Denver Crowd Shows Carmelo Anthony Love

It’s pretty clear Melo wants out of the Mile High City. It’s also clear that the city wants him to stay. Last night provided a reminder of that. Yahoo (via the AP) reports: “Carmelo Anthony scored 24 points and received a warm response throughout his 24 minutes of play as the Denver Nuggets beat the Portland Trail Blazers 109-99 on Friday night. The crowd roared its approval during the opening introduction and for every basket and rebound from Anthony, who has yet to sign off on a three-year, $65 million extension that’s been on the table since June, leading the Nuggets to explore trade options.”

I think LeBron should start wearing a Cleveland Indians hat for now on every where he goes like he did with the Yankees hat. That will really make them mad.

Melo should stay. This whole decision thing this summer has blown up everyone’s ego, he’s just trying to get attention by waiting as long as possible. Denver’s offering him financial security and a fanbase that loves him, if that isn’t good enough for him I don’t know what is.

I would have booed him. Let’s be men about this. None of this “I never asked to be traded” mess. If you didn’t ask or indicate to someone that you wanted to be traded, where did all of these proposed deals and rumors come from? Carmelo wants to lose in New Jersey or New York. The same with Chris Paul. Let’s be real here.

Carmelo is the guy at the playground who won’t get in a game cuz he is still waiting for his friends to come. He passed up 4 games but he will still wait.

    Reverse psychology.

@ LD… man i hate that guy at the playground lol. Especially when u need an extra player.

Props to the Nuggets fans for being classy. They know it has nothing to do with them, and Carmelo gets along with his teammates and the coaching staff in Denver. I believe it’s about how the Nuggets ownership won’t spend the money it will take to add the pieces that are needed to be a serious contender in the Western Conference. Another thing that BLOWS is the Denver’s front office setup. They simply have TOO MANY DECISION MAKERS CONSTIPATING THE DECISION PROCESS. What they need is a CLEARCUT DECISION MAKER A LA JERRY WEST, but that’s too late now. I hope Carmelo holds out for what he truly wants and watches Denver’s leverage melt away each day the calendar gets closer to the 2011 February trade deadline. Another thing, Denver needs to stop thinking they can rebuild, and also contend with Billups at the same time. You either rip it all down, or you give everyone a contract extension. P.S. LOL at Stan Kroenke’s Rams getting SMOKED today by the ferocious Lions. Ha ha ha. Go JETS tomorrow night!!!

Those same fans will make fires with his jersey next July

  • Yes.We.Did.

It makes more sense to stay in Denver. Good city, Damned loyal fanbase, and a team that gives him the best shot at beating the Lakers. Why would you want to go east and go through Boston, Orlando, and Cle-er, Miami.
