Vodka Bottle Thrown at Lamar Odom from Crowd?

Stay classy, drunken Celtics fans: “Kobe Bryant was ticked – and not just because his team was losing. Shooting free throws late in the fourth quarter, the Lakers superstar was screaming because someone from the stands seemed to have chucked something at his teammate, Lamar Odom, who narrowly eluded the object. So what was it? ‘It looked like a vodka bottle,’ said Odom, indicating that it was a miniature version. ‘It’s too bad. Someone could get hurt. I mean, I’ve seen it before, you know with tournaments around my way.”‘

  • http://www.springbored.net letsmotor

disgusting. not all c’s fans are like that.

  • Diesel

And Boston pulls to neck and neck with Philadelphia for trashiest fan base.

  • Scott

Puts a new meaning to “Bros Icing Bros”… good thing Artest wasn’t involved at least!

  • http://www.twitter.com/jskcknit JSKCKNIT

C’mon man…stay classy Celtics fans? Not all C’s fans are drunks.

Yeah Lamar has seen this before…most notably the Christmas Day game vs Cleveland last year.

  • Ctp

Have fun with this Celtics fans. Everyone hates Jazz fans because of one guys stupid move.. Now everyone can hate the Celtics fans because one guy.

  • Javy

Well first started with chants for Odom’s wife that she was ugly….I’d like to see the chicks over there and how they compare!!!
I’ve never been to Boston but I heard they drink a lot so I thought, it’s an exageration!!!
Now a bottle thrown to the court….Wow!!!
I’m getting an idea of what Boston is like….I guess!!

  • LD

Lamar seen this before when he played pick up games with Artest in Queensbridge. A guy got stabbed in the heart with a chair leg.

  • http://thekobebeef.wordpress.com LDR4

Insert stereotypical statement about Artest’s past here.

  • Brian

This is really going to motivate Kobe in a few years……….

  • vtrobot

a lot of us boston fans have been able to grow into mature adults and we handle our drunkeness and our fandom responsibly. sure, there are tons of idiots here. they are everywhere. i guess this is probably a city that enjoys a drink more than others so that probably contributes to the boorishness. boston girls can not compare to LA girls. beautiful irish american girls are amazingly beautiful. irish american girls who aren’t pretty, well … they can really end up pretty far towards the other end of the spectrum. some of the older ladies in the northeast start looking like tough-as-nails little old men as they get older. maybe it’s the winters that harden them.

  • unrel

idiots.. straight up.. forget who you’re a fan of.. someone who throws something at someone deserves a beat down.. we should go to his work and throw stuff..

  • http://Twitter.com/pdxgaybball Dma

I hope we see Jack taking swigs from a vodka bottle on Tuesday.

  • Ronald

The guy who threw the bottle better get arrested. You’re not supposed to get away with stuff like that.

  • http://fklf.com Jukai

Vodka bottle? Oh god, it was Prokhorov!!!!

  • http://fklf.com Jukai

Alternatively: the bottle came from Artest’s locker.

  • http://www.slamonline.com/ niQ

How did they even manage to get a Vodka bottle through security?

  • vtrobot

Ha ha, Jukai. @ niQ: smuggling liquor is an art form in this city. the learnings are passed down through drunken generations. it wasn’t a full vodka bottle, right? they said it was a little “nip” bottle i think. that could easily be hidden up some pickled bostonian’s *ss.

  • Jumper

    LOL @ Jukai!!!!

  • BostonBaller

#1 I’m not from Boston but I live here and the above assessments aren’t indicative of everyone. #2 let’s not stereotype #3 I don’t drink or smoke and my wife is a 6’1 hottie (FB me) so I’m not sure who you date vtrobot..stop picking up chicks in dark bars. lol #4 Whatever it was shouldn’t have been thrown and the person should be dealt with. #5 some fans are just pathetic

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

    Hopefully it wasn’t BostonBaller.

  • http://www.anwilson.blogspot.com rainman10

    Is “BostonBaller” Shelden Williams?

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

@BostonBaller – LOL I feel like an idiot now cause I wrote my comment before I saw yours.

  • http://twitter.com/HarryByrdMan44 LA Huey

@rainman10, I’m just going to pretend BostonBaller = Shelden Williams =)

  • BostonBaller

If I didn’t already have a Queen I’d take Candace. She definitely has more money. lol

  • BostonBaller

You’re good enigmatic, someone could have been impersonating me. A friend of mine pretended he was BostonBaller while showing off the SLAMs I snuck into. lol

  • http://www.kwapt.blogspot.com KobeWearsAPurpleThong

@niq It was a plastic nip bottle-they are the size of a cigarette lighter. As someone who was at just about every homegame this year, I can say that Celtics fans get very rowdy at times, but I’ve never seen anyone throw anything on the floor. And if they did, most season-ticket holders/fans that I know would either point the guy out to security or heckle him so bad that he would make an early exit voluntarily. If I had to guess, it was one highly inebriated jackass. And as far as the “stay classy Boston” comment, I think LA folks take the cake as far as disturbing behavior. Their team won last year and they started fires and looted like crazy. I seriously am scared for the citizens of L.A. if/when Boston wins on their floor. That city is going to be a war-zone because as usual, a few hundred drunken idiots wearing worn-out Kobe “8″ jerseys and ugly purple ponchos will wreak havoc.

  • The Philosopher

I’ve been to Boston Massachusetts, USA. I’ve been pretty much all over The USA. The people from Boston are a proud, classy people, from what I know and understand. The history is rich, and most people that I’ve spent time with from Boston, and Massachusetts in general, are honest and stand up people. They EVEN speak proper English, though with a noticeable ‘accent’. That person could have been from Connecticut, New York, Rhode Island, etc.

  • Sam

Robb I’m agreeing with you. this does not surprise me at all. these fans do not know any better and lamar odom deserves respect.

  • truthteller

The philosopher: Nice try! I’ve been to Boston several times. They are nasty, rude and classless! I’m not surprised and neither should you.

  • The Philosopher

@truthteller: well, your experience is different from mine.

  • RedRum

hahahah!!! I like how you guys were putting down Greeks for throwing things in the court! a miniature vodka bottle… meh… amateurs… that’s nothing.

  • vtrobot

C’mon, people. There are idiots and upstanding citizens everywhere. None of the major cities really have fanbases that are that different. @ BostonBaller: I’m married so I don’t get to date much. I’m just talking about who you see around Boston vs. who you see around LA. Please do me one favor and lighten up on the LOL’s a little bit. Otherwise, I always enjoy your insightful and respectful comments.

  • http://www.realcavsfans.com Anton

Was hoping it would hit his wife’s face, maybe she’d look better.

  • BostonBaller

@”truth”teller, where are you from? It really doesn’t matter where you’re from b/c I know for a fact that I couldn’t judge the city by you and your comments . It wouldn’t be fair to them.

  • Heals

It sucks when 1 idiot manages to embarrass an entire fanbase…

  • Dillan

Could it have been an angry Laker fan instead?

  • 3thnickz

    artest shouldeve jumped in ;)

  • johnny boi

man celtics fans are hatersss Yall need to chilll!!!

  • d’bri

no sense in defending boston fans. one asshole gives us all a bad name. people have a right to rip us up, it was complete BS. if this happened in Philly or somewhere like that, we’d be killing them.
