Joakim Noah Doesn’t Believe Phil Jackson Is Retiring

Noah says he sees through the Zen smokescreen, and that he respects Phil’s hustle to get more of that paper from Jerry Buss’ coffers. Chicago Breaking Sports has the quotes: “Unless the Bulls, ahem, make the NBA Finals, Friday night could be Phil Jackson’s final trip to the United Center. Jackson has strongly hinted that this season will be his last with the Lakers, although Joakim Noah playfully enjoyed discussing that topic after Thursday’s practice at the Berto Center. ‘I feel like he says that a lot,’ Noah said, smiling. ‘Every year, he’s always saying he’s going to retire. For some reason, he always comes back. I think it’s a smart thing to try to get his contract. He’s smart with that kind of stuff. You never know.’”

That’s right Noah you see right through that bs that Phil is always giving. There is nothing Zen about this man I mean Phil is my favorite coach but he’s not Zen he just talks a lot of ish.

c_cantrell does not think he is retiring either

Noah should stop talking to the media especially about things that don’t concern him

He should come back to Chicago, coach the next gen Bulls. Boozer, Noah, Rose, Deng… Jackson could work wonders. This is no discredit against Thibs, who is doing an amazing job as it stands.

Thibs is already working wonders for the Bulls compared to Vinny Del Negro.

Phil is gone, unless the knicks get way better, he’s done. Stick a fork in my boy Phil, after he gets that dozen.

I dont understand why every time Joakim Noah says something it is front page news. He isnt THAT good or THAT funny that his every word warrants some sort of special attention.

I’ve liked Noah’s game and heart since his days in Florida, but he seems to have an opinion about EVERYTHING lately.. Guess thats one way to get people to know who you are, and check your name on the all star ballot..

I haven’t seen or read the interview but SLAM has a real tendency of making thing seem as if the player is giving an opinion out of the blue. If a reporter asked Noah “Do you think this is the last time we’ll see Phil Jackson at the United Center?” or something along those lines, then why can’t he say what he thinks?
