LeBron Confident, Defiant

The King’s ready for Game 6.

by Marcel Mutoni / @marcel_mutoni

The world went a little crazy yesterday with the reaction to LeBron-calypse that took place in Cleveland on Tuesday night during Game 5. With the Cavs’ season on the line in Boston tonight, James would like for everyone to calm the hell down.

Questions and all sorts of theories are swirling around LBJ’s health, and of course, the team’s unity under Mike Brown’s leadership.

According to the guy under the harshest glare, though, there’s nothing to worry about.

The Boston Globe has the quotes:

“I’m going to try to use as much energy as I can,’’ James said. “If I have to play 48 minutes, then so be it. I better get a good night’s rest. I’m the leader and they’re supposed to follow me,’’ James said. “At the same time, other guys got to be aggressive, too.’’

Recent history is not on Cleveland’s side. With James, the Cavaliers are 0-3 in elimination road playoff games. They lost at Detroit in Game 7 in 2006, at Boston in Game 7 in 2008, and at Orlando last season in Game 6.

However, James said Cleveland fans should count on the Cavaliers to force a Game 7 Sunday at Quicken Loans Arena. Why? “Uh, cause they got me,’’ said the two-time MVP.

Right.

So, case closed. Shuffle along, folks. Nothing else to see here. The Cavs are fine, and the world will continue to rotate on its axis.

All kidding aside, tonight’s game is going to be fascinating on many levels. LeBron James may give out the public impression that he’s not worried, but can anyone truly blame fans of the Cleveland Cavaliers for not sharing this sentiment?

…”it’s never in the throws of passion with another male”…..: you don’t know what you’re missing !!!!
by the way, thanks for the A.I. mention !! Iverson’s tonight stats(if he was available): 42-11-14. Easilyyyy…..

  • http:slamonline.com Allenp

Say what you want about Iverson, but there is no way in hell he only takes 15 shots. Ever.

  • Fat Lever

Eboy, I’m guessing Lebron goes for self tonight. Something like 45, 5 dimes, and 11 boards. But that won’t mean a thing unless they hold Boston in check on the defensive end.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Eboy

    Very true, Mr. Lever.

@Eboy I am the King of Prophecy just as much as Lebron is the King of the NBA … OK I want to play and exercise my free speech too! 38-13-8, 100-87, Back to Cleveland.

See, Jackie it CAN be fun!!!!!!!!!!!!

@Allenp….:you are right. Some guys just don’t know when to stop shooting. Josh had a few “Iverson like” moments in the final-4 last week and made my weekend in Paris finish in tragedy….(though, i have to admit, josh is nowhere near as dumb as A.I. bball wise. Problem is that the opponents knew he can’t shoot and he was left open all the time. There is more Josh in Lebron than you’ll ever admit….)

  • CHOOKS

Lebron is done!!! His legacy in Cleveland means nothing…Just another Charles Barkley with 10 years left on his career..If he was smart do what the celtics did and get dwade,Cbosh,Astoudemire,Joe johnson, to take less money all as boys and dominate the league in Miami or New york..Dont be selfishess…..REAL TALK

if i had to guess i would be close to Tarzan’s guess…

Hope the players decide the game and not the refs.
    Good night.

    Papawhatever
I would argue with you about Iverson, but what’s the point. It ain’t like anybody is changing their minds.

@Allenp….:we cannot argue on Iverson. Facts are facts.

  • penny

its all part of the show guys – this way Lebron makes his legacy so much more exciting

  • http://www.stuffwhitepeoplelike.com Tarzan Cooper

Allenp, its like huey freeman said, whats the point of talking if no one is listening, im retired

  • LA Huey

Tarzan just quoted my animated persona. You made my day =) See you guys tomorrow.

  • http://sfdjklf.com Jukai

Spanny: Yep, and facts are, you know nothing about Iverson.

  • http://sfdjklf.com Jukai

Right now Lebron is confidently, defiantly losing.

  • nastierthanu2

Anyone see the look on his face after the 2 three’s. He looked completely shook. There was no confidence there. No swag

  • nastierthanu2

oooooohhhhhh triple double and a loss. you have all summer to develop a fadeaway jumper. He was unable to turn away from the double team and hit the jumper. So tell me again why Lebron is better than kobe. Athletically sure he’s a beast, but Kobe’s skill set is so much higher.

  • http://sfdjklf.com Jukai

I don’t want to get into a Lebron/Kobe fight right now, because after his lackluster performance, it’s hard to argue… but I’m warning all Kobe fans now: Lakers better win it all or I’m giving him so much crap.

One TO shy of a Quadruple Fumble! LeCrab lets us down again!

  • http://slamonline.com Jazzygirlfresh

Give Boston some credit people were counting them out do to their age but they picked it up when it counted the most IN THE PLAYOFFS. People need to give them some credit.

  • Klemperer

Worse end to a series ever.

  • Klemperer

    *Worst*! I’ll leave now.

@Jukai: since when do u need a reason to give “him” crap? As for The Lebron/Kobe debate its over…for this year, last time I checked there’s only one guy left. But seriously that’s it in a nutshell, right now statistically 23 is the best player on the planet. In the regular season. It’s 1A 1B in the regular season, and vice versa in the playoffs. Because championships are also stats. So there is no 1 “king.” As for everybody killing LeBron? It’s overkill and even the seed knows it. Lakers fans need to stop doing the same exact thing Guys who hate Kobe have done and grow up. Accept the media bias, double standard when it comes to LeBron. An shut up and be happy with championships! Kobe is a prick and so is lebron and Jordan is an even bigger a$$hole get over it. And for the record if LA loses to PHX or in the finals they/ Kobe will rightly get sh!t’d on just like LeBron is gettin it now.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Negetivekreep

Tarzan gets the cloak and staff for the win!

  • http://sfdjklf.com Jukai

Negetivekreep: I will be decked out in as many Barkley/Nash/Amare crap as I can put on my body watching the Suns series with such intensity, I hope it breaks Kobe’s knees.

  • Jackie Moon

And that is why I don’t make predictions, or gamble.

  • bill breedley

sad for the nba. stern and espn should stop it with manufacturing “superstars” who have not been tested. too much marketing money and biased refereeing will typically not be enough if the product (i.e. Lebron) is not good enough. sure he is a triple double machine, but so was the Big O back in the day. He is a gifted athlete but does not have it yet (i am assuming he will figure it out after kobe and the big three are gone). lebron has to master the fundamentals first and learn to take it easy with the antics. no more dancing and bullcrap fake photos

  • http://www.slamonline.com Negetivekreep

@Jukai lmao. That’s more like it.

  • http://slamonline.com Dave

You should wear a Suns branded cape, too, Jukai, wave it around like Barkley, Nash and Amar’e do on defence.
