Stephen Jackson on Paul Pierce’s Trash Talk

As Jackson made it perfectly clear to the assembled press following the game last night, he wasn’t particularly thrilled with Pierce’s chirping: “Following Wednesday night’s blowout 104-80 win by the Celtics, Jackson took issue with trash-talking by the Celtics and Pierce in particular. ‘It turned disrespectful when certain things were said,’ Jackson said. ‘You can be emotional in the game and you talk to your teammates and do all that but when you get personal and direct certain things to people as far as their manhood, that’s when the problems come up. And I guarantee you that if I wasn’t in this gym, that wouldn’t have been said to me.’ Pierce and Jackson got into a verbal battle and were each called for technical fouls with 7:31 remaining in the third quarter as Jackson was preparing to shoot free throws.”

    I cannot stand Paul Pierce and it’s for reasons like this. Where was his trash talking a few years ago when “SuperStar” Paul carried his team to an amazing 24-58 record and finished last in a weak division?

    Paul either had a moment of “I’m an idiot bravado” or lost his fuc*ing mind, ’cause if Whooo lost his mind for a minute like he did in Detroit and wanted to beat the pudge off of PP, who was Paul going to look for help from?     I hate Paul Pierce. He’s a f**king fa**ot, a sellout(LOL) Celtic from LA. Jax should beat him up. Didn’t Paul Pierce say something like he’s a better shooter than Ray Allen when he won the 3point contest and I’ve heard that he has said that he’s the best player in the NBA. If that’s true he REALLY REALLY needs to shut up.

    The Celtics are a bunch of frontrunners. Perks, Rondo, Allen, KG, Sheed, Pierce. All of them. You don’t hear a thing from them when they’re down 10 or if someone pushes back.

    also, jax complaining about trash talk is almost like artest complaining about physical play. give me a break. paul had 27, jax had 8. i like jax, and if paul’s trash talk really went too far like he says it did, i can understand him being annoyed, but if he’s annoyed, he’s gotta take it to paul on the court, not whine to the media.

    MooButter: I’m not saying Ray’s perfect. I mean, playing a physical game and competing intensely at a very high level, almost everyone’s gonna get frustrated once in a while and shove or throw an elbow (not so sure that Ray was actually aiming for the groin, though). i mean, no question that ray was wrong there and he deserved the suspension he got, but he is absolutely one of the league’s classiest players.

    Paul Pierce is soft. Everyone enjoyed that first season with the big three when they took a crap team and went to the championships and took it all the way. That gets tired really easily. KG is old as hell now and he’s all talk and cheap shots. Pierce can’t talk crap and back it up. He can only talk when they’re pummeling an opponent. Ray’s the only classy dude on the team. Seems like the rest of the team just needs to grow up. Stephen Jackson is a hypocrite.

    Love how so many complain about how they miss the way the game was in 80s and early 90s and then complain about players who talk trash…that being said, considering their respective experiences at night clubs, Pierce may want to tread carefully with SJax.

    Im going to be honest here; everybody on our team including Stephen is so frustrated right now that an explosion could happen. We are losing and guys are reaching the boiling point, and if Pierce doesnt want to take another wheelchair ride (like he did in the ’08 finals) but this time actually need it i suggest he shuts up and just plays the darn game. Its not like they didnt blow us out or anything…
