Wolves, Warriors Discussing Randolph Trade

Beyond Minnesota’s No. 4 pick, it’s unclear what the Warriors want in return: “The Minnesota Timberwolves and Golden State Warriors have had discussions about a trade that would send forward Anthony Randolph to the Timberwolves, according to multiple sources with knowledge of the talks. No trade is imminent, but the Timberwolves have strong interest in acquiring the 20-year-old Randolph. The Warriors, who own the sixth pick in this year’s NBA draft, would like to move up to get a higher selection. Minnesota has the fourth pick.”

The W’s really ought to keep randolph

  • ab_40

do it and try to trade al jefferson dude is the new zack randolph and is not gonna get the triangle offense. Kevin Love is a backup pf/c in the nick collison mold nothing more nothing less.

@ ab_40 – You need to watch Klove play more. He’s solid most nights and straight up beastly on others.

kahn´s gonna f#ck this up again, lol…youre daily kahn ladies and gentleman

Warriors SHOULD be keeping Randolph. BUT, if it is a trade that involves Jefferson OR Love, then by all means. Nelson doesn’t seem like the coach who would let Randolph shine anyways. The whole season he gave him garbage minutes and when he was finally starting to wake up, Randolph gets injured.
In regards to the Wolves, if they get Randolph without trading Al or Love, then that’s just stupid. They are all Power Fowards, although Randolph COULD play the Center. But he seems uber lanky for that.

ok maybe I wass a little biased 14 and 11 isn’t that bad but he plays on the T-wolves. and he doesn’t fit in the triangle I don’t see him having a high ceiling in terms of basketball potential. Would I like a workhorse like that on my team… yes would I thinks he’s a great player or reliable ofensive option probably not. But hey who knows I’ve been wrong before. The wolves need a sg and a center. and flynn better step his game up before he becomes nate robinson deux.

I’m with Sam on this one. Randolph was inconsistent, but that has more to do with Nelson’s bizarre rotations than anything else. Keep him and see what he can do when they bring in a new coach with a new system.

@ab_40: you couldnt be more wrong on Kevin Love, thats an authomatic 18 and 13 with starters minutes and potential all-star on a decent team, now about Flynn i think youre onto someyhing unfortunetly…

I’d trade my 4th pick for Randolph straight up! ;)

  • Tyler

Keep Randolph please!! He and Curry can grow to work really good together.

Randolph has all-star potential, in my opinion. If the Wolves do get him, they better trade one of their other bigs, cause watching Randolph sit on the pine behind Jefferson and Love would suck. Dude needs to get more burn! And stay healthy!

They should be trying to trade Monte Ellis!

  • LA Huey

Kahn loves his PFs almost as much as he loves PGs.

As much as I like Al Jeff, he is not a true center, he should be starting 4 with Love coming off bench, and try to lure a real center..

ab_40 couldn’t be more wrong on everything thing he said. Al Jefferson is a great player, and Kevin Love has huge upside. You obviously haven’t seen either play very much at all.
And, for your slight against Zach Randolph–he has been playing fantastic basketball…

The Warriors aren’t looking for Jefferson or Love, I don’t think. I’m guessing it’s for Cousins. If not, I don’t think they’d frown at getting Love/Big Al.

  • deano

is Brandan Wright still a Warrior…anyone know?

  • Sam J

    Keep Randolph. Ditch Nelson.

The wolves have some options. It is obvious that Rubio has no intention of ever playing for the Twolves. Trade his rights to the LA Clippers, New Jersey Nets, or Miami Heat. These are teams he is willing to play for and get something of equivalent value in return. Furthermore, making the randolph trade could be a good move, in addition to drafting Demarcus Cousins this year. However, knowing the wolves, they will draft a point guard or Cole Aldrich or trade the pick.

In fact, I’m expecting Al Jefferson and Rubio’s rights will be part of a mega trade on draft night.

Randolph + the 6th for the 4th straight up is crazy. Keeping the 6th or acquiring Kevin Love would make it a better deal for the Warriors, but a crazy one for Minni. Al Jefferson is the last thing we need or want in Golden State. Personally, I hope we keep AR.

    @deano >yes Wright is still a dub.
