Chris Paul to Return Soon

Darren Collison is probably not too thrilled with this news: CP3 is inching closer and closer to his return, as the Times Picayune reports: “After getting medically cleared to begin running last week, New Orleans Hornets point guard Chris Paul is now cutting and moving lateral during his pregame workouts. Though there is no set target date on his return, Paul said he is getting closer toward returning to the lineup after requiring knee surgery on Feb. 4. Paul could return this Saturday against Utah or on Monday night at home against the Dallas Mavericks. ‘It’s amazing just weeks ago, I was like will I ever get back,’ Paul said. ‘But now to be almost there gives me a lot of hope and something to be excited about. I’m moving pretty good right now, but I still have a little ways to go.’’’

Why bother, unless it is for stats.

  • floe

They should just trade CP3, get rid of a few bloated contracts and blow it all up at this point.

@ Floe: Ha! Send him Orlando for an expiring contract and then buy that contract out.

CP3 is going to find himself on the trade block soon. Which actually makes this free agent packed summer even more interesting.

free CP3 get him to orlando for vince and rashard

@floe: Agreed. Stojakovic, West, Okafor, and Paul all must go… although West has picked up a bit since Paul has been out.

    Totally agree!

I can understand Paul wanting to get back, but I hope he takes it easy. Any issues with the knee, one, as we all know, has to be very cautious. But, these guys are pros. Everyone involved, they know what they’re doing.

CP3 isn’t washed up. Dude is still an elite level PG and sells tickets. His injuries might be a result of carrying the load too much. Hornets need to at least try to make the two-headed point guard attack work before they even consider trading.

  • TEddy-the-Bear

Darren Collison is All-Star caliber material right now. The Hornets are going to have to choose between the best point guard in the league, and possibly the best point guard in the draft. And soon.

West has been playing fantastic ball since CP3′s absence…

suggesting getting rid of chris paul is just plain stupid.

    Chris Paul for Bynum

Worst thing they can do is bring him back too quickly. It’s too easy to re-injure a knee, and that could really cost him his career (ala T-Mac). Letting him play out the season will let them (and the rest of the league) evaluate if he is back to his former self or if he’s worth trading. West has been playing well and he may be on the trading block in CP3 plays like he use to. Either way they may have options
