Sean May Waived By the Nets

The Nets have released the injured May into the wild, and the Star-Ledger explains that this is not surprising in the least: “Sean May, whose chances of making the Nets were firmly in the slim-or-none category, suffered a stress fracture in his left foot during a workout last week in Chapel Hill and was waived by the team today, just 17 days before the start of training camp. Nets general manager Billy King explained that the team just couldn’t wait on the 25-year-old power forward: ‘The injury has a four- to eight-week rehab period,’ King said, ‘which would not provide Sean a legitimate chance to make our team.’ May was a long shot to make the team even before the Nets traded for Troy Murphy, who is likely to start ahead of rookie Derrick Favors and Kris Humphries at the four-spot. The Nets had given May a make-good contract on August 6.”

He was the MOP(shout out to Fame and Billy Danze!) in the tournament, if I remember correctly. Never seemed to take being a pro seriously. There’s 8 million stories in the city/It’s a pity(not really).

Weird that that 05 title team had so many underachieving pros on it

For the Nets it was probably best to waive him now; sooner or later he would have found the Rutgers grease trucks.

Maybe the Celtics, they like recruiting fat b@st@rds. Or you can join The Matadors and watch the Bulls play.

It just goes to show how college is SO OVERRATED in terms of preparing players for the NBA. Shoutouts to the caveman that resides in LA.
