2012 Olympics: LeBron in, Wade and Bosh Unsure

High-profile dudes are already starting to commit to Team USA for 2012, but down in Miami, only one of the Big 3 can say he’s definitely on board. ESPN reports: “Though the timing seems odd, this week 2008 gold medalists Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard said they plan to rejoin Team USA for 2012. It was more of a surprise for Bryant, who has battled injuries over the last few years, to commit so early. LeBron James seemed eager to follow suit when asked about his long-term plans on Thursday. Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh weren’t as ready to commit this far out. ‘I would love to be a part of that team,’ James said. ‘If (coach Mike Krzyzewski) needs me to be a part of that team, I’m available. Hopefully I’m healthy enough to be a part of that team. Coach K has my number.’ Wade and Bosh cited the calendar, noting July 27, 2012 is still quite a distance away. ‘I’m just focused on right now, there’s too much going on in my life right now to try to think about that,’ Bosh said. ‘Once the season is over and the summer comes we’ll talk about it.’ ‘It is a ways off, I’ve got a lot of other things to worry about that I deal with off the court,’ Wade said. “I’m not there to where I have to make a decision. I’m glad those guys said that and they’re going to play for our team. When the time comes it will be made but it will be a collective decision that I’ll make with my family.’”

    this is going to open up stupid comments about bron trying to keep up with kobe.. i will probably not come back to this post.. because lebron haters will sound really stupid.. by the way.. i’m a laker/kobe fan..

    Lakers reign is only a season alive, welcome to the new NBA order with HEAT on top of it.

  • JTaylor21

    They don’t need DHow who is useless in International play, I much rather have CB1 than him anyday.

    “There’s too much going on in my life right now to try to think about that”, if Wade said this I could definitely understand, but not Bosh.

  • BRAVO

    i doubt that these 3 players will play for your country USA! If I were them they need to focus on there own team!

    Bosh has a lot of things going on in his life right now! I’d say 13 ppg, 6.4 rpg and 1.6 apg constitutes a lot of things to think about.

  • BRAVO

    lmao bosh is super soft this year! i dont care if you playfor miami heat or with lebron james and dwade! your game play is off!

    What a coward, he knew he couldn’t get the gold medal by himself so he had to join up with other All-Stars. His legacy is forever tarnished.

    @Anton, good one.

  • MUBWAR

    @Anton…loser talk…Long Live King James B*****S…

    Bosh just got married. If you’re a married man and you start committing to long term stuff without discussing it with your wife, you are a fool.

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

    Allen, you can’t compare being recently married to someone fighting for custody of his children. And I commit to long term stuff all the time without consulting the wifey! Damnit, I just got Direct TV with NBA League Pass, wife be damned!

  • JTaylor21

    Enigmatic, speaking of league pass, how do you like it so far and has it lived up to the hype?

  • http://www.slamonline.com peter

    @AllenP…If you can’t convince your wife to let you play in the olympic games and try win a gold medal somethings wrong.

    JTaylor21 – Yo I am loving the sh*t out of it! I’m FINALLY able to watch teams like the Kings, Grizzlies and Clippers on the regular, and I won’t miss any Bulls games this season for once. Only complaint I have is, when I have to DVR a game, which is like every day cause I live in the land of igloos and eskimos, you know you have several options, but I wish they’d tell you which channel has the coverage from which city. Like, when I set a Chicago Bulls game to record, I wanna know which channel will be the one being broadcasted from Chi-town so I can listen to my homer-ass boys Neil Funk and Stacey King instead of the guys announcing for the opposing team’s local channel. Also, I’m a little dissapointed, but it’s no one’s fault but my own for being an idiot and not reading up about it on my own, that League Pass Mobile is extra. I was hoping to watch some games on my phone, but it’s all good. Oh, and the HD on my sattelite compared to my sh*tty ass Alaskan cable company? DAMN. Can’t even compare…

    When your planning to start a family soon (as Bosh said they are discussing) – Yes, you do want to check with wifey before committing to playing. Even if not, always best to check in first. I understand Wades situation too, if what he is thinking about is the custody battle etc. I like LeBrons answer because he basically said he wants/will play but left himself an out by adding “Hopefully I’m healthy enough” In other words his elbow can effect him again at anytime – or not.

    With the other growing Power Forwards in the league right now I don’t think Chris Bosh will make the team in 2012. It will only be because of the Heat exposure. If the team was made tomorrow Blake Griffin, Amare, Odom, Josh Smith, Horford would contend and probably take his spot.

  • Jay Reyes

    i dont think we should cloud our minds that Lebron is trying to keep up with Kobe, i believe patriotism is the reason.

  • Jay Reyes

    i mean, if you were given the opportunity to play for your country, would you take a week off from your work and represent? i know you would…

  • http://hibachisabas.blogspot.com/ Toni Kukoc

    no one wants old people on their team.

  • IAMORANGE4EVER

    @Eduardo – I agree with that. Blake Griffin is definitely on Team USA in 2012 if god is willing and the creek don’t rise. lol

  • lb1

    how could u ever be unsure. its the Olympics! u cant willingly turn that down. the only reason u shouldn’t play or be unsure is if your injured or for a fam crisis.plain and simple. it would be a big joke if wade and bosh didn’t play
