King James Issues Warning to Critics

If you’ve voiced any kind of criticism for LeBron this summer, know that he’s been watching and listening. And he’s mad! Terrifying, I know: “Don’t think for one min that I haven’t been taking mental notes of everyone taking shots at me this summer. And I mean everyone!”

critics of this team are dumb

  • BBQ_Bowels

Thats fine ‘King James’. Just make sure you get your thoughts down on paper. Preferably in a nice, shiny new LRMR branded notebook before you hand it to Mr Wade to handle business.

Now go sit down like a good boy….

  • JTaylor21

We also know that when bron plays with anger, he transforms into a totally different animal. He should become angry all time because if he does, the heat become an even better team. Just imagine having to deal with a pissed off wade and bron, woooo.

  • Daniel Dragicevich

I predict Heat go 82-0 for the regular season and then lose in the first round

  • http://thekobebeef.wordpress.com LDR4

    You better watch out
    You better not cry
    Better not pout
    I’m telling you why
Santa ‘Bron is coming to town
    He’s making a list
    And checking it twice;
Gonna find out Who’s naughty and nice
Santa ‘Bron is coming to town
He sees you when you’re sleeping
    He knows when you’re awake
He knows if you’ve been bad or good
So be good for goodness sake!
    O! You better watch out!
    You better not cry
    Better not pout
    I’m telling you why
Santa ‘Bron is coming to town!

  • http://www.threadsandkicks.com.au Eduardo

Heat are definitely the team to beat. made a great team. Let’s hope that him playing against the Celtics in the last few games of the Playoffs wasn’t him angry. Bron could take out a three-peat MVP this year!

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

If this makes him stop dancing, taking fake pictures and just playing ball, I’m alright with it.

  • andy

cosign eboy…even though I’m not a heat fan in the slightest way.

  • Mvp23100

Like I said we will see what’s being said when that ball tips off the public acts like his decision has diminished his skills every year he improves his game somehow like it or not and it’s not right but heat are the team to beat book it

  • Dagger

Good. Angry LeBron is very good news for Miami.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

I’m also kind of shocked that there was a Twitter entry from an NBA player with no grammar mistakes. I’ll let the minute abbreviation slide.

  • Nick the Quick

That especially means Steve Carrell and that Toliver dude from G-State.

  • James

This is a different role for LeBron, he’s used to being loved, now he’s not. I can’t to wait to see him play the villain this season.

  • http://sdfkjlf.com Jukai

  • Dagger

E: I bet that ish doesnt happen on Riley’s watch / On another note, why are people suddenly questioning the team’s defense wheb they were a top 5 defrnsive team last year with Mike Beasley (!) in the starting lineup? Dwight anf Shaq and Bynum were not a problem last year but now they are?

  • http://www.threadsandkicks.com.au Eduardo

I wonder if he’ll have an interview with Skip Bayless then?

  • Mvp23100

Great? Don’t matter he’ll forever be jester James. If he gets better every year why couldn’t he lead the cavs? He knew he couldn’t plus west oinked his mom. Burn idk I’m happy he moved to Miami now he’s not even close to pippen status .

  • The Philosopher

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

    @Daggar….because people are notoriously stupid.

  • K.a.

    He has a list!

  • http://facebook.com/abdi_hakim Mohamed

This is nothing more than ‘Bron’s belly-aching bull crap until he can prove that he’s a winner on the game’s biggest stage. The fact is that the criticism is so easy to place on him because he has nothing to show for all his “work”. 2010-2011, anything short of a trophy will be considered failure in the eyes of many, if not all, spectators.

  • The Philosopher

Shout out to the whole SLAM community.

  • T-Money

That was me and not Dagger at 9:40a. This is annoying. / Did someone listen to Bill Simmons’ podcast yesterday? Hilarious. He was saying tha Ray Allen could do a decent job on Wade and Pierce could contain Bron BUT Rondo would destroy Chalmers! And then made the false argument that Mike Miller would not be able to stay in front of Rondo knowing fully well that it would be Wade on Rondo and Miller on Ray Allen in that situation. His rationalization was off the charts. Shaq, which he spent a year dissing in his column, was now Boston’s X-Factor. If I’m Spo, as soon as Shaq subs in, I have Joel Anthony running around the court like a maniac setting picks for e’rrbody and their moms.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

The Heat’s point guards can’t f with Rondo….that’s not inaccurate. HOWEVA, if anyone thinks that Wade won’t see a ton of time playing him with this particular team, they are dopey.

  • http://Www.slamonline.com Myles Brown

Did I make the list? *crosses fingers* Will it be announced on ESPN?

  • http://Www.dimemag.com Royal

I used 2 hate e-boy, but more & more I respect his opinion once you see that he doesn’t defend everything his guys do, but also offers constuctive criticism for his team. Can’t hate that. Bron definitely should cut the sideshow antics & just take care of business. P.S go LAKERS!!

  • Thor

    Lol @ T-Money

  • http://Www.dimemag.com Royal

It will be interesting to see how he responds on the court….in my opinion this could be ugly if he tries to prove to people that he ‘s still on MJ’s level and starts being overly agressive (like Kobe does at times). But he just starts playing with a chip on is shoulder then this could be bad for the rest
    of the teams.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

Royal, I’ve always been that way toward’s the Heat, I only seem like an as*hole because I’ve always been snowblinded by my Laker hate! Trust me, no one will kill the Heat more than me if they fu*k up this year. You can hold me to that.

  • T-Money

Myles: sorry to burst your bubble but prolly not. In fact, I don’t think there’s a single media guy on that list. NBA players, legends, execs… I mean, looking at the unconditional love and unlimited access that Zeke still gets with superstars, it’s obvious that they don’t care one bit about what the media guys are writing.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

For anyone that was around here when the Heat were winning 15 games with Chris Quinn at the point and D-Wade being wheeled off the court in a wheelchair for a shoulder injury can attest to……

  • http://Www.dimemag.com Royal

^^^ Thats not me but I guess I can cosign that statement

  • http://www.kb24.com The Seed

Lebron is all talk and not enough bite, who cares if he plays mad. Shouldn’t he have been playing mad his whole career and not wait until, MJ, Barkley, Bird and the entire media and fellow NBA players diss him. Now that Lebron got 15 security guards, he can talk big.

  • T-Money

Myles: how are you dealing with fame now that Adande is name-dropping you? Should we be worried about some sort of binge?

  • http://Www.slamonline.com Myles Brown

I ain’t nobody special. Still the lowly blogger I’ve always been. But catch me on Around the Horn weekdays at 5 EST!

  • http://www.slamonline.com/ niQ

This just in, Lebron joins Michael Jordan’s kids camp and then proceeds to dunk on Jordan while he’s teaching how to rebound. 1 down.
On another note, yea Eboy, the no grammar mistakes makes it seems like it’s not really him. haha

  • PapaBearATL

@James 9:38, In the world of sports entertainment, being a villain isn’t that bad! Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson would not be doing Disney now if he didn’t become a bad guy way back when. Maybe Bron Bron, being the Mean Nasty Bad Man will give him the motivation he needs to get that first ring, that and having 2 other All Stars, lol!

  • http://stapledesign.com Spaceship Jay

“The life of a Coward is a lifetime scar/You’ll always be in jail n***a just minus the bars.”

  • http://theurbangriot.com The Nupe

So does this mean he’s going to start mean-mugging more? If he now can’t ‘build his brand’ by being a fun-loving goof on the sidelines with his fake pics and dancing etc, maybe he’s going to take the wwe approach and just be the player that everybody loves to hate. I mean really, what else can he do on the court that he hasn’t done already? I think he’s best off just being quiet and play his game. No need to be on twitter or do interviews about who/what he’s been watching. I hope Riles doesn’t let him go too far down this path.

  • The D Train

Does this mean he’ll work on his jumper and post-game? If so, good deal. If it just means he’s going to Kobe-sneer more, f()ck it.

  • Shim

so what, the heat will beat the cavs by 100? if that happens that will just prove the points of most of his critics, that the heat are a manufactured super team and lebron couldnt do it on his own. when has he even shown any guts? got into a fight? or backed up his talk?

  • kudos

Gotta love most of the comments saying DONT make Lebron mad!!. But what about, ” A lebron james team never panics?!?” Because the past couple playoff exits the cavs faced, Lebron was the one panicking. -

  • JTaylor21

@DTrain what u talking bout you BIG DUMMY. Bron has a very underrated jumpshot as evidence by him scoring the most points from 15 feet or out in the league last year. You lakers bitc*hes never state facts just made up fantasies in yall heads. Also nobody wants to copy kobe’s corny-a** with all that teeth showing/grilling, thinking his tough. Kobe is nothing but a fake/bad fabrication of MJ, he’s like MJs illegtimate cyborg that was created in a frankenstein lab. Kobe’s a tongue hanging, fist pumping MJ looking boy.

  • http://sdfjklf.com Jukai

Bron’s jumper was really wet during the playoffs, JTaylor. I like Lebron but damn son, he’s not a perfect player, don’t defend everything. His jumper needs work. It does. It’s too streaky.

  • vtrobot

@Eduardo: You’re confusing “anger” with “knowing your ma is effing one of your teammates”. That’s what he was playing with during the Boston series. Maybe he won’t have to deal with that again next year (Gloria + Mike Miller?) and he can just focus on all of this anger. Yes, MIA will sweep the C’s in the playoffs next year. They’ll be so angry and amazing. I’m thinking of hoping on the bandwagon. Sounds like it’s going to be quite the party.

  • Javy

Wow, be careful out there, Bron is angry….ouuch!!!
He might stand around a game longer of what he did against Boston and dont’ do a damn thing, He might prepare a big buffet with lots of drinks and announce who the critics are while wearing a gold tooth.
Now that he joined the gang HE’S TOUGH!!!
Everyday he continues to look like an a****ss.
He forgets there’s a league with competitors who won’t bend over to his wishes….jajajaja
Wade, you’re another story! Keep your pride and you might become the greates ever. This from a Laker fan.

  • JTaylor21

@Jukai, When did I ever say his jumpshot doesn’t need work. Players continue to work on their shot not matter how good it is because no one has a PERFECT jumpshot. All I’m saying is that people still think that bron can’t shoot for sh*t which is BS and all he does is dunk the ball like his DHow or something. Also with all the talk about kobe’s so called great jumpshot, that sh*t was no where to be found in the Finals. By the way who is the perfect player? NO ONE

  • http://www.springbored.net letsmotor

Damn, LDR4. Can’t believe I read that whole poem when all you did was chang Claus to ‘Bron twice.

  • total scrotal implosion

  • JTaylor21

@TotalScrotalImplostion, thank you bra. That’s exactly what I’ve been saying for years. It happens all the time in hockey, too. They even encourage that sh*t, but when nba players throw a couple of fists that don’t even connect, they’re suspended, vilified as hoodlums and may even lose some endorsements. It’s a two way street when it comes to people judging NBA players (seen as a black league) and other sports; NFL even though majority of players are black, the ones you see on the tv and commercials everyday are white (Farve, Manning and Brady). There’s still heavy racism going on people even though “my president is black”.

  • The D Train

Seriously, is it bad that I’d like to see Lebron improve his jumper and post-game? God f()cking forbid I’d like to see one of the best players in the NBA improve his game. JTaylor, seriously man, BIG DUMMY? If Lebron rocks the villain cape and starts destroying people and getting better every year, is that a bad thing? If he uses this summer as motivation to get better, great. If he’s just posturing for the sake of posturing, the who gives a flying sh1t?

  • The D Train

    …and P.S. I don’t like Kobe, and I hate the Lakers.

  • Stillballin

Shake off den haters lebron!! Let’s get this ring!!

  • kundai

I hope all the side line antics are doen aswell. If he stops all the stuff and has the same look on his face as he did with team USA. The league is in trouble becasue you know wade and bosh gonna bring aswell.

  • http://www.slamonline.com/ The Promise

Again we have to listen to JTaylor21′s crap. Is anybody getting sick of this besides me? He attacks every single poster on here that speaks an ill word against his Queen James, but yet he pretty much disregards that Kobe is a better overall player and has 5 more (count em) rings than the Chosen One. Now he’s got completely off subject and dicussing rascism in the NFL. For your info JTaylor, Michael Vick had a ton of commercials, till they found out he was a dog-fighting thug. Its his own fault Peyton and Favre are getting commercials, they could have been his commercials/endorsements. So get off the racist crap, nobody is buying it.

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

I agree with JT Taylor and the Scrotum dude, particularly since I’ve made the same argument countless times on this website in the past.
    That is all.

  • JTaylor21

@The Promise, kobe’s the better overall player, HA HA, where they do that at? Your killing me with that joke. Go put on the promise ring that your sweetheart kobe gave you and wait for him in a motel, so he could do you like that broad from Colorado. Chris Hansen and a camera crew will be ready for his arrival.

  • http://stapledesign.com Spaceship Jay

Yikes. How did Kobe get here again?

  • http://Www.dimemag.com Royal

@ the promise: definitely fed up with the guy. Talks real tough! Were “basketball bloggers” remember ol dog, nino brown, John gotti, lee malvo. STFU!!!!!

  • Coney Islander

Kobe is more skilled as an overall basketball player because he needs to be, he has some of the best footwork I’ve ever seen. But LeBron James is a FREAK OF NATURE! Who needs footwork when you can go through, jump over, or blow by ANYONE! His mom was actually abducted by aliens when he was in her womb and injected with chemical X. There is no reason why a man who is 6’8″ 250lbs should move like that, none whatsoever!

  • http://sdfjklf.com Jukai

Is it the league that’s racist, or is it the league that needs to keep fighting at a minimum because of the perception society has about the league which is racist?
    Think about it.

  • http://www.slamonline.com/ Emoney2

@JTaylor21..its been since Big Ben, Sheed & Chauncey were doing work in the palace since ive been on slam. Two reasons 1. I havent had time. 2. My time was spent watching Kobe in the finals only to be interrupted by old “witness” commercials of him and one of his 241 pairs of shoes, notice i said shoes, not rings.
Anyways…I want to tell you that you keep talking about KB24 raping the Promise in a hotel room. While your boy LeBrick James or the Losing One holds bogus press conferences and is too busy to actually win meaningful games.
Because Kobe has actually never been charged, so I think YOUR RACIST for stero-typing Kobe as a rapist just cause he’s a black, and was alone with a female. But im sure you wouldnt know how to handle those situations either. ;)
And Im not racist at all, Im white and my top 5 favorite atheletes are BLACK :O 1.Roy Wiliiams #31-bengals2.Kobe Bryant 3.Terrell Owens. Derek Fisher. and Deion Sanders.
Back to subject! Your a pompous idiot who knows nothing about racism or sports..your just probably either black sitting on your moms 2001 dell, or a rich white guy who smells like sweaty velveeta cheese. Or maybe just maybe, you really are that dumb, I hope not.
Basically No one here is racist but you. so please dont get mad at Kobe, Peyton, Brett or even Tom Brady because theyre great pro’s at what they do and have championships.Again something LeBron NAMES*(cause thats all he is is a name hype)**
    or his fans wouldn’t understand.

  • http://www.slamonline.com/ The Promise

Wow, Emoney2 practically answered for me.
And as for Royal I have nothing to say to you but….SUCK MY D*CK or C*CK

  • JTaylor21

@Jukai, It is definitively the second one. Ever since that detroit/pacers rumble; where the players were doing nothing more than defending themselves, things have gone for the worse.

  • JTaylor21

I love it when a WHITE guy calls someone else a racist. Talk about the biggest contradiction of all-time. No, I’m not on my moms computer but I’m watching your gollum-looking mom on webcam taking breaks in-between her obsessions with onion “Rings” to comment on slam. By the way, she nickmaned her punany; “Preciousss”

  • http://thephotoriot.com davidR

the promise, you’re hilarious. royal had your back dude, and you tell him to suck your..
anyway, jukai it is definitely the latter. after the 90s, people’s perception of the nba changed. no more taunting or hard fouls, and definitely no more pushing/fighting. damn, you can’t even slap the backboard after a dunk without getting T’d up. was it because of the ai movement? was it jordan leaving? is it something else? who knows. but definitely after the malice in the palace, things hit rock bottom.

  • http://www.slamonline.com/ The Promise

@Royal: My SINCEREST apologies dude! I read your comment wrong, truly sorry man, seriously. I meant to say that to JTaylor, haha.

Just saying, i am amazed that JTaylor is still allowed to be on this website, seeing how he violates every comment section law on a daily basis. Just read the comments above and that should be reason alone. You stay classy Slam!

What law is JTaylor violating?, JTaylor has followed every rule to the tee, u guys are trying to prosecute JTaylor without evidence. I don’t talk sh*t, so you must acquit. All I’m doing is setting the BS people spew on this site straight. I state nothing but actual facts in every comment I post. Check it, my records impeccable.

  • http://theurbangriot.com The Nupe

Lebron is still arguably the best in the L. If he takes this anger and improves his game even more – Wow! He’s done well to this point to stay out of the press for negative reasons (legal, too many women, too much party etc). He interviews well on NPR or Larry King and overall has taken his image and game ‘mainstream’ versus trying to make rap albums. His dancing, fake pics and smiling on the sidelines have actually helped with his global appeal. I think a lot of the racism towards NBA players comes because they are so ‘visible’. Meaning no pads or helmets to cover the tatoos. You actually see their faces, hairstyles etc. and a lot of America relates the image they project to thugs/gangstas. My grandmother (a black lady who likes LeBron and Kode) always shakes her head when she sees them and says things like “why did they have to put all thoughs tatoos all over themselves” She thinks they seem ‘too smart’ for that. Quarterbacks in general get more endorsement than any other position player in the NFL. So it makes sense that Frave, Brady, Manning get a lot because of the ‘legend’ like status they have or seem to be achieving. McNab has had his share as well and so did Vick. Racism is real and I don’t think anybody on this site or anywhere else can deny it. But it’s difficult sometimes to determine if the negative attitude towards an athlete is because of their race or because they present more of a ‘thug’ image which a lot of blacks in America don’t like either. O.k., done now, I’m responding to several different comments posted above.

  • The Philosopher

LeBron James is the best player in the world.

  • http://jmshope@aol.com Jean SMITH

Too bad Lebron has such a negative attitude. He can’t take the HEAT or criticism? The last I heard we have a right to freedom of expression. A lot of us in Cleveland think he dissed us. He even said he went to Miami cuz he respected thier game. What? Didn’t he have any respect for Cleveland’s game? As far as I see he gave it all up during game 5! He gave up the game and some one say he got paid to take a dive. So let him go and play in Miami,he won’t be a king there he has to share the lime light with two other guys. When he comes to Cleveland he better have some armed gaurds and body armour. Maybe he should ask Albert Bell what happened to him when he came back to Cleveland after he left us after we suppported him as a fan base.

  • http://www.slamonline melvin ely

@total: I am not fully acquainted with baseball or hockey but your right that is some messed up sh*t. Players clearing out bullpens and going apesh*t on each other on national TV and no one getting reprimanded for it is disgustingly broken. Athletes should hold themselves to higher standard. BUT, is it racist that the NBA holds their guys to more accountability than all other sports leagues? If anything they should be emulated right? Where does the issue of race come in?

  • chintao

LeBron’s so dumb, he’d need a pen to take mental notes.

  • JoeMaMa

This JTaylor guy needs to be banned for his comments at 5:52. This is about basketball, not personal shots at family members or diatribes about racism and how it manifests itself in professional sports and society as a whole. This is a chance to write/joke about our views concerning LeBron James’ thoughts on criticism leveled at him. There are other sites for personal attacks. I can even handle discussing social issues if the discussion is respectful and leads somewhere. But talking about family members and whatnot crosses lines. SLAM online editors will be notified.
And hey, how about that LeBron?

  • http://google c_cantrell

Yal know what? I dont blame LeBron at all. I would be pretty ticked off if people was talking all this mess about me too. Cant a grown man make his own decisions in life? I would be mad if everyone was talking trash about me for making a decision that would help me in my goal of going down in nba history. Its all good LeBron, I would be mad too.

  • Tyler

I would be mad but I would be a silent killer. STFU until the season then shut the haters up.

I liked pre-twitter Lebron much better.

I skipped all of the above hate notes towards LBJ & those written against anyone who dares breathe negatively towards him just to say he will be a beast on the court but if he lets what ppl say/write about him fuel his wrath then he himself may get in the way of what the TEAM is all about. No hate towards him folks just my opinion for what it’s worth. lol
