Report: Video of Gil/Javaris Gun Fiasco Exists

That’s what TMZ — who else? — is reporting this afternoon: “We’re told the Washington Wizards have told D.C. cops they have locker room surveillance video but are having trouble downloading it. The Geek Squad — aka computer-savvy detectives — are going to the Wizards organization today to help. And get this — a source connected with the investigation tells TMZ the Wizards have been ‘over cooperative’ with cops — as the source says, ‘almost as if they want Arenas to go down.’ The source says ‘there is a better than 50/50 chance the U.S. Attorney will issue a felony arrest warrant against Arenas.”‘

LOL. I just read this on Yahoo.

Is TMZ really a credible source?

  • TMT

So glad I traded him and Lamar Odem for Carmello in Fantasy… what a steal.

Doesn’t matter who the reporting source is if that video pops up! I bet it is HILARIOUS

    crittenton just pooped his pants

  • kappa

What? Isn’t the Geek Squad the people who fix computers at best buy? Computer savvy detectives?

  • http://slamonline.com nbk

lol @kappa your serious aren’t you?

To take the flip side on this……..what if the video really does show a more “light-hearted” attitude about the two of the fools…..not making it any less critical….but could show incredibly poor judgement by the two of them instead of possible anger from one to another?

When TMZ is breaking a story, you are better off not touching it until a more credible source backs it up.

  • http://slamonline.com nbk

Pretty sure TMZ is the first to break a lot of stories – FE – Michael Jacksons Death

  • d.j.

man whatever if there was a video it would have been out by now.. (unless nike confiscated it haha) this happened 2 weeks ago you can download a damn video in less than two weeks with dial up even, all of a sudden all the other surveillance videos are fine but this one “they are having trouble with”.. its just another TMZ publicity stunt…

  • http://nbashoes101.blogspot.com AI Supporter

@nbk Not to mention LeBron James getting dunked on by a high school student!

  • http://idunkonthem.blogspot.com/ albie1kenobi

    what TAD said.

  • http://slamonline.com nbk

Or maybe they don’t know how to access archived footage. Maybe they have a server issue that prevents them from sending the video outside of their network. THere could be a block from a security system to prevent people from hacking their system. There are quite a few reasons why a video, especially of a constantly running camera, can be hard to extract, especially of a specific time only

“Hello, Gilbert? It’s me, God. You’re screwed.”

  • Jdubbs

It would be funny if the video revealed Antawn Jamison with glocks in both hands, pointed at both, and telling them each to “chill da F out”

  • LA Huey

Kind of a di(k by the Wizards to be “over-cooperating”. I mean, they had a responsibility to report the incident….

I love how everyone questions TMZ’s credibility, but ran with a story from Peter Vecsey and the NEW YORK POST.

  • d.j.

    Jdubbs for tha win !!!

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

    Thank you Myles.
    Thank you so very much.
It’s like mofos don’t recognize who Peter Vecsey is.
How many times has dude been horribly, completely WRONG? Seriously, does that not count anymore?

Until we find out that the Geek Squadders was really just adidas executives in disguise.

    *were really

  • http://slamonline.com NUPE

Well, the video may clear up a lot of things. I wonder why it’s just being mentioned now and if Stern has viewed it yet. Felony arrest from the U.S. attorney sounds pretty serious, but why would it only be for Arenas if as reported, Crit was locked and loaded with a gun of his own?

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

In my defense, I never “ran” with any story. I said when it first broke that i’ll wait for more info to come out.

  • Sporting-Lisbon-Blazers

oh yeah, well said, JDubbs for da win! that was some funny sh!t to imagine…the coll and collected Tawn giving those b!tches da business!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Young C

Two years ago I would have told you not to trust TMZ as a credible source. But they have been the first and most accurate news breaking source as of late. Whether its the Micheal Jackson death, Tiger Woods cheating, Britney Murphy’s death….TMZ has been on top of ALOT of stories.

  • matt

wow what gil did was messed but if your organization hates you that pretty messed up too

  • Jon

@matt no it isn’t really messed up. if they can get rid of his contract (which surely is a mistake! no 3-time all-star sould be paid that much), how much of a break would it be for the wizards? they’re clearing spending like contenders, have names on paper like contenders but play nothing like them. theyre stuck with this buch for awhile and to be given a chance to rebuild and respend, why won’t they jump on it? i love arenas, i have like 3 of his jerseys for some reason. but from a buisness perspective and long-term growth of a franchise, shouldn’t it be a blessing that they can use this to start afresh?

    “Ohhhh shiattt…” tweeted a Hibachi.

  • nastierthanu

I wonder if gil will need the public defender.

  • http://shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ Tariqُُ

I hope the Geek Squad spend seven hours trying to download that video, and when they finally do, it ends up being Eminem’s “We Made You.”

  • http://dsjfhklf.com Jukai

Tariq: I think we all hope so

  • http://www.slamonline.com Myles Brown

What I want the tape to prove is not only what happened with this particular incident, but more importantly, who knew that these guns were in Gil’s locker and how long were they there? Theres no doubt in my mind that Wizards officials knew about this before any gun play started and the tape will prove that. Which of course is why theyre having ‘trouble downloading it’. The evidence on that tape would fly directly in the face of all the grandstanding theyve done over the past month and make them partially-if not equally-liable for all the ensuing events. Just as he didnt snitch on Critt, Gil didnt make any mention of the Wizards officials who knew about this and theyre taking advantage of that aspect of his character as they drag his name through the mud. He unquestionably did something stupid he should be punished for. But they enabled him and to plead ignorance while admonishing him is despicable.

  • nastierthanu

The next interview will go something like this.

You have the right to remain silent.

Anything you say can be used against you in a court of law.

You have the right to an attorney….

I think you see where this is going.

  • LA Huey

Hey, guys. I saw the video and I’ll tell you it sucks. There’s no nudity.

  • http://slamonline.com NUPE

It seems odd to have a video cameral or the locker room where players change clothes etc. Seems like if that were true, all sorts of videos would have made it to the internet by now.

I don’t consider TMZ as a ‘bad’ source althought I don’t take everything they say as the gospel either.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Myles Brown

Wiz say there is no video camera in locker room, but I still wonder. Players get undressed in front of dozens of strangers all the time and given all the jewelry, electronics, car keys and whatnot in those lockers, theres at least a million dollars worth of merchandise sitting in there at any given time. No one wants to keep an eye on that stuff?

  • Epsilon Nupe

I agree with Nupe, It is a little strange to have a Video camera in a Locker room we’re players shower and dressed. This story may be false

  • Jdubbs

I keep seeeing Antawn with 2 glocks in his hands as Sam Jackson/Jules in Pulp Fiction:

Antawn: “Normally, both your asses would be dead as f’ing fried chicken, but you happen to pull this $hit while I’m in a transitional period so I don’t wanna kill you, I wanna help you.

We’re gonna be cool. Now Ringo, I’m gonna count to three, and when I count three, you let go of your gun, and sit your ass down. But when you do it, you do it cool. Ready? One… two… three.”

  • tavoris

I dont’ question the existence of a camera. Not everything is public, but professional athletes only have privacy in their homes. Everything is monitored because they are multi-million dollar assets.

  • http://none The Philosopher

    Better them than me.

  • BostonBaller

The wizards and their management are jokes but let us not try to shift what Gil & Crit did onto them. These are 2 grown men who couldn’t leave the bull from their past. Once you have “made it” in a profession it isn’t selling out if you change your ways and stop acting tough. Too many fools that “make it” are too busy “keeping it real” to realize that “keeping it real” is actually keeping it cool while others act a fool.
