Charles Barkley on LeBron James’ ‘Punk Moves’
Sir Charles has been going in on LeBron all summer long. He’s now asking for the top spot on James’ so-called enemies list: “Charles Barkley weighed in Wednesday on a recent Twitter statement by LeBron James. Barkley, a TNT analyst and former NBA All-Star, said he hopes James remembers Barkley’s critical comments and called a couple of James’ more significant actions this summer ‘punk’ moves. ‘I heard about LeBron’s little tweet today that he’s remembering everybody who said anything bad about him,’ Barkley said Thursday on ESPN Radio 103.3 FM in Dallas/Fort Worth. ‘And he said ‘everybody.’ Well, I want him to make sure that he puts my name on that (list). I thought that his little one-hour special was a punk move. I thought them dancing around on the stage was a punk move, and I thought he should’ve stayed in Cleveland. Him joining Dwyane Wade’s team was very disappointing to me … That one-hour special, them jumping around on stage like punks, that wasn’t cool to me. From a basketball standpoint, I wish he had stayed in Cleveland, and if he takes that as criticism, so be it. He knows where I’ll be, I don’t run. I’m on TV every week, I’m easy to find.’”

Chuck is sounding like a jealous o.g.
“I’ll throw it down your throat like Barkley!”…”Welcome to the Terrordome” – Chuck D
Love sees sharply, hatred sees even more sharp, but jealousy sees the sharpest, for it is love and hate at the same time.
(Arab proverb)
For what it may be worth, I love your style.
chuck never would have quite during a playoff series…
It started when Bron was posing as if taking pictures before games, having his whole ritual, he looked like a stupid kid….then what did clevaleand get, nothing….he’s a freaking clown and I love it.
He’s starting to become another Garnett. Now he’s tough….Garnet had respect on the Wolves but then he went to Celtic’s and then the trash talking came.
The same with Bron, uuuhhhhh all be afraid. Chuck is the 1st to talk but what about the other professional players, you think they don’t feel the same!!!
So, is he hating on LBJ cuz he is doing what he hoped he’d done earlier? I mean, why take IT so personal???
Anyway, as I am the only fan LBJ has gained recently, at the end of the month, I’m gonna buy the very fly Nike Lebron VII Black and white Playoffs shoes that just hits Foot Locker here in London, and if I have some cash left, a MIA jersey too. LONG LIVE THE KING!
IGNORANT DUMMY
Let’s put it this way….It’s like when you are trying to get that pretty girl….you write letters, you give her flowers…..then you get some money and decide to go hire a prostitute to show off your new love to your family. It’s all legit and within the rules but you become a fake!
Now let’s go to Miami and have a party, make sure the new girlfriend gets invited!!!
who is still bitter that all of his homies got rings.
Both of y’all made good points about the playground argument. That’s how I saw it from the jump, and how I explained with when the news came out before even reading what Simmons wrote.
But, then I reconsidered that while I thought it would be more competitive to go a different route, I undestood the benefits of doing it the other way as well. Plus, it’s not my life. What makes me happy, doesn’t make Lebron happy, and really shouldn’t have any bearing on how he makes life decisions. Unfortunately, that’s the dynamic that gets played up in sports. Fans are invested in teams and players and that’s going to create tension because any time you’re invested in someone you take their decisions personally. You feel that they should consider your feelings and well being, and honestly that’s not hte reality of the sports landscape. Fans have been sold a dream, and that’s why they’re angry.
True!
I can’t get with that.
I’m hyped for the next season. It has the potential to be epic. I mean, Bron, Wade and Bosh pissed off and balling hard on both ends has the potential to be outstanding basketball. The general hate, and how Bron handles it, is great for seeing his true mental toughness.
Then you have the sideplot of owners now contemplating changing the way free agency operates because players exercised their autonomy in a very powerful way, and well it’s compelling.
I want to see what happens on the court next year since several contenders got stronger, and we have Miami as a possible superteam. I want to see if Wade and Bron turn into Scottie and MJ Part Deaux.
I’m very excited for the season and it’s only August.
Charles is wrong though, about the Miami Heat live presentation. Any team would have done the exact same thing. And Barkley would CERTAINLY have done the same thing. Hypocrite alert indeed.
THE NUPE!!!!
GOIN INNN!!!
being smart is hard with everything sir related..
Things don’t change that much.
I heard that he’s pretty pissed with The King.
The King had Jay in his pocket. LeBron playing him while Jay thought it was the other way around.
Jay loses a little credibility on that one, if it is true. For, hooking The King could have very well cemented his status in certain circles. That would have been the ultimate coupe. Bigger than anything else he has done.
Instead…
LONG… LIVE… THE KING.
The last time I was up here saying that LeBron is ushering in a new way of thinking…
Anyways…
I think people are being unfair with LeBron only because we, fans, have been expecting too much from him since day one.
The real problem was that when he was drafted and played with Dr. J and Moses Malone, he was too lazy and idiotic to make it work.
Then he got traded to Phoenix with KJ, and couldn’t get over the hump.
Finally he ran to Houston with the Dream but didn’t play the pick and roll properly and they lost on Stockton’s last second shot. And, he didn’t stay in shape and blew out his achilles and knee.
And then considered jumping on Jordan’s nuts to come back in Washington.
So, yeah, Charles doesn’t have much room to talk.
I have TWO teams now.
I’m a Laker guy for life because of the magnificence of Earvin, but I’m THE LEBRON guy, so…
GO… HEAT!!!
2. Damn lies
3. Statistics —- @Eboy: Charles Barkley can’t hear you, sir. @JTaylor21: Stay classy, champ.
Why doesn’t Lebron donate all the money from the special to the kids who have to sew his goddamn nikes?! Do some real charity work there you overpaid, overrated, underachieving highlight reel promoted dunker.
I love you for the player you were and the “analyst”/entertainer you are … But sometimes you still go too far running your mouth, and that my friend is a punk move too. Let the new school do their thing their way!
Too bad Chuck you’re too old for this …
