NBA Rescinds Kendrick Perkins’ Second Tech

Kendrick Perkins’ second technical foul (given as he stormed away from a foul on Dwight Howard) has been rescinded. Yesterday’s Game 5 was poorly officiated for an ECF matchup, but Perkins’ ejection didn’t cost the Celtics the game. What’s important is that the Cs now have Perkins for Game 6.  The L also upgraded Paul Pierce’s foul in the fourth quarter to a Flagrant Foul 1.

    both good decisions by the league. in my opinion, Perk’s first tech should’ve been rescinded as well, but at least one got taken away.

    The League did the right thing, that second tech on Perk was wack. But I gotta admit, I was kinda hoping they’d keep it just to add more fuel to the “OH NO! Celtics are gonna crash and burn!” flame.

    I think Dwight is going to get emasculated tomorrow. Celts are going to beat him down over and over in the paint and he’ll snap and get ejected for reacting.

    What about Dwights take down of Pierce? You could clearly see him look down, see him, and then smack him in the face with his arm making it look like a natural motion…

    I’ll take the 1 tech being rescinded, two would have been better. lol The L got it right w/ the Pierce call. That doesn’t excuse the refs though and I’m not just talking about last nights game, i’m speaking on the past couple of years.

    Dwight howard needs to gain control of hos body when he lands instead of using opposing players as balance aid. He made a clean block on rondo at one point and was moving so fast, he wiped out rondo and landed on him on the baseline. Hes an amazing athelite but he needs to be held responsible for the flailing elbows and using glen davis’ face as a crutch is more football then basketball

    I dont believe any athlete, amateur or pro, would deliberately hurt another athlete, especially with millions watching around the world! Im excluding boxing etc of course

    @Jon, have you ever seen Shaq play? He ALWAYS uses the opposing player as a landing pad.

    Dwight is a character. He complains SO MUCH when he gets bodied around, but then acts real innocent when he does it too. I like the physical play, but if the refs swallow their whistles, or call the game fairly, Magic lose tomorrow in a no-contest. I also think that Sheldon Williams should be sent in to rough Howard around for a few fouls.

    perkins getting ejected didn’t lose them the game… but how do we know it didn’t affect the outcome? you lose a starting player mid-game, can you really say it didn’t affect the outcome? how do you know for sure?

    The refereeing in game 5 was weak as hell. The refs decided that game, not the players.

    The whole policy of reviewing and potentially rescinding technicals and flagrants is suspect. Does the free throw attempt and possible resulting point get rescinded, too? These calls DIRECTLY impact the flow and result of games. There should be no technicals during games, just ejections for extremely egregious conduct. Just another way for the league to manipulate things. What a joke.

    Perkins can you ask Howard not to use his elbows because they actually can cause harm. Perkins please aks him no to be rough!!
    It’s easy when you give them but not that easy when you receive them!!!!
    I think all the injured C’s are pulling another “Pierce” on us.
    They will come back as heroes!! Watch!!!

    I have an idea: Why don’t the referees STOP calling these horrible technicals, flagrants, and fouls IN THE FIRST PLACE, so the league doesn’t have to rescind any more calls?
    Why in the world would ANYONE applaud the league for rescinding Perk’s tech!? He already missed nearly the entire game for it.

    Not that it matters but Vince carter’s technical should be recinded as well from the other game, and Paul pierce should be getting his FT attempts re-examined for overreacting too.

    It seems to me like the crew last night was looking to give out techs. Around 3rd quarter last night, Danny Crawford called a foul on Gortat (sp?) and Crawford was staring at Gortat to see if he reacts (which he didn’t) instead of turning away and signaling the foul call to the scorekeeper. Anyone else saw this?

    refereeing didn’t completely determine the outcome of the game, but it was of inexcusably poor quality. i was imagining all of the people on these boards, hating, when PP was on the ground after he got flagrantly fouled again. he should do sh*t like having some trainers carry him to the FT through line on a stretcher, just to f*ck with all of the haters on here. dwight needs to get flagrantly fouled in game 6.

    A day late and a buck short (no doubt it should have been both, and if only one was going to be taken back how did they decide that the first Tech was more out-of-line!?!?)! Double Techs are also the issue as they are just a cop out for ref’s who don’t know what happened to begin with, but things aren’t change with Dictator Stern (I hope I am not the only one who feels the commish needs to get priorities straight)…

    Shaq cant get half as far off the ground as howard and if he came down on players as hard as howard was the other night he would kill them, howard
    may be big but shaq is way bigger and less mobile, theres no way he can prop himself up on anyone without hurting them.
