Kevin Garnett: Heat vs Celtics a ‘Soap Opera’

KG’s soap opera game is strong, word to “Days of Our Lives”. WEEI has the quotes: “That game will be played next Tuesday night at TD Garden as LeBron James makes his official debut with the Heat, along with Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade. ‘I think with the anticipation [after] our exiting the finals last year and then with the new additions to Miami, they overly hyped the game,’ Kevin Garnett added. ‘Yeah, I can see this has a lot of episodes, a lot of drama, if you will. It will have a lot of soap opera feel to it. Days of Our Lives, Another World, Santa Barbara. My grandmother was a big, big soap opera fan so it was either go outside or sit in there with her so I know that schedule quite well.’”

Just imagine KG watching a soap opera, it would be a sight to behold. Over and Under on tears shed: 0

I wonder if KG gets down on all fours and barks at low-level soap stars when they come on TV.

I now expect Paul to get wheeled off the court with concussion induced amnesia (conivingly faked to get sympathy from the viewer’s of course), Lebron and Delonte fistfight over Gloria, and Dwyane’s baby mama after losing custody, kidnapping his kids in a plot insidiously masterminded by Shaq (but it was actually Pat Riley all along)

If Big Baby finds out that Shaq is actually his father, I won’t be tuning in.

LOL at NOEL: don’t sleep on the Lakers. Lakers management will give a statement on the game, saying that Kobe is now KING of basketball and therefore should be voted most popular and take Wade’s baby mama to the ball of the season and get married happily ever after. The End. lol

Didn’t Luke Walton appear in some daytime soap a few years ago…It’d be great if the NBA had its own soap. Bet Steve Francis and Cutino would be bunk-mates. RonRon would be “the situation”…

I have a hard time with the soap and the KG on all fours reference.

  • Remo Williams

@Noel: LOL I’ll be watching with my bag of popcorn… hopefully they add a little basketball in the mix

Anytime shaq is on your team, if there isnt drama before he got there,it will be when he leaves. He always make sure that he is not wanted back,,,isnt that called burning your bridge? So, boston along w/yht miami drama, check your team, when shaq decides that he needs to be featured.

Tune in for the next episode, when Kobe apes Michael Jordan’s every tongue-out drive, and shot-celebrating fist pump and tries so hard to mount dude.
