Danny Granger Wants Another Big In Indy

Now that Pacers stalwart Troy Murphy is a Net, Indiana need a new big man. At least so says Danny Granger. FanHouse has more: “First, Larry Bird said it. Now, Danny Granger is being even more specific about what type of move the Indiana Pacers soon could make…’We’re going to have to go after another big, I’m sure,’ said the 6-foot-8 Granger. ‘Losing Troy, he was great. I can play the (power forward) but I’m not a true (power forward). So we’re definitely going to have to add another big, and I think that will be our main focus.’ …’I love them,’ Granger said of the trade acquisitions. ‘I really love them. As soon as it happened, I called Darren Collison because I was really excited about it … Amazing point guard. What he did for New Orleans when Chris Paul was out (the second half of last season with a knee injury). And I think in our system he’ll really thrive. And he shot it well. I think, when he got drafted, they didn’t know how good of a shooter he was.’”

“We need a power forward” isn’t specific about the type of moves that could be made

Over half the teams in the league could use another quality big.

maybe this is my sixers chance to get rid of elton brand.not now but if he is playing good by the all-star break we could get some of those expiring contracts

  • MikeC.

    Jerome James is available.

By “BIG” he isn’t talking bout the tig that currently plays the 5 for them.

Am I the only one thinking Brandon Bass could be had for very little? The guy is caught on SVG’s bench, and if he doesn’t get off there soon I’m sure the Magic will help him out with a trade. Could even be a salary dump….oh, and cosign BossTerry. Diogu never got a fair shake; he could be a Paul Millsap (comparatively speaking), couldn’t he?

  • unrel

JoeMaMa.. i like Bass.. but Orlando signs players just so other teams can’t have them..

  • unrel

DJ Mmbenga deserves to be on a team… any time a player runs in the crowds to help his coach’s wife.. should be first ballot HOF..

    never should have drafted hansborough

The depth chart right now at power forward reads 1 – Tyler Hansborough, 2 – Josh McRoberts. Yeah, that needs to change, and I would also take Ike Diogu over either of them. I never understood why he never stuck? Was it conditioning? He was a beast in 12-14 min spurts his first two years at Golden State.

This is what Im hoping Indiana’s depth chart will be at the very least, the goal being to put out the rookies and get them fast exposure:

    Center: Roy Hibbert
    Power Forward: Magnum Rolle
    Small Forward: Danny Granger
    Shooting Guard: Paul George
    Point Guard: Darren Collison

This set up is a good young team to at least start off the season. However, one trade I would like Indiana to at least try for another deal like perhaps Taj Gibson from Chi.

  • pocky

Oh yeah Lance Stephenson should sub in for Paul George too.

let’s see how stephenson plays against NBA competition before we declare him better than the player we took 30 selections before him… anyone that can score can score during summer league
