Heat Offer Mike Miller Five-Year Deal

Jeff Goodman of FOX Sports reports that “the Miami Heat have offered Mike Miller 5-year deal worth 27-30 million with deadline tonight.” Goodman is also reporting that the Heat told Miller they’re “confident” LeBron is coming. The pieces are beginning to add up, as several teams were tracking Miller because there is a belief that LeBron James wants to play with him.

    And to be clear, unlike 70% of the Heat fans I know, I’ll miss Beas a ton and hope he does exceptionally well in his new home. If it winds up being in Toronto, Holly Mac is going to have quotes for days.

    i think we’re giving up on Beasley way too early but a change of scenery might do him well. I hope he blows ish up in Toronto if they make that happen

    I wouldn’t want Beasley either, he just isn’t very good. He shows some flashes but thats it. He had a perfect situation being 2nd banana to Wade and couldn’t do much with it.

    Wouldn’t want Beasley either. As for Miller being 6th man, no way… he would start on the team, even with Lebron joining. Since the newest “big 3″ would have no problem with either Bron or Wade bringing up the ball I don’t see any problem with Wade/James at the point, and Miller at the SG or SF slot because he’s 6’9. James and Wade are also multi-faceted in that Wade can play 1-3 spots and James 1-4. That leaves Bosh at the PF-C slot. He’s too tiny to be a centre in my opinion, so they’ll have to address that. But with such a talented squad, they would be the team that gets away with it (LeBron pending)

    Wait, if they signed Mike Miller for that much do they still have money for LeBron? I thought everyone was saying if the Heat sign the “Big 3″ they’ll only have enough money left to round out the roster with 9 MINIMUM guys. If Mike is signed for that much, there’s no money left for LeBron. I guess he must be going to New York then?

    Its hard to be 19 and 20 fresh in the league, on a team where youre automatically second best, coach is fn u around on mins, they expect you to score alot, but still play team ball, and they expect you to play d like kg right away. And u were high half the time. Beas couldnt win in mia, too much crap piled on him immediately

    The math doesn’t work…Unless, LBJ and Wade sign for the minimum (since they can’t make it up in endorsements), Bosh takes the max, and the rest of the money goes to role players. If that’s the case, I hope I never come down from whatever I’m on.
