Michael Beasley: ‘I’m Just Ready to Start My Life’

Beasley, in his introductory presser as a Wolf, also added that he loves dogs and long walks in the park. Which is just awesome. From the Star Tribune: “Michael Beasley hoisted his new No. 8 Timberwolves jersey for display Thursday afternoon at Target Center and declared himself eager for a new beginning only two years after Miami selected him No. 2 overall in the NBA draft. Dismissed by the Heat for a blue-light special price so it could complete the most sudden, glamorous franchise makeover in league history, Beasley introduced himself during a funny, seemingly honest news conference with an opening hello and happy-to-be-here and a closing, ‘I just want to play basketball. That’s it … I feel there’s a lot that the world don’t know about me,’ he said. ‘A lot of my game hasn’t been shown, a lot of my personality hasn’t been shown. I’m just ready to start my life.’ Beasley started all 78 games he played last season for a playoff team, but never fully blossomed in a complementary role to Dwyane Wade and Jermaine O’Neal. He seemed to bristle over the Heat’s disciplinary system and ways.”

I’m still a big fan of his. If he’s gonna make it happen, may as well be in Minny.

I hope he becomes a beast in Minnesota. I also hope the Timberwolves beat the Heat both times they face each other. Can I be downgraded as a fan for that type of stance? Oh..and maybe catching Hall of Fame-like outlet passes from K. Love will do wonders for him too.

Hopefully the Twolves let him get loose and show all his skill set. He jus needs to take some pride in his perimeter defense if he wants to play the 3 full time.

really hoping he goes off in Minnesota. He kinda got a raw deal in Miami.

a complementary role to Jermaine? Just Wade, I guess? Jermaine is just beyond sucking? I mean, he averaged like 001 fg% in last season’s playoffs…

I’m rooting for him, even though I wish he landed in Toronto via the Bosh S&T.

  • Sparker

now, now. jermaine is highly talented in at least one area: getting yammed on

  • JTaylor21

Doesn’t he mean that he is really ready to start playing the kind of ball that everyone here knows he’s more than capable of. This was the same guy who after durant buttfuc*ed the big12 a year earlier, came in and put up even better numbers. I don’t know what happend to him. Seems like he’s too slow to play SF and too small to play PF.

  • ConeyIslander

He’ll do well there with the rest of the youngsters.

  • frownkilla

he needs to get back to his k-state days

  • Kundai

I think he will do well. last year in the 2 back to back games wade missed he scored 30- 9 followed by 26 and 7. Also he had 20+ points in 8 straight games at one point. so he has shown flashs in minny he’s get minutes and the ball so he’ll do well

  • nicko

Mel Gibson has something to say about this.

minnesota seems to be the destination for promising young talent to blossom after being dumped by the previous team to make room for a super piece

Do yourselves a favor and view the press conference on the timberwolves.com web site. Comedy gold!! Michael Beasley Sr. said he was proud of Mike for the way he handled himself, that Mike is showing maturity. And Kahn said B-Easy is going to LA to join Darko and Rambis. They will be acclimating Mike to Rambis and the approach he is interested in. During the presser, Kahn said he was going to make sure they accomodated Mike’s style of play.

Johnny Flynn will not share the ball with his crazy ass unless they smoking buddies.

Miami screwed up. B-Easy has a better skill set than Chris Bosh and comes cheaper. He just needs a lil more maturity to his game and with Rambis coaching him, that’s sure to come.

Did Eboy just follow B-Easy to L-Wolves???? O_o

this has all the makings of another logjam at the 4 with Love and Beas…unless he plays the 3, witch would create ANOTHER problem with WesJohnson…KAHN…YOURE ANTI-GENIUS ladies and gents.

  • D12FSU

this mean wes johnson isnt starting….

  • http://www.hibachi20.blogspot.com Hursty

Ha, I remember Beas’ had the video camera before the Elite 24 game. Dude was funny as heck.

Glad Beasley is getting a shot, the confidence Kahn is showing in him seems to imply he’ll start and get a crapload of minutes right away. If he acquits himself Beasley could be a legitimate rival for Durant in years to come.

  • Shem

David Kahn is an idiot. Easily the worst GM in the L, and I have lots to say about Brian Colangelo..
