Stephon Marbury Sued

We’ve been down with Steph since jumpstreet, but the last few years (and days) have been weirder than ever. TMZ has the exclusive: “Stephon Marbury — who once made tens of millions to ride the NY Knicks‘ bench — is now in a legal battle over the sale of his company … for the grand total of $1, according to court documents. In the lawsuit, filed Friday in L.A. County Superior Court, a woman named Thuymai K. Ung claims Marbury agreed to sell her 100% of his company — which includes a piece of property in L.A. — back in December … for the sum of one American dollar. In the documents, Ung alleges that Marbury is now claiming that he still owns part of the company and/or the property. According to the suit, the property is currently in foreclosure, which might explain why Marbury — who now dishes the rock in the Chinese Basketball Association — would dump his company for ten dimes.”

What? so she says he sold it to her for one dollar, but he says he still owns it, maybe steph was joking with her, and she thought he was serious

  • Cool Dude

    Oh starbury. Please don’t change

This cat is getting all the negative press. Cats out there r still feelin u steph. Can’t deny that he made back to skool a whole lot easier for a lot of families. Easier than nike, reebok and adidas ever did.

    Co-sign nastierthanu.
Although, this is really bizarre, and I bet Steph was bullsh!tting her and through some sort of miscommunication (Chinese-English language barrier) she thought he was somehow serious? Maybe she didn’t think his company was actually that big and he was just trying to sell her some cr@p she thought had potential.
OR, maybe the article is another one of those Babelfish translations from Chinese that make no sense.

I think the unmentioned here is that Steph has some monetary problems, and that could be the reason why he’s balling in China or wherever else he can get a check. If Iverson can go broke so can Star

damn. isiah really did a number on this guy.

Marbury should sign with the Heat. Then they’d have every prick in the league on their roster.

  • Jay

    MikeC, what about Kobe?

  • Blackphantom

    This lady must be stupid

  • Ronald

Why is the lady stupid Blackphantom? The selling of companies for $1 is not unheard of. It’s usually done when owner of the company doesn’t want to own the company anymore and wants someone to take over that he or she knows.

  • truhero

this shouldn’t be on the website.

  • buppie

One thing is certain… as soon as Steph leaves the Chinese team, they will become exponentially better.

  • vanillagorrila

Yeah this isn’t that uncommon of a sale. He most likely didn’t want to deal with his company in foreclosure and basically relinquished his ownership to get a clean break and now is experiencing seller’s remorse.
