Hakim Warrick, Suns Agree to Four-Year Deal

When compared to ‘Sota’s Darko signing (four years, $20 million), $18 million for Hakim seems like a bargain. Marc Spears has the scoop: “Suns agreed to terms on a 4year, $18 million deal with free agent forward Hakim Warrick, sources tell Y! Sports.”

Sounds like Amare is on his way out. Anyways, I’m loving this for Hakim. I hope he gets a lot of playing time with Amare leaving.

I like Hak he was solid for the Bucks and Bulls last season. Good luck in Phoenix

  • Jas

    I’m not sure he’s a good fit. He’s a tweener and doesn’t have much of a jumper.

  • T-Money

Hak and Channing vs Pau and Drew = Baahahahahaha

Now, if only the Suns could swing a deal for Nowitzski…

  • C-Lo-The-Great

inconsistent jumper worst offensive post up game i have ever seen and needs to get stronger but at least hes cheaper than STAT right?

  • ccantrell

good pick up by the suns.. warrick will finish nashs perfectly timed passes with high efficiency.. he should make a seemless transition as his style of play will fit in perfectly with the suns.. he will not replace amare but he is a nice consolation prize at much nicer cost

    good pickup

haha they lost amare so get an amare lite. although he’s definitely more than a quarter of the player that amare is.

I have always loved Warick’s game. This is a good pick up for the Suns. Honestly, this should help ease the pain of losing lazy Amar’e.

@Jahi they don’t have the cap room for Dirk. They didn’t have the room even before they got Frye to agree to a deal yesterday.

I love how the Western Conference contenders are getting WEAKER & the Lakers are getting STRONGER, though the Suns will be fun to watch, as always

cool dunks and wack defense isnt gonna cut it on Thibs squad…..

@Scottie Pimpin – They call him MR. THIBS! Ha ha naw, I agree though. That’s why I think Stoudemire should be their 3rd choice at PF, behind Bosh and Boozer.

Not a bad price, he’s young and has some athletic ability to finish. I hope he’s in the gym right now getting stronger and working on his game. To me guys like this need performance incentives in thier contracts to motivate them to really put in the effort. He has the ability to get much better if he works at it, but now he may just take his 18mil to the bank with a smile on his face.

    Look out royal ivey

I’ve actually always liked Hakim Warrick so this signing makes me happy.

  • unrel

if he controls is temptation to fire up any 3s in that offense.. he might be great for fantasy hoops.. hmmm..

  • http://music.entellect.com entelleckt

@Tarzan Cooper: My thoughts exactly. Still got the SlamUp from that dunk

  • http://www.twofistedpress.com Pve84

Wait…why weren’t Channing Frye and Drew gooden given similar if not the same exact contract? Peculiar, but hopefully those contracts prove to be well-deserved rather than stupid in three years.

I always loved Hakim since the syracuse days. Im guessing with the reupping of frye and now this stoudemire must be gone. Alot of nash to hakim plays.

  • c_cantrell

nash to warrick will become a regular sight in nba highlights.. and he has better d than amare also.. nash assists will drop a bit but.. this deal seems to pretty much put the nails in the coffin on any possible amare return also

    Epic teabaging!

Yep, I have the slamup too. Hes actually a good post scorer, I predict many slamadayear nominations

it will look like circus there with a lot of flying in the air..

  • http://www.nba.com/sun Dacre

Huh, well I resigned Amar’e on NBA2K10 but it cost me 5 years and 126 million…. I should have let him go…. :/

Good deal for talent offensively (I’m thinking of seeing more lobs next season), but I’d like to see the suns do something about defense in the paint. Lakers just ripped ‘em apart inside.

  • topo

the suns are going to be weaak next season, it’ll probably be denver to get pounded by L.A. in the conf finals next year
