/pippen. and shaq/kobe. rivalry is when two teams go back and forth winning against each other. boston, lakers cant be a rivalry, theyve met once, boston won. no rivalry there.

  • Seth

    Phil’s hilarious

  • Todd

Wow, I see ball4life is pretty much on every article post copping out abuse.
Why can’t you stick to the topic, and, like a grown man, accept that everyone is entitled to their opinions…

  • hillbilly

Phil should’ve stopped by the Alamo and asked to see the basement. Now, THAT would’ve been funny.

  • Lz – Cphfinest 3

    His name should be balls4life

even if kobe stayed they would have lost and he knew it… thats why he left so it doesnt look as i the spurs deserved the win, and that way it looks better for the media.. he wasn’t really injured common now.. he always does this when they r losing to distract from the actual beat down that the spurs gave them…

  • ClydeSays

Has Phil ever seen the LA ‘river’? I’m guessing no. http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/photos/uncategorized/2008/01/13/river.jpg

  • http://yahoo.com greg1

@d.j kobe wouldnt have sat out if it wasnt serious pain..

  • http://slamonline.com d.j.

he would have.. didnt he pull some similar s*it earlier in the year at utah when utah was handing their ass to them… he either makes up an injury or complains to the refs like a female to make it look like its the refs fault they int winning the game

  • KoBynum716

apparently tarzan cooper believes the lakers and celtics played each other once and boston won…no rivalry. there was no basketball in the 80′s…the lakers don’t have 5 rings in that decade…celtics don’t have 3 rings in that decade…they never, EVER met in the finals…magic vs. bird is a fictional story.

and d.j.-ur a fukkin retard. so everytime the lakers lose, kobe “makes up” an injury? what kind of basketball fan are u? u can’t even appreciate the fact that u are alive and watching the best basketball player ever. just like every other lakerhater, making excuses for our greatness. douche

  • http://www.luketynan.blogspot.com litetitan

someones gotta lil’ spur in thar britches.

  • http://www.luketynan.blogspot.com litetitan

Spurs v Phoenix is a good rivalry/ as is dallas v phoenix. A not to be missed show anytime would be houston v Lakers…they hate each other.

  • Justin

@KoBynum…I was with you all the way until the “watching the best basketball player ever” part. The only way to watch the best player ever is to watch old tapes, championship DVD’s or YouTube of a certain #23 from the Bulls in the 80′s and 90′s
