LaMarcus Aldridge Diversifying His Post Moves

LA reportedly has been working out hard this summer, with his eyes on the All-Star Game. Blazers assistant Bill Bayno in an interview with the Oregonian: “I would not bet against him this year. I would place that bet on him, that he’s ready to make that step, because he’s putting the work in and he’s adding things to his game that quite frankly I don’t think the defense is going to have an answer for. They’re not going to be able to crowd him this year. They’re not going to be able to double team him as much, adding these face up moves to his game.”

Very, very good player, that guy Aldridge.

  • JTaylor21

Whatever you say LA. Dude is so much of a soft, jump shooting big man that he should change his name to LaDircus Aldritzki. Also people (myself included) give Amare so much slack for being a bad rebounder while a guy like LA sucks even more at rebounding. Do you know that this POWERLESS foward avgs. 7 rpg for his career. ShamWOW.

damn @JTaylor21-tell us how you really feel

i always liked his game but it is obvious he cares nothing for rebounding at all.. if he wants to be an all star he need to hit the weight room and start drinking protein shakes or jus go hard like kg

Imagine if the BULLS would have kept him, but LA plays for a Coach to me, who can’t coach to save his life. LA is not being used right. LA is the only reason Blazers can be a dominate team in the future, I know Roy is a budding superstar, but LA is the key to the Blazers. BOOK IT!!!

I was gonna defend the guy because he does have have a team full of heavy rebounders (Camby, Oden, Vanilla Gorilla) but then I remember when everyone got injured and LA still didn’t step up on the boards. Even against Phoenix.
So yeah, it’s the reverse. The team is full of heav rebounders cause LA can’t rebound jack.

why oh why didn’t my Bulls draft Aldridge instead of tyrus thomas.

  • http://slamonline.com JL

they did draft him, but they traded him for tyrus thomas. ladies and gentlemen, YOUR Chicago BULLLLLLLS!!!

how can he rebound when he’s always outside shooting jumpers. diversifying post moves? did he really have any post moves? the strange thing is, he’s not short either. Why isn’t he in there banging and posting up? the blazers would be that much better with a legit post threat. oden isn’t the answer for offense there.

Will Roy concede some of the responsibility to him though? Blazers could be a threat to the Lakeshow (not a real contender) if they could find a way to put all that talent together.

  • JTaylor21

@LA Huey maybe he doesn’t want ANY responsibilities. Dude doesn’t have the aggressive make up to demand the ball and dominate the game for long stretches. He’s the one I believe that’s holding this team back from reaching it’s full potential. For a 2nd overall pick, he has to be way BETTER than what he’s shown so far.

KG doesn’t drink protein shakes, protein shakes drink KG.

  • tavoris

    confused my Anton’s comment.

People need to be happy with what they got. If he had started at a young age learning post moves and playing in the paint, people would complain that he couldn’t shoot, and teams would push him out past his shooting range. I’m guessing he was always tall and skinny, getting pushed around so he started shooting. I see no reason why he can’t be an all-star real soon.

do you guys even watch Blazer games? Nate wants him shooting jumpers instead of in the post in the Iso-Roy offense. Plus when you play next to Joelzilla, Oden or Camby, you’re bound to have bad rebound numbers.

dma – Isn’t the whole point why LA is shooting jumpers is because he doesn’t have an inside game? If he comes into trainging camp this season with that in his arsenal then logic suggests that McMillan will use him in the post more.

LA will score on you haters’ asses anyday
