Technical Fouls Will Cost More

Recently, we learned it would be easier to pick up techs. Now the NBA is charging more per technical. Via NBA.com : “Technical fouls will become twice as expensive this season. The NBA informed teams that fines for technicals will double from last season’s amounts in a memo, the contents of which were confirmed to The Associated Press on Friday. Players and coaches will now be docked $2,000 for each of their first five technical fouls. The costs rise to $3,000 for the next five, followed by $4,000 for Nos. 11-15. Starting at 16, players are suspended one game for every two technicals, along with $5,000 for each.”

How is curbing the naturally emotional part of the game going to help? Many people say players don’t care and instituting more stricter rules the role players will not give a crap. They would just collect their paycheck and go home. Superstar players will play without passion. More ways to rip off players in a more softer NBA. Boo! Thumbs down to David Stern!

How can we blame lebron for this?

    lol@ LD.
I think this is David Stern’s way of making sure there are less incidents in Maimi for years to come [ not that its going to work]. Atuallyy this is another way of milking the mimi situation.

Good, so it will cost Kobe more when he acts like a b*tch after every shot.

This will be the future of the NBA if this keeps up.

This is not to punish the players, but to keep the NBA afloat in case of a lockout season. It’s all about the Chairman Mao’s, baby.
