Vince Carter on T-Mac’s Desire to Play in Orlando

Vince informed the press in Orlando that his cousin is now campaigning through him for another shot at playing in Florida. The Sentinel reports: “Vince Carter told the Sentinel after the Magic’s game on Wednesday night that he’s communicated with his shirttail cousin, Tracy McGrady, and that T-Mac wants another tour of duty with Orlando. ‘He’s already told me that,’ Carter said. Carter said he hopes to hook up with McGrady before the New York Knicks play in Orlando on Friday night.”

That would be one stacked up team.

They really would be the MAGIC if they found a way to get Vince and TMac to stay healthy for a year.
Might be fun to watch though

  • BostonBaller

What happens to Lewis and Petrie’s minutes (IF) McGrady could stay healthy and actually still had his game? poor Howard would never see the ball in the post. lol

  • ball4life

Wouldnt T-Mac be commin off the bench in Orlando?

  • AL29

Great. They can have one injury-prone year together before T-Mac gets jealous of Vince and asks to leave. I don’t like the Magic, so I would welcome this move.

  • LA Huey

That would be a bad move on Orlando’s part.

i don’t see how this could be bad for the magic. a lot of teams would love to have t-mac coming off their bench.

What happened to him wanting to be a Knick? He’s just in ring chasing mode! Good riddance we have bigger fish to fry in NY!

Van Gundy – Vince, how could let your man go back door on you like that?!?
Vince – Tracy said he had my back!
Tracy – What? I said ‘pass me the ball’!!
    - both fall over clutching _____ joint.
    - Van Gundy falls over, clutches heart, moustachio.

I dont think Otis Smith is dumb enough to make this move signing T-MAC.

Maybe if Isiaih was GM or David Kahn, but not O. Smith

  • Sparty’s Law

What an injury-prone, heartless, losing combination that would be.

T-mac is a loser. wasnt he the one that left VC to be the man on his own squad? All while ruining what could have been the duo of the decade??

Yea, once T-Mac and VC get injured right before playoffs, it’ll be as of they never had them in the first place. lol

    No comment(s) on TMac anymore

it’d be sweet to see T-Mac and Mike Miller together again, too (in reference to the other rumor). if he does get consistently healthy, imagine Van Gundy following D’Antoni’s idea and starting him at point.
pg:Mac; sg: VC; sf:Miller; pf: Lewis; c: Dwight. They could either have Jameer come off the bench or trade him for whatever depth elements they might be missing once they play a few games.

tmac is best as a bench player so he only plays 20 minutes a game or less to provide and boost and stay healthy. 10 is too little, but 20 might work. Definitely not the minutes he’s playing in NY!

Vince Carter is one of the best politicians in the League.

Don’t know if they’d win anything but they’d be sure fun to watch!

horrible deal for the magic, if he still had what he did even 2 years ago i would say go for it, but 2010 t-mac aint worth it. and if im not mistaken, he wanted that trade in 04 because the GM wouldnt draft okafor, choosing an unproven kid in dwight howard instead. irony huh?

    …”more T-shirts”…

it would be a season full of settling for pull up jumpers and semi-injuries…i really dont want this…not with JJ progressing the way he is

  • akferow

If u notice now the only thing that hurts him is his knee. All the other years it was his back, elbow, sholder, and ankle his ok with all the other stuff now and it takes time to comeback from a major surgery like that if his knee doesn’t hurt him by next then he will be 100 percent

All he had to do was promise to extend his contract and he could have stayed in Orlando. We all loved him there, but he chose to act an ass, so Weisbrod traded him for what he could get.

Problem – do they need T-Mac? Vince already plays the “gimpy streaky scorer” role for them well enough. Redick definitely is their spark off the bench. And there’s no way SVG would rather play T-Mac than his duo of physical swingman defenders Pietrus and Barnes, especially against elite teams. If he wants a shot on a contender, I think T-Mac has a better bet interviewing with the Cavs (where even then he’s not really an upgrade over AP or West). Orlando just doesn’t need him.

we need to sign dennis scoot and nick anderson too…

Why is everyone hating on T Mac? Lets not forget dude was the best player in the NBA at one point (YES better than Kobe and A.I.)Yes he’s had his ups and downs but he’ll be back! I don’t he should go back to Orlando; he should just stay in New York, come back healthy next year (hopefully the Knicks will have a CP3 or Amare Stoudemire). Orlando will beat the Cavs in the ECF and kick the Lakers (or Mavs) ass in the finals!!!
