Eddie Jordan’s Hot Seat Getting Hotter

The rumors of his demise are swirling in Philly, but Eddie Jordan’s employer says he’s not done collecting checks quite yet. From the Daily News: “The rumors and speculation are out there, with only the tail end of the season remaining. Eddie Jordan’s job reportedly is on the line, with Comcast-Spectacor supposedly already having decided to fire him in the first year of his 4-year contract to coach the 76ers. Peter Luukko, chief operating officer and president of the company, denied that a decision has been made. ‘No, we haven’t [made a decision],’ Luukko told the Daily News yesterday. ‘We have not done any of that. I’ve had a lot of people telling me things, and I’m getting calls, but we have not made a predetermined decision.”‘

There’s simply no one better on the market. Mitchelle and Little Dictator are happy with their desk jobs and honestly, Byron Scott sucks.

It’s not his fault they signed Iverson.

I hear Mike Dunleavy is available…

@Sparty. No, but it’s his fault he runs an offense not fit for the players.

Why won’t someone hire Avery Johnson? He took his team to the Finals, and won 67 games one year, no?

Sixers maneagement had to know Jordan was not going to be the long term solution to their coaching dilema. Look at his record. Statistically… Anyways, he seems to grow weary as the season goes along. That’s just my opinion. But his makeup to me is that of an assistant coach somewhere. I don’t think he commands the respect that a Larry Brown, or even a Jeff Van Gundy would command. He hasn’t had enough success for as long as he’s been around.

This is long overdue and we need to make it a reality IMMEDIATELY! What coach gets this long to “turn a team around” and with these results? Would the Sixers have been any worse if Mo was still there? There are games I go to and wish they would fire him DURING the game. He has no clue what to do with these players. Not saying they’re a contender, but with the talent they have they shouldn’t be this bad–IN THE EAST. I say good riddance to whatshisname and the GM that brought him here and the sooner, the better.

Get rid of Jordan, get rid of Iguodala, get rid of Dalembert, get rid of EB(if possible), get rid of Kapono, get rid of either Willie or Lou. Then we can begin again.

  • Illydiva

@ Fat, damn! You think we need to begin again AGAIN?? You think Willie and Lou are the same player? I’m just asking.

The Sixers could have been a 7th or 6th or even 5th seed this season if they didn’t run a Princeton offence. You have Iverson, Iggy, Brand who has like 3 assists all year and Louis Williams and Thad Young why would you run the most structured offence in the league let them play like the Warriors or the Knicks or the Nuggets or Suns but don’t turn em into robots and expect to win. Those players couldn’t score in that type of offence and the ball moved around and one guy would jack up a shot than the rest would not want to play defense because they weren’t getting touches. The whole AI back in Philly thing would have been good if this guy wasn’t coaching or at least letting them play freely.

Eddie Jordan needs to go, but unfortunately Ed Stefanski and Jordan are dating. Ed Snider (ed 3) has no idea whats going on with the sixers because hes too involved with the flyers and im sure hes never been to a sixers game. something needs to happen (all three eds need to go, the flyers are going nowhere too). bottom line the sixers have plenty of talent to contend with any team in the east(they always play well against the cavs). honestly i dont know who the next coach should be, but they need someone who is willing to let the players run at free will and at the same time is knowledgeable of defense. this is just sad i have to even type this. get at me!

illydiva, yes we need to begin again. Willie/Lou are the same player, one of them should be the first guard off the bench, not both. The only keepers on this squad are Jrue(chance to be really, really good), Mareese, Thad, Jodie(haven’t seen enough of him, making peanuts), and Jason Smith(who hustles and is a good 8th man off the bench). We need a true franchise player, and with the way this organization is headed, no top tier free agent will come here, so it’s time to rebuild through the draft. A total organizational shift is needed, only way to get back to prominence.
