Chauncey Billups to Miss a Week

Most of the attention in Denver has been on off-the-court concerns, understandably enough, but on the court, things are a bit tough at the moment. Here’s the latest, via the Denver Post: “Guard Chauncey Billups is the latest to miss time, his absence because of a wrist injury that hasn’t healed since he injured it Nov. 20 in a fall against New Jersey. Billups and forwards Chris Andersen and Kenyon Martin are out with injuries — three key players to the Nuggets’ fortunes. The latter two are on the mend. Nuggets coach George Karl sounded hopeful Tuesday night that Andersen could be back in uniform sometime next week. Martin continues to make progress in returning from offseason knee surgery. Billups is a bit of a wild card. He said he’ll be out for a week because of a couple of ligament tears in his wrist. ‘They told me it should feel better if I rest it up for a week,’ Billups said. ‘It’s supposed to feel better by then. But, of course, the best scenario is for me to rest it for four to six weeks and do nothing, but I can’t do that. I’m banking on the fact that it’s going to feel better. The thing that makes me feel good about it is I was playing with it all this time, and even playing with it there was a time that it felt a little better. So I feel like I can get there again. But to keep banging it isn’t going to be the solution right now.’”

Trade him for some young talent or some picks. Big Shot Billups 2003-2006 years are over. Its been over for a while now. Lawson should start. BOOK IT!!
