Carmelo Anthony to Think About Signing Extension in Denver

With Melo in town to play the Knicks today, the trade rumor mill is in overdrive, but he told CBS Sports that staying in Denver for the long haul hasn’t been ruled out: “My mind is not made up,’ Anthony said after completing his first full-speed drills after missing two games leading up to Sunday’s noon ET tipoff against the Knicks, one of his suitors via a trade or free agency – whichever comes first. ‘My mind is just to focus on this game [Sunday]; that’s really all I’m focused on right now. My mind is not made up. Where that’s coming from, I don’t know. But my mind is not made up.’ … With 2 1-2 months to go before the Feb. 24 trade deadline, Anthony said he told Nuggets GM Masai Ujiri and executive Josh Kroenke that he hasn’t ruled out signing a three-year, $65 million extension offer that has been on the table since the spring. ‘I met with them last week and I told them I’d think about it,’ Melo said. ‘Which is more than I’ve said. We’ll see. We’ve been having a lot of great conversations.’”

Denver are still a really good team

why leave them for potentially worse teams?

@Loaf- because there’s a lot of uncertainty with Denver. Some key players are getting up there in age and others are gonna be free agents and may not stick around either.

For anyone to say that the Knicks aren’t as good as Denver at this point, are y’all even watching these games? The Knicks are a problem for teams right now. Given, their defense still leaves alot to be desired, but they’re clicking on all other cylinders. Adding Melo would make them an Elite team… that is if they don’t GUT the roster to trade for him.

espn is reporting that melo isnt gonna sign the extension unless he’s traded to the knicks

Na i am still holding little faith for NY come play off time, they will be chewed up by the elite of the elites

Denver is a old injury plagued roster. The only promising young talent I’d ty Lawson. Jr smith will never be a consistiently good player.

As much as I’d like to see Melo stay in a Denver uni, watching Amar’e and Melo together would be great. 2 of my favorite players, not the team I’d like to see them on, but it is what it is. :P
