Derrick Rose Indifferent to Playing With Tracy McGrady

Now that the Bulls don’t seem all that interested in T-Mac anymore, Rose says he doesn’t care one way or the other if McGrady comes to Chicago. From the Sun-Times: “When he was asked about the possibility of the Bulls signing Tracy McGrady a week ago in Las Vegas, Derrick Rose was enthusiastically behind it and said McGrady could help the team. But on Thursday, after it became apparent Bulls management has little interest in McGrady, Rose took a different approach — especially when he was asked if he was disappointed in the decision. ‘No, not really,’ Rose said after conducting a basketball camp at Joy of the Game in Deerfield. ‘Like I said before anything, I’m cool with the team I have right now. I think we have good youth on the team. We should be all right. ‘If [McGrady] comes or if he doesn’t, we should be able to compete out there. That’s up to the Bulls.’”

  • Fat Lever

Seems like Rose is indifferent to a lot of things, by nature.

  • Ali

T-Mac doesn’t have the leverage or pull to talk bad about any team negatively these days. Just needs to be happy that SOMEONE will pick him up. Like the last guy picked at the community center pick up game.

  • T-Money

Fat Lever: lol you’re right. he really seems like a laid-back dude that doesn’t get phased by any of the hoopla.

why would anyone feel anything but indifference about the possibility of playing with 2010 TMac? odds are the dude won’t even end up actually playing so it’s gonna be a moot point anyway.

Sounds like a dude who can’t take a stand on anything. His game is tight, but is personality sucks. TAKE A STAND man, trust me when the BULLS are tired of you like MJ, you will gone, so tell people how you feel man.

hes jus not talking bout it to avoid stepping on feelings or pissin someone off n messin up his team chemistry.. rose is a classy dude

  • Groves

@jay… uneducated? too much so to spell your words?

  • Ill Will

    slow news day?

  • Exile

Right…. Take a stand against playing with T-Mac, only to have him on your team…. THAT would be a good idea. Rose was just playing nice… Who really wants T-Mac for a random 30 games? Thats just enough time to mess up team chemistry.

well if u know d.rose you know he is indifferent about alot. especially who he plays with. he feels like he is gonna win regardless because he is that good

  • ConeyIslander

T-Mac needs to realize that his best basketball has been played. It’s simple, he’s a 6th man now. FIN!

  • http://Myspace Shanoooooo

    D. Rose is a straight up leader. He’s not calling LeBron begging him to play with the Bulls. So you know he’s not tripping over a washed up T-Mac. This guy is only worried about the guys who want to be there, not looking for the easiest way to a title.
    Much Respect D. Rose

  • LD

Rose was indifferent about LeBron too.

  • drosefan13

I like D-Rose. He’s not begging another man to come play with him or sucking up. He’s the man on that team. He can win without them. Big ups to Derrick. Quiet, humble dude.

    T-MAC SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Scottie Pimpin

Dee Rose basically saying if your not smart enough to join my squad, better take your talents to south beach or sumthing.

Derrick Rose is indifferent about his jump shot.

  • Shem

Do they really need another shooting guard anyways? Brewer and Korver seem solid.

  • hushabomb

TMac better realise that its DRose team. Get used to it! If TMac plays there fine but don’t think for 1 second that he be like he was in Houston!

  • http://thephotoriot.com davidR

all he said was, if he joins, cool. if he doesn,t all good. not sure what the big deal is

  • Robb

    The Bulls don’t need TMac

  • http://pardonthedopeness.blogspot.com DP

Rose is probably indifferent about the groupies that come by the room after his game. Dude seems like he would get bored with anything really besides basketball. He still that guy though.

well, Mcgrady made it seem like he made the team with his comments earlier this week. That was a bad move. Kinda like when he said he was happy to be in the 2nd round before he had actually beaten the Pistons in 2003 I think. (of course that was the first year the NBA went to 7 games in the first round so maybe he was confused).

TMac woulda been a great James Worthy or Dennis Johnson or something like that, but he just didn’t have the heart, endurance and ability to lead. Dwade made the 2nd round his first year in the league. Lebron was making it by his 2nd playoff appearance. Not that those two are the end all its just that TMac STILL hasn’t made it…TO THE 2ND ROUND. Even Steve Carell made it to third base before he was a 40 year old virgin, come on man.

It’s the owners though, well the owners and Michael Jordan. MJ made us believe that all high flying swingmen, especially 2-guards, could potentially be like him. It was a sweet lie that unfortunately claimed many careers. The owners believed it, the players believed it and we, the fans, believed it.

In truth he could help the Bulls, but he’d have to change his whole game. He’s used to being the primary playmaker and taking the last shot but they want him to fill the role Ben Gordon left vacant two seasons ago. If you’re advising t-mac, how do you tell him to take a backseat when his whole life, career you’ve been telling him he can be like Mike. He’s only 30 for chrissakes, a year younger than Kobe!

  • ab_40

tmac shot himself in the foot with those comments. A shame realy because I’m convinces the bulls were realy interested in him as a player. Even if he had to come of the bench as a sixth man behind deng and brewer. that’s not that bad. He could still get 25 mpg with this team ans give em 12 to 15 points with 4 to 7 assist per game and 2 or 3 rebounds. It’s a damn shame. Now all that remains for Tmac are jersey, minnesota and the cavs. because all of those teams don’t realy have great sgs who they can develop.

T-Mac is more finished than Allen Iverson. Real talk.

  • rich

they really dont have any1 like this on their team so i kinda think they need 1 egomaniac to balance things out

  • Trout

Is this the way it’s going to end for TMac, Shaq and Iverson? Begging for jobs surely not this is sad no one is actively looking at these guys as a serious option for their roster. It has to be the the worst way to end a career.
