Y’know, Kobe has done this so much that it’s almost getting boring. Almost:

While the story of the night should be that Kobe had to save his liistless team against yet another mid-level squad and showed their continued fall from grace, I will instead offer this: I am so happy Kobe did this with Holly in the building for her first Laker game in Staples. I can’t imagine how excited homkegirl was and that’s cool with me!

ho-hum…this happens like once a week with Kobe.

  • slamu Posted: Mar.10 at 11:00 am
With Kobe’s clutch skills the the Raptors’ (non)defense, this was a given.

This things happens too often and we will start taking things for granted. Hey Eboy, you got twitter? I’m not running around facebook anymore

  • LA Huey Posted: Mar.10 at 11:09 am
    co-sign Eboy

  • letsmotor Posted: Mar.10 at 11:09 am
wish bargnani actually played D if he was gonna double team. great shot though.

  • Hangtime Hec Posted: Mar.10 at 11:34 am
I have come to the conculsion that the Toronto raptors are all decade worst devensive team.

  • James the balla Posted: Mar.10 at 11:56 am
Oh yeah, I mean, bad team, they didn’t play any D on him… he basically just took a layup. No props to Kobe at all. This doesn’t mean he is clutch just a bad team the Lakers should have beat by 64 points. I mean. What a bum.

  • jumpman3224 Posted: Mar.10 at 12:00 pm
Nice of @Eboy to be happy for Holly. I like that. Let me preface this by saying that I don’t think to this point in the season Kobe is the MVP. I think that it has to be LBJ so far. But that being said, do you think Kobe will get some 1st place MVP votes based on his six game winners?

  • jumpman3224 Posted: Mar.10 at 12:01 pm
Also Bynum played great last night. If he can’t stay out of foul trouble and stay involved he makes the Lakers infinitely more dangerous.

  • S.Man Posted: Mar.10 at 12:48 pm
I don’t get why Jay Triano didn’t call a time out? Were they out or something? I sure hope they were..

  • Hangtime Hec Posted: Mar.10 at 1:10 pm
Whats the season high record for game winners by a player?

  • James the Balla Posted: Mar.10 at 1:14 pm
Yes they were out of timeouts.

  • Dfrance Posted: Mar.10 at 1:33 pm
@hangtime Game winners and game winning buzzer beaters are two different things. But I’m sure with the crazy statistics the NBA spits out they keep stats for both.

  • Earl Posted: Mar.10 at 2:06 pm
    Almost boring?? I’m LOVING it!

  • jbn74sb Posted: Mar.10 at 2:11 pm
The last couple of years have been for eboy. It’s good to see that he hasn’t let the gold medal and 4th championship for Kobe have any affect on his opinions. For his sake, I hope the Heat make the playoffs this year…

  • Rob Posted: Mar.10 at 2:14 pm
@Earl I’m not loving it, actually I’m getting relieved by it and that’s not good. I’m worried, Lakers attitude sucks, Gasol complains about not getting the ball, but when he gets it he doesn’t deliver. Kobe would have 7 to 8 assists every game if the rest of the team did what they were supposed to do. That’s why Kobe has to make those shots and I won’t even mention their lazy ass defense. I just don’t get it.

  • LA Huey Posted: Mar.10 at 2:21 pm
I’m not trying to take anything away from Kobe but the Lake Show needs to step up. The rest of the Lakers are coasting and Kobe is killing himself to win every game.

  • Myles Brown Posted: Mar.10 at 2:45 pm
    Hi Bodie.

  • Jake Posted: Mar.10 at 2:47 pm
I’ve come to the conclusion that the only Lakers who are trying to win at this point are Kobe and Shannon Brown.Pau looks disinterested,Lamar Odom doesn’t get enough time,Artest needs new shoes,Fisher needs his minutes cut,Farmar and Sasha need to find their jump shots.Andrew Bynum? He’s playing way below his potential.Last night he finally kicked it into gear but we’ll see how long that lasts.

  • Hazy_Purple Posted: Mar.10 at 2:50 pm
Agreed with LA Huey. They don’t play like a team and you just can’t win championships that way. Tough to say who’s to blame though. Is Kobe such a me first player that his teammates are better without him? Or are they just better without him because it’s only when he’s absent that they stop relying on him and start playing like they should? Probably a little bit of both.

  • James the Balla Posted: Mar.10 at 3:10 pm
Geez Hazy, so many options lol.

  • meloMan2.0 Posted: Mar.10 at 3:33 pm
Kobe sure got alot of questionable calls i his favour last night though

  • Hangtime Hec Posted: Mar.10 at 3:43 pm
Yeah thanks for clearing that up Dfrance. Aparently the most game winners/buzzer beaters by a player were 25. And yeah you guessed it, it was Jordan. Dont hold me to it though, I used google. So there is a high chance am wrong.

  • Hangtime Hec Posted: Mar.10 at 3:45 pm
Also, does anybody rememeber the shot Lebron toke to beat orlando last year? You know, the one that everyone made a big deal about? Oh, neither do I.

  • nbk Posted: Mar.10 at 3:49 pm
shot that w/ 2.2 left, being double teamed in the corner. with Lamar Odom WIDE OPEN. Great Shot by Kobe but that was still a poor decision. He is not going to make that shot more then he misses it

  • JD Posted: Mar.10 at 4:13 pm
Awesome! Swear Kobe has hit more game winners than the rest of the league combined this season(literally!)

  • Rusty Posted: Mar.10 at 4:29 pm
kobe kobe kobe can’t you see, sometimes your moves hypnotize me

  • When I lose this gut I'm gonna cross you up Posted: Mar.10 at 4:44 pm
his team doesnt even celebrate game winners
    anymore!

  • Shem Posted: Mar.10 at 4:58 pm
Usually I LOVE watching kobe in the clutch but this time I feared it. Being the die hard raps fan I am, I knew when he got the ball it was going in.. something about kobe where he LOVES ripping the raps apart and no I’m not only talking about the 81 points he dropped, he averages 45 points on us in the last 2 years!

The Best Player In The World. Cant wait till the playoffs.

  • deafshooter Posted: Mar.10 at 5:55 pm
um yeah, i am a raps fan but why did the lakers need to try and get a game winner? shouldn’t they have had fun with the raps and torched raptor ass?

  • Micahel Scorn Posted: Mar.10 at 5:56 pm
KOBE!! JORDAN!! KOBE!! JORDAN!! KOBE!! JORDAN!!
KOBE!! JORDAN!! KOBE!! JORDAN!! KOBE!! JORDAN!!
KOBE!! JORDAN!! KOBE!! JORDAN!! KOBE!! JORDAN!!

  • nastierthanu2 Posted: Mar.10 at 6:14 pm
Michael Scorn word up. As soon as I saw the shot it reminded me of the shot mike hit over Marion in the all star game. Check it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3et6qAsOxo @nbk just because lamar odom is doing taco bell commercials doesn’t mean he get to throw his hat in the game winning shot arena. Please wake up and smell the Mamba

  • Logues Posted: Mar.10 at 6:22 pm
even if your a kobe hater u gotta love watching him. the nba wont be the same when kobe leaves, just like when mj left. apprectiate it while we can

  • Jukai Posted: Mar.10 at 6:43 pm
AMND THE AWARD GOES TO JUMPMAN< FIRST PERSON TO MENTION LEBRON IN A KOBE THREAD! CONGRATULATIONSSSSSSS!

  • T-Money Posted: Mar.10 at 7:12 pm
The Raptors had the right idea: Bargs completely ignored Pau and went straight at Kobe. Unfortunately for them, they suck at defense. Quite frankly, I’d double team Kobe on the catch in this situation. He will NOT pass the ball, Lamar Odom had basically a streaking lay up and he didn’t look at him. It was a great shot though.

  • Micahel Scorn Posted: Mar.10 at 8:01 pm
Kobe just needs to make that one pass like Jordan to Kerr and he will forever shake that selfish label like Jordan did.

  • Teddy-the-Bear Posted: Mar.10 at 8:04 pm
The game was f*cking bullsh!t. THE NBA IS FIXING GAMES.

  • Teddy-the-Bear Posted: Mar.10 at 8:06 pm
Seriously though, last night’s game had the most suspicious refereeing I have ever seen live (aside from the Kings/Lakers series a few years ago).
The refs were CLEARLY fixing the ball game for the Lakers, it’s not even debatable.
Phantom calls were called against Amir Johnson for simply BEING IN POSITION. There was one play where Andrew Bynum knocked Johnson in the back when he was posting up and Johnson got called with an offensive foul.

  • Teddy-the-Bear Posted: Mar.10 at 8:15 pm
Then, Kobe Bryant went up for a lay-up against Antoine Wright, who was BACKING UP and they whistled a foul ONLY AFTER THEY SAW THAT KOBE MISSED. How convenient.
This happened TWICE. A few plays later, Kobe Bryant drove against Chris Bosh and NO CONTACT WHATSOEVER WAS MADE. Kobe shoots an off-balanced lay-up and NO WHISTLE IS BLOWN until the refs see that the shot misses–it wasn’t until Andrew Bynum caught the rebound and attempted a putback when the refs called a foul of Chris Bosh. This put the Lakers ahead at a crucial point in the game, as there was maybe 1-2 minutes left in the game (I don’t remember exactly how much time).
Oh man, the refs are good at what they do–and that’s fixing ball games. What happens next? Chris Bosh makes a game-tying 3 which sets Kobe up for… ANOTHER GAME WINNER. Nobody is going to care about the phantom calls and what I’m sure is insider gambling, because the game finished with a picture-perfect ending. The league generates even more interest through Kobe Bryant, and everyone is happy, especially the crooked refs and their gambling buddies. How convenient.

  • Rusty Posted: Mar.10 at 8:16 pm
I dont think its selfish for kobe too take that shot even with LO wide open, Kobe is one of the most clutch ever, Its a smart move for him to take the shot with the game on the line, As he has proved many times before if you give him half a chance he will shoot and hit it.

  • Teddy-the-Bear Posted: Mar.10 at 8:18 pm
    “Professional” sports. Right.

  • Teddy-the-Bear Posted: Mar.10 at 8:19 pm
And Lamar Odom would have missed if Kobe passed it to him…

  • Dillan Posted: Mar.10 at 8:58 pm
Kobe lifted his pivot foot before he put the ball down.

  • Jackie Moon Posted: Mar.10 at 8:58 pm
Yes, Teddy, because that Chris Bosh game-tying 3 is a sure thing.

  • Teddy-the-Bear Posted: Mar.10 at 9:10 pm
Thanks for reading my entire post Jackie, because I totally said the refs set Bosh up for a 3. Right.
I’m saying The refs were FAVORING THE LAKERS. It just happened to work out that Kobe makes the gamewinner, but the goal of the refs was clearly to ensure a Lakers victory. It worked out better than they had hoped–it turned out to be a picture-perfect ending. The refs are good at manipulating ball games, open your eyes.

  • Anton Posted: Mar.10 at 9:14 pm
Kobe’s reaction to when he found out that wifey made the same thing for dinner 2 nights in a row: http://img651.imageshack.us/img651/7756/kobetantrum.gif

  • Justin Posted: Mar.11 at 3:09 am
Yes slamu, it was a given. Just like when he hit the shot in Toronto to win that one…oh, wait a second. No he didn’t. He missed. Sorry

  • tealish Posted: Mar.11 at 3:38 am
Ironically, this game winner — high arching, baseline, fadeway– looks A LOT like MJ’s in his last All-Star game over Shawn Marion. You know, the game-winner that would’ve capped the All-Star game PERFECTLY if not for J.O. and Kobe’s knuckleheadedness.

  • ClutchPerformern Posted: Mar.11 at 10:16 am
    Co-Sign Teddy
you also miss the fan interference with the no call on that when he fully got up and touch the ball as Jose was tryna save it, the only people not saying it are blind laker fans, like one of my friends who didnt think the no call was BS, the game just shifted after that, and video replays show the calls were BS, we got lucky with all the phantom calls that we were in position to tie, or the bosh even got an open look, we should have won, but as another friend said to me, theres no way David Stern is gonna let the Lakers go on a 4 game losing streak. but ya’ll know the laker fans would be up in arms if the calls were against them, or if the Cav or Cs were against them but since its not they are ignorant to the fact.
and Yeah Andrea had the right Idea coming to double Kobe but he should have stepped it up more, hes a 7 footer, but honestly they should just double Kobe, hes just too much of a ball hog to pass in the dying seconds and when he does look what happens (Memphis Vs Lakers Kobe passes to Artest)
and to the people tryna compare Kobe to Mike, dream on hes not even in MJs league. MJ>>>>>Kobe

  • Teddy-the-Bear Posted: Mar.11 at 7:46 pm
Clutch, good call I almost forgot about that bullsh!t fan interference. Jose would have saved that ball but the fan hit it away and NOTHING WAS CALLED. The NBA is a crooked organization, not anywhere near as tainted as baseball or boxing but it’s getting there step by step.
