Post Up: LeBron’s Return

You come at the King, you best not miss.

by Adam Figman | @afigman

Miami 118, Cleveland 90

Perhaps you heard about this game? We’ve had plenty of coverage, so you should know how it all went down by now, but let me wrap it up real quick: LeBron returned to Cleveland; was welcomed with boos and chants of ******* and **** *** and ********** and…you get the picture; despite some speculation that he wouldn’t, he did throw talcum powder in the air during his pre-game routine; then the Heat went to work. Miami jumped out to an 8-point lead after one, then a 19-point lead after two, then a 30-point lead after three, and, as you could imagine, it was smooth sailing from there. Bron caught fire in the third, and ended up with a whopping 38 points, which coincided with 8 assists, 5 boards, 1 steal and 1 block. Not too shabby. DWade had a solid 22-9-9 line, and James Jones added 18 points, but let’s face facts: This was the James’ night. Miami has now won three in a row, and though all three Ws were against subpar squads (WashingtonDetroitCleveland), it might’ve been exactly what the Heat needed to get some footing as the team (read: Bron, Wade and Bosh) gains chemistry and learns to play together. That ball should keeping rolling, too, given that their next game is against the Atalanta Hawks (sans Joe Johnson) on Saturday. As for Cleveland, well, they’re now 7-11, and, um, yeah…

Phoenix 107, Golden State 101

After an intense battle that featured some not-so-intense basketball, this was a change of pace—a slightly more relaxed matchup between two high-octane West Coast offenses. The Suns prevailed, hanging just ahead for the game’s entirety and holding on in the final minutes. Phoenix received quality performances from their starting swingman duo of Grant Hill (25 points) and Jason Richardson, who were fed a series of pretty set-ups from point man Stevie Nash (16 dimes). For the Warriors, Monta Ellis matched Bron Bron’s earlier showing, scoring 38, while David Lee dropped 25 and took full advantage of the Robin Lopez-less Suns frontcourt. Coach Gentry’s guys moved to second in the Pacific with the victory, and more importantly, now sit at eighth place and in playoff contention in the crowded Western Conference.

Performance of the Night: LeBron James: 38 points, 8 assists, 5 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 block
Moment of the Night: Hard to boil down what was a pretty ridiculous night into one moment, so I put together a few videos that, in my opinion, sum up what took place—without actually showing any hoops. Enjoy.

I’m going to put the over/under on the excuses as to why what happened last night at the Q wasn’t special or newsworthy from the group of losers that pollute the comment section at…….hmm, let’s see…14.

  • http://bassbesteck@wordpress.com Bassbesteck

ahahaha… mo is like: “na, don’t wanna talk to you. You made me cry…”

  • letsmotor

too bad more of the cavs didn’t have the attitude mo showed in that clip. things might’ve been a little more competitive.

  • kb24mj23

Show em how you feel Mo! And do we still need to write in Comic Sans for Cav’s games after this one? Or is it enough?

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

It really would have been funny if Mo retired after the game last night like someone said yesterday.

  • AT33

The Heat still suck man. Stop talking about the big 3, there are only 2 good players on this team. CB is garbage, he can’t post up, can’t guard nor is he a feared post presence. FROM NOW ON PLEASE ONLY USE BIG 2, WHEN TALKING ABOUT THE HEAT. CB is an overpaid garbage man. Oh by the way, I give McGrady right LeBron and DWade don’t mix well, they are two and the same player. I predict one of them will go sooner rather than later. No way they will win a ring on the same team.

  • http://www.slam.com Martey

Never seen so many butthurt people in one room at the same time. The Q Arena was like one big proctologist’s office. Talk about living vicariously through one guy. Most of these dudes with the quitness t-shirts don’t have an athletic bone in their body and the t-shirt probably fit them better than Lebron (figuratively and literally). Then Pimpin Ken (or is that Craig) Sager asks him if he wants to apologize. I wish Lebron morphed into Barkley or Oakley circa 93 and just headbutted him. Good game though

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

^First idiot of the day. Over/under on how many of them will show up today…….39.

  • http://www.slam.com Martey

@AT33 McGrady was criticizing but was trying to play for them early in the season and wanted Lebron to come to New York to play with him last year. That would have been 3 guys who play the same.

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

11-1 against sub .500 teams, 1-7 against teams above .500. It’s a celebration, b!+(#&$. I’ll be an “idiot” for pointing out facts and for saying that a 28 point win and 38 points against a crappy team isn’t anything “special.” So what. Moving on, nothing to see here…

  • http://www.slamonline.com peter

That third quarter was brutal…you could see on the fans faces that every corner fadeaway or threepoint play was like a knife twisting further into their guts…just a cold reminder of how amazing Lebron can be and what was taken away from them.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

Second idiot sighting at 9:16a. This was not an uncommon one.

  • Sizzle

@Bryan Crawford yet if the Heat lost and LeBron played bad you’d be all over it. I bet in your eyes that be the “one of the greatest sports spectacles” the hoops world has ever seen.

  • Randy Brown

I’m just here to endorse that ‘come at the king’ comment

  • Bruno

damn can’t watch videos at work … maybe the heat can change home games to cleveland

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

Celebrating mediocrity… a common occurrence for the lone Heat “fan” driving the bandwagon of groupies right over the cliff of failure.

  • http://www.twitter.com/TheDiesel Anton

I’m in a glass case of emotion.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

Actually, let me stop….I’m really hoping that tonights marquee game between the Bulls and the Celts is WAY better than last nights Heat/Cavs game. But to be honest, we all know the Bulls will suck as usual and fall short after being “scrappy” for 48 minutes. Boozer may produce less than his first game two nights ago too. Should be great for fans of mediocre basketball again.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

Bron….you’ve been doing that for 12 years….tell us how it feels.

  • http://www.slam.com Martey

Quit poppin E little boy, and point your F*%&* arrows elsewhere

  • JTaylor21

Ofcourse BCrawford would be quick to downplay what happened last night but when his bull-sh*t lose he’s no where to be found. BC everyone knew that the heat would win handily so no one celebrating but what everyone in the media and on this site especially wanted to see was what bron would do. If I remember correctly people were saying that bron would struggle (because he’s not built like that) and wade would “carry” them but boy were they wrong. But you can go ahead and act like they are celebrating down collins drive, by the way How bout them bulls and what are you thoughts on the Eyebrow’s great return.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

But you know, the Bulls are building the right way…right into a 500 record after 20 games. Like they’ll be once the take it up the a*s tonight and when Mr. Westbrook comes into tonight in a few days and takes Derica’s manhood.

  • IAMORANGE4EVER

LeBron James 1 Dan Gilbert 0

  • MUBWAR

Apologize for what. He was a free agent and he left. We didn’t cry about it in Toronto so stop it you ******* clevelanders. Great game for the King.

  • http://www.borntocompete.com Money$hot

Hopefully all the hype should past now, it was just a basketball game, a good team and a bad team. Maybe the hatred will stop on Lebron because u can see that his is a good player whether u like it or not. And, now I hope the media can just focus on the NBA season as a whole.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

glad someone brought up that fat b*tch Gilbert. He was so big and bad in a press release yet that soft headed c*nt sat in his seat like a church mouse while his team got emasculated. If you don’t have the balls to do things in person fatboy, keep your mouth shut. Or your fingers off the keyboard.

  • Mvp23100

The same people that downplay the win are the same ones had the cavs won wouldve been talking bull that was a show he put on I see Crawford got his fingers out his butt and got on a keyboard finally how bout those bulls

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

I’ll let you groupies celebrate a moral victory of nothingness. Oh, and the lone Heat fan too. Holla at me the next time you guys beat a plus .500 team. And before you mention the Hawks on Saturday night, Joe Johnson won’t be playing. Oh my bad, circumstances don’t matter. I forgot…

  • http://www.slamonline.com Jahmai

I expected Miami to win this one, but I was very impressed by LeBron, he looked like the 2-time MVP. It’s not easy for him to come back to that Arena, see his old teammates and the fans who just want to flat-out kill him. That 3rd quarter was spectacular, but that used to be normal for LeBron. I really hope he stays this agressive. I was kind of dissapointed he wanted to chat with his old teammates, I liked it more when he hit those shots and was laughing at bench and the fans, that was awesome. Overall very good performance by Bron, Wade too.

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

And downplaying a Heat victory over the Cavs would’ve been no different than you groupies downplaying a Miami loss in Cleveland: Oh it was a tough environment, LBJ couldn’t focus, who could perform under such hostile circumstances, blah, blah, blah. It would’ve been excuse after excuse, like it always is. Groupies talking tough after a victory over a crappy team, typical…

  • T-Money

Too bad I have to catch a flight today. Comments section will be hella entertaining. E: BC is right, 24 pts in a quarter is nothing special. Lets keep moving.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Jahmai

What’s even better than LeBron’s performance is that I feel we can all move on. It’s done. Cavs fans had their moment to show him their hate, now we can go back to basketball, because the cold hard fact are that Cleveland is stuck with a rebuilding basketball team and the Miami Heat have alot of issues to work on themselves. Dwade and LeBron still don’t look good playing together.

  • http://sdfklfds.com Jukai

As I watched Lebron shoot a contested running three-point jumper to cap his 24-point outburst in the third, I IMMEDIATELY thought “hey I’ve seen people score baskets before. Why do people say this guy is so great?”

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

Bron….you’re sounding silly again. I don’t make excuses for my squad. If they would have sh*t the bed last night, it’s on them for not being able to handle the moment. But, it’s a team of veterans that don’t seem to be rattled after playing together for a month. First night jitters in Boston? Sure. Perhaps the most vicious environment for a regular season game in NBA history? They did their thing. Jealous cats like you can hate on it, but they silenced 20,000 in-house Cavs fans and the “millions” of idiots that were hoping beyond all hope that they would fail last night, like your boy Mo Williams claimed. You were one of the millions. You feel cheated today. It’s understandable. Hate is weird like that.

  • http://stapledesign.com Spaceship Jay

Again, whether everyone wants to downplay it or not, last night’s game was one of significance. I think he should stop wearing a headband.

  • Jumpmanjay23

^LOL. Take ‘em to church T-Money…

  • JTaylor21

So you’re the Biggest Groupie, right? Aren’t you the one always puffing your bird chest out after every bull-sh*t win and heat loss. Whatch and see when the bulls lose to the celts tonight and trust that they will, you’ll be MIA and I’m not talking south beach or you’ll be somewhere drowning your sorrows in a barcardi gold bottle.

  • http://www.diimemag.com Royal

Lebron impressed me, he went out there and kind of tried to take the souls of the whole cav. orginazation and fanbase…props to him

  • Brian

I thought LeBron was great once the lead got into the 20′s. He’s a beast. Wade was leading them for the brief time this one was a contest. The other whipping boy Spo also helped LBJ out by sitting Wade often so he could do the things he is willing to do.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

Oh…Adam should have posted the video of one of like three Heat fans that kicked out of the game last night who kept screaming “We whipped your ass” to every tear of rage filled Cav fan surrounding him. That dude was gangsta.

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

Nobody in the history of the NBA has ever scored 24 points in a quarter against a crappy team before?

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

Definitely not one on the current Bulls squad.

  • mvp23100

The boy had the mid range game working but more importantly after the Dallas loss they seem to be coming together not because these 3 wins the team is start to look more fluent Bosh has it going and the other two are figuring out how to play together

  • Brian

What’s funny is that it obvious LeBron is way uncomfortable with the hate towards him, but he can’t bring himself to acknowledge that how he handled things was wrong.
He was tweaking when Sager was talking to him after the game. Watch his eyes.

  • http://twitter.com/BeezKneezy LA Huey

I was impressed with LBJ’s demeanor from the get-go. Swagger was on a hundred-thousand-trillion. I’ll enjoy Eboy trolling the hell out of this comment section. Good way to start my Friday =)

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

No E, that is woefully incorrect. All I wanted was for nothing bad to happen to Bron or anyone else. I got what I wanted. Miami beating Cleveland and Bron having a great game is what everyone else wanted. I could have cared less about who won and if MIA had lost, I would’ve talked cash-money sh t. Just like I am now at you and your bandwagon mates gloating over a win against an inconsequential team.

  • JTaylor21

No one “Special” has ever scored 24 pts in a qtr, you have to be special to do something like that and we all know that bron isn’t special.

  • Jumpmanjay23

I was almost right about my prediction last night. LBJ almost had 40…but he still sh*tted on the Cavs. LBJ made the Cavs and easily tore them down.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Jahmai

Speaking about the Bulls… Rose vs Rondo is always a must-watch, like Bill Simmons said, these guys are just natural rivals, you can really see it. Even Rondo’s teammates say he gets extra hyped for Rose. + Rose will be looking to bounce back from that ‘bad’ game against the Magic (5-13, 15 pts) and Boozer told him to stay aggresive, which will def. help since Rose was trying to get Booz involved against the Magic a little too much.

  • http://www.slamonline.com J

Beyond the win, its the composure and business-only mentality the Heat have shown and gained, in their most hostile crowd ever, that would help them in the long run. Hopefully this could ignite the fire all the way to their goal. As for my Cavs.. guess we can all breathe more freely now. I believe that the team’s focus (excluding Gilbert) now is solely on getting back. The official start of the rebuilding era. I like Byron Scott. He’s the right guy on the job. Keep him.. Anyways.. The Philo trademark.. LONG LIVE THE KING!

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

I like how the village idiot left off the “against a crappy team” part.

  • JTaylor21

^I know right, it is hard and impossible to be on point while being a Hater. I commend you bra because I don’t know how you do it, it takes a “special” person to do what you do.

  • http://www.slamonline.com J

Eboy: I think there’s no more gangsta than LeBron’s chalk toss in this game. That’s bada*s.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

J….there was only one thing left unanswered about last night’s game. Lebron’s mouthpiece. It distinctly had a red heart in the middle of it….and what looked like writing but of course TNT didn’t pick up on it. I was wondering if it was a homage to Cleveland in some way or something else.

  • Jumpmanjay23

Yep, no hesitation in the chalk toss. Like a big middle finger to the crowd.

  • logues

Eboy: im guessing u were counting urself when figured the over/under numbers? and that guy on the cavs bench is gangsta

  • http://www.slamonline.com J

E.. That was a Heat logo on the mouthpiece.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

No logues, you just threw yourself in that clown car though.

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

    Idolatry is a sin…

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

    You’re certain, J?

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

I think the Bulls committed that sin when they signed Carlos Boozer.

  • http://www.slamonline.com J

Oh and I heart Steve Nash.

  • Dagger

I’m no Bron fan, but last night was one of the greatest examples of an athlete rising to the occasion that I’ve yet to witness. Anyone who says otherwise is just fooling themselves.

  • http://www.slamonline.com J

E.. About the thing on the mouthpiece? I am. I’ve seen it there before. That’s a Heat logo. About the writing in it, I have no idea.

  • http://bulls.com airs

i dont know if this was already mentioned, but it seemed like lebron was okay the entire game with the chanting and stuff, even nodding his head to them. but at the end of the game when only freakin jawad williams came over to hug him and he looked to see the rest of the cavs walking to the locker room, he looked the most hurt.

  • http://blogs.thescore.com/tbj/author/hollymackenzie/ Ghost

Hey Cleveland, at least this didn’t happen to you guys: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QWxYCyijHps&feature=related

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

So I must be fooling myself for thinking having to get an IV at halftime of an NBA Finals game is more impressive.

  • JTaylor21

^So people can read minds now, looks like we have found another “special” person, B.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Jahmai

@airs, I noticed that too, when they were singing: ‘Scottie-Pippen!’ he was nodding his head while one of his teammates was shooting free-throws. He was having fun with it.

  • tRay

Who cares now? Dude handled his business last night every hater can downplay his performance and every LeBron slurper can ride his jock bottom line is that it was way overhyped in my opinion to begin with. Regardless if the Heat would have won or lost people are still gonna hate on this man(see BCrawford) lol jk dog just having fun but you’re right in a sense that this was just another game what he did wasn’t really that special on to the next one. Oh yeah and shout out to Eboy for putting salt in the wounds lol good ish

  • http://www.slamonline.com Jahmai

But LeBron really shouldn’t try to be friendly with his teammates, it looked really weird when he was talking to the Cavs bench, everyone was ignoring him, except for Boobie and I believe Hickson said some things, but still.. it was embarrasing to Lebron

  • http://www.diimemag.com Royal

Didn’t Mo Williams almost sign with Miami two seasons ago when he was a free-agent, but decided to sign with the Cavs instead? I bet he’s regretting that “Decision”

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

    Read minds?

  • JTaylor21

What does getting an IV in a finals game have to do with anythang? Please do everyone a favor and fed-ex package(without return shipping) yourself to the nearest asylum immediately.

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

    See 10:26, stupid…

  • http://www.slamonline.com J

@Royal: you’re half right and half wrong.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

I’m looking forward to Mavs/Jazz tonight. That should be a great game.

  • cklyn sazer

Lebron did the cavs and cleveland for that matter a big ol’ favor by not calling it “the no-brainer” instead of ” the decision” , dude had more points in two and a half quarters than the cavs starting FIVE did in 4 quarters. He is a man and he owes those clowns nothing, they still owe him for the last 7 years of excitement that they will learn to look back and appreciate one day.

  • JTaylor21

Oh Oh, time for the well-thought out insults, it probably took all of your 15 1/2 brain cells to think that one up. True definiton of being “special”.

  • Dre

You can show love and respect for someone and then go and take their heart out on the court. You don’t have to be an asshole if you don’t want to. If you want to that’s fine as well. I respect what Mo did and what Jamison and Anderson did. Lebron showed them love and then murdered them. Is he the only one that can do that. At the end of the day it is all business.

  • http://Www.fiba.cim Darksaber

Yup, as expected the main event is in full swing. E & JT, the vindicated vs. BC the downplayer.
    I betta get some popcorn.

  • http://itsahardwoodlife.blogspot.com omphalos

Just wanted to say, Lebron was being an a-hole hanging out in front of the Cleveland bench talking to Boobie Gibson before half-time. That STFU clip characterises how I felt about Lebron. Did he really have to bring up his “greatness” once again? They beat the Cavs, not a huge sign of greatness is it. As far as the Cavaliers were concerned, while Mo Williams’ mind was in the right place, he was forcing up terrible shots, had a bunch of turnovers and was trying to be the big man on campus, which goes against the team-first philosophy Scott was trying to instil. Bron got in Gibson’s head because he started throwing up bad shots too. I turned this off after the third quarter started terribly, because it was clear the Cavs were to emotionally fragile to make it competitive.

  • http://Www.fiba.com Darksaber

E: me too, 7 game win streaks on the line for both teams, i am truly afraid of what Deron’s gonna do to Kidd/Stevensom/Barea. They’ll probably stick Marion on him in the 4th.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Myles Brown

Gloating about a win over another sub .500 team and calling anyone reasonable or otherwise who has a higher standard an idiot is exactly why I dont waste my time in here anymore. Its a cesspool of immaturity, hyperbole and intolerance. If a decent discussion cant be had without immediate resorts to questioning someones intelligence or sexuality, then its no wonder this place isnt half the site it used to be. Enjoy yourselves.

  • The D Train

Co-sign Myles 11:05 comment. Perfectly stated.

  • JTaylor21

^Ahh Mr. Self Righteous aka The Dalai Lama blesses us with his presence. We must now bathe ourself in sheep oil and slaughter catle for his forgiveness.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

I believe the over/under number is still short by about 3.

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

LeBron had a great game. Performing like that under those circumstances was no easy feat. I’ll tip my hat off to dude. It was dope seeing him finally embrace that villain role. Or at least having fun with it.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Myles Brown

You obviously dont need my forgiveness and I certainly dont need your feeble attempts at humor. Lets be perfectly clear about something: the internet is much bigger than this place. I can and have found other places to have enjoyable and productive discussion. I dont have to be here. I want to be here. This is where I came from and I enjoy seeing like minded individuals (like AllenP) get similar opportunities through the same route. But Im not going sorting through ignorance, hyperbole, unchecked aggression and abject stupidity to find a good conversation. This place used to resemble an actual online community, now its just like a Tea Party meeting. For those who have actually been here for a while, ask yourselves, is this place better than it used to be? Is this kind of behavior really making anything more enjoyable?

  • JTaylor21

See, if there were more chaps like Enigmatic, the world and internet would be a better place instead we are stuck with the “Special” guy. Remember no heat fan is gloating or celebrating this win, so I don’t understand why people think otherwise.

  • Robb

I’m happy for Leborn, having a great game under those circumstances must be pretty tough. In the end everything remained the same: Lebron is one of the very best players in the league and the Cavs are the same losers they’ve always been.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

To be honest, I fully expected the Heat to have destroyed the Cavs. I was just happy Bron played with fire. That’s all I’m “gloating” about, I guess. BTW, I knew the blowout was coming because I held up my 2k11 season to play the Cavs/Heat game on the same day. Cyber Heat won by 24 in my game but Bron only had 22.

  • http://www.chicagonow.com/blogs/chicago-bulls-confidential/ Diesel

Eboy – just wanted to point out that the “scrappy” Bulls are ahead of Miami in the standings. As for the game itself, Lebron played well. I do think it helped that the team they were playing had a hole at the 3 (don’t know why) but he still desrves credit for going into that environment and nearly dropping 40.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Myles Brown

I didnt expect him to have that big of a game because I figured hed consider it cruel to his old mates. I thought Wade or Bosh would destroy them on his behalf. But he showed up and gave Cleveland a taste of what they were missing. Good for him. But I still long to see him do that against a respectable opponent. And on a frequent basis. As for Cavs fans, they seriously wouldve been better off boycotting the game. It wouldve made a larger statement and saved them the humiliation of that second half. Some of them honestly looked like they were going to cry all over again.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

Ok Diesel. A team with 3 more wins is behind in the standing. Got ya. Thank the heavens for division leader status. There’s going to be a 7-9 team in the playoffs in the NFL too who only made it cause they play in a horrible division. Unless you’re happy that they sit above the Bucks, Cavs and the Pistons. I won’t throw the Pacers under the bus, cause they may fu*k around and overtake them by Sunday. Plan the parade route now!!!!

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

I’d like to say that Lebron also played a good game in the first loss at Boston too. He was aggressive there too and kept the Heat in it until the end. Not blind love…just saying.

  • http://www.slamonline.com J

@ Myles yeah I remember that. I was looong loong time reader before I decided to post here few months ago. You, Eboy, Juks, Tad (where is he?), Bet, Z, Ben etc.. that days. I miss that as a reader. But you know times change.. well if not for a stupid guy here.. You know I thought The Seed was the worst..

  • http://www.slamonline.com Myles Brown

This was a different-ugh, I hate this word, but its appropriate-swagger from him. A sense that anything that happened would only make him stronger. That he knew he was capable of anything and planned on proving it. I think a lot of that confidence came from the opponent and thats why its just not overwhelmingly impressive to me. It wasnt bullying, but I need to see that confidence and production against everyone. Thats what I thought all the “mental notes” were about. That hed maintain that level of intensity against the entire league, every night and it would trickle down through the roster. Thats why people were talking about 72 wins. But if they shrink again against another worthy opponent then the talk will start all over again.

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

LeBron is capable of having great individual performances, nobody denies that. I’ve been watching that movie for 7 years. What has yet to be seen is if he can lead a team to a title(s). That is my expectation given the hype and the way the word great has been thrown around so much.

  • http://Www.fiba.com Darksaber

I was gonna ignore the 1st self righteous post by Myles, but another one lamenting insulting, aggresive commenting on Slamonline from a man who repeatedly got into scraps on here and regularly threw insults around himself?? (i stopped acknowledging/remarking on anything he writes after being on the receiving end a few months ago myself).
The hypocrisy drips from each sentence.
As for the commenting in general, from Greek guy’s antics, to Jukai’s love of rankings, to BC’s hate for LBJ/Heat 2010, Top 50 discussions that resemble hand to hand combat with letters and everything else in between, take it or leave it. Slam was lesser known when the Site took off, less regulars were here daily, thus no surprise a certain level of familiarity ensued.
Now Slam is a known entity in Basketball, more commenters, more personalities to deal with and no (visible) enforcing of the Rules stated below will lead to brash behaviour.

  • http://www.slamonline.com J

I lost track of Bron’s numbers. Did he have zero turnovers?

I guess the entire series vs the magic, Gm7 vs Celts, Gm3 vs Celts Gm5 vs the Pistons, and a triple dub in someone’s first playoff game don’t count as “doing it against respectable opponents”. Looks like someone is suffering from a bad case of selective amnesia.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

@ Bron….that was the most rationale thing you’ve wrote about the dude. And to be honest, I think your shortchanging fans of his if you don’t think the ones that actually know the game don’t think the same way about his potential legacy.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

Zero, J. I think that was a product of him not really playing facilitator last night. He was steady looking for his.

  • http://www.borntocompete.com Money$hot

LMAO at Ghost 10:35, yeah Cleveland fans are not the only ones to have there heart broken. But Cleveland fans did have The Fumble, The Shot, The Single, The Move, The Drive, and The Decision. I see why the fans are so emotional.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Myles Brown

I never started those ‘scraps’, but I certainly wasnt going to shy away from them, including any I got into with you. Ive never spent my time here initiating conversations by calling anyone an idiot, “homo” or anything else of the sort. Lets not pretend otherwise. Ive been called every name in the book, had my “journalistic integrity” (Ha) called into question on numerous occasions and I let it be known that Im not afraid to respond. SLAM was a known entity in basketball long before there was even a site and will continue to be. But dont fool yourself into thinking that because its grown into something incapable of fostering respect.

  • http://slamonline.com Nella

Guys – can’t we all get along, and “just continue the greatness” for ourselves?

  • PapaBearATL

Cleveland is like that dude that still has pictures of his ex girlfriend framed in the living room 5 months after they split up and still complains how she broke his heart, smh. The game went as expected, not as most ‘hoped’. A free-agent went to another team. Last nights game explained why.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Myles Brown

This talk from the same guy who says not to live in the past. Pick an argument and stick to it. And its not selective amnesia if Im basing my assessment of his capabilities off of the great things that hes done in those games, am I? Do you actually think about these things before you say them? Regardless, this is a what have you done for me lately league and we havent seen that same confidence from him on a consistent basis against those good teams this year. He seems tentative. I just want to see more of it.

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

E, the only thing that really annoys me is the blatant disregard for and the disrespect that people seem to have for those who’ve come before LBJ. If you’re not old enough to have seen the NBA prior to LeBron then say it. I can respect that more than people lobbing disses and discounting the accomplishments of those who have done the same — and even greater — things than LeBron.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Myles Brown

Basketball wasnt a known entity then.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

Myles saying he never started scraps is like me saying I never called Kobe a wannabe Jordan clone. That’s just untrue. Myles, you know I love the sh*t out of you and while you despise my persona here, I always respected you and your style. I’ve had a 100 arguments with you that deteriorated into name calling, insults, questioning of intelligence…sh*t I think once I told you to compare your pay stub to mine, but on the real, your knowledge of the game is 99% of the time on point and when you do write (which is too infrequent) you’re one of the absolute best in the SLAM fam. I’m not trying to rub your belly or anything like that for a thank you, I’m just saying. This place is STILL the place to talk to the most knowledgeable basketball fans in the world and while at times it slips into moronic levels, I’d rather have that issue here with guys who know what they’re talking about then on some other random forum that really doesn’t have the same level of knowledge, albeit poorly worded and too inflammatory at times.

  • tRay

I totally agree with you Myles this is a what have you done for me lately league. I don’t agree with it though but it is what it is. LeBron’s best bet is to shut all the critics and haters up by playing this way against EVERYONE. Just like when KG shut up everyone about him being old and now he’s having his best season since joining the C’s.

  • JTaylor21

If you were talking about what he’s done this season vs top teams then say it in your comments. Speaking of what has he done lately, uhm the two times they played the celtics he has gone for 30+ plus, it is wade who has actually struggled vs top team. So that lame argument holds no water. Also on the what have you done for me lately tip, weren’t you the one that said that the lakers get a free pass simply because they are the champs? Talk about contradiction at it’s purest form.

  • T-Money

Waiting for my connecting flight. BC is sal-ty. Ha. Stay mad. Did you get some of that resin powder on your keyboard? / Myles, you have a very good point about the insults that are being thrown in the comments section… the only problem is that the SLAM staffers are also at fault. / About the confidence thing… didn’t he drop 30+ on Boston in the very first game of the season? Since when does he lack confidence? He hasn’t played well in every game, for sure, but I don’t think it’s a confidence issue at all… more like reaching a level of comfort with a new squad. It’s not like he’s not been going in on these same teams and these same defenders for the past 7 years, cmon now.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Jahmai

Bill Simmons just wrote a great article on LeBron on espn. And I’ve said this a million times but doesn’t anyone else miss LeBron? Last night was the first time except for the preseason and the 1st game aigant Boston that LeBron looked like himself. Simmons said: I just can’t watch LeBron throw away a year of himself in his prime. LeBron needs to be no.1 people, Wade needs to be the sidekick, in all of the games Miami gets an offensive flow when LeBron dominates the ball and Wade’s on the bench. They can’t just both take turns, it’s terrible and ridiculous to watch. I hope Miami watches the game tape from last night and realizes that. probably will never happen :(

  • The Fresh Prince of Nsam

I was right about my predictions last night (should’ve bet that): MIA D.E.S.T.R.O.Y.E.D Cleveland, and the lead was almost 30.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

Bron….you ain’t getting an argument from me. I’ve said famously that I’ve seen Michael do, most of the time better, the same sh*t the kids today rave about when Kobe has a fantastic moment. That made me a hater too. It wasn’t questioning his ability to win (which he’s proven without fail) but individually, Mike would have took his heart in prime vs. prime battles. That’s just me. Lebron is a different animal. He’s a freak. He’s like a wrecking ball with point guard skills. He ain’t won sh*t, but he’s highlight worthy every night. That’s what made him so appealing to so many. Plus he had the “golden boy” rep (which as we all have learned wasn’t warranted). Now he’s on MY team and he’s sports biggest villian cause of a tv show? Damn, bro…can’t be nothing better than that. I’ll fight the bad fight all day long to support dudes ability to choose. I may have wanted to slap the sh*t out of Jim Grey and burn Lebron’s picnic table button down, but I couldn’t hate his ability to leave, regardless of where he went. To be clear, I always though he was going to the Knicks so I wasn’t even sweating him not coming here. When he did, I was shocked. True story.

  • tRay

    @JTaylor
I agree about the Laker thing. I’m a fan but I don’t think they should get a pass cuz they’re two time defending champs. That was last year that they won it’s a new season.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Myles Brown

Confidence, comfort. Essentially the same thing. Forgive me if I misspoke. He seems a bit tentative in his new role as far as getting his and allowing room for his mates to get theirs. As for any name calling or whatever else that I may have done in the past, again, Im not saying that I never did it. Im saying that it was never how I initiated a conversation. Ive always found it counterproductive, but will go there occasionally as a last resort. Im not trying to turn this into Highlights Magazine and all sit around and color with each other. Lets not forget the days of Tony and Russ or “Ed.” and their acerbic wit. SLAM has never been above checking someone. But I dont believe in responding that way to any reasonable attempts at conversation. Which is why despite anything that Ive said to any of you, Ive always responded cordially to any rational posts youve made. Basically, give respect and youll get it. Dont start none, wont be none.

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

Salty about what, T-Money? FWIW – I hope your connecting flight on Moron Airlines crashes and burns. Safe travels, BTW. Real talk…

And the Lakers are 13 and 6. The Heat are not 13 and 6. They shouldn’t have been dragged into this conversation.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

Jay, to play devil’s advocate, the Heat haven’t lost 4 in a row and the Lakers have played a pretty soft schedule to, so let’s just be fair and say that both teams have things to work out.

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

Good to see some things don’t change.
Anyway, Miami has to start beating good teams, and I believe they will. I think that it’s interesting that so many people are downplaying Cleveland now, but earlier this year the talk was about how good they looked and how the excuse that LeBron didn’t have any teammates was bogus.
You’ve got to pick a position. If the Cavs, comic sans LeBron, are a poo-butt team, then that means that Lebron for the past 7 years carried a Poo-Butt team to outstanding records, playoff success and once, the NBA Finals.
If the Cavs without LeBron are a decent team, then Miami just crushed a decent team despite having the hatred of hte entire sporting world on their shoulders.
You’ve got to pick one or you’re just being ridiculous.
Anyway, Wade still needs to pick it up, in my opinion. I don’t know what’s up with him.

  • JTaylor21

What’s funny is that the same chaps that are on here preaching self richeousness and talking about people slinging insults are the same ones that be on here talkin ish and calling peopele names. You guys are not the solution because you’re too busy being part of the problem. It must be a trend to talk the most sh*t then turnaround and be the first ones to cry about Slam going to hell in a hand-basket, oh the irony.

  • TyMo

Why aren’t we talking about the clever moments from some of the Cavs fans last night? “The Lyin’ King”? That’s brilliant. And also that one sign that said, “We’re not terribly fond of LeBron.” Sometimes, it’s the simple ones that are the best. Also, the “Scottie Pippen” chants were amazing. I give Cleveland an A for creativity.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Myles Brown

Im gonna go with the first one.

^^I give them a F for supporting their own team rather than booing LeBron all game.

  • T-Money

The Scottie Pippen chant bothers me because it should be an honor to be compared to Scottie, not something to ridicule. Life ain’t fair. The Delonte thing was also classless, I don’t think you ever go at someone’s momma – especially based on an anonymous, unconfirmed, denied by all parties internet rumour. Everything else was fair game.

  • http://Www.fiba.com Darksaber

Just saw the clip of the Cavs assistant coach telling LBJ to “shut the eff up” as Bron chatted with their bench mid-game.
The cautious, on the down low way he said it was toooooo funny. Angry but not wanting James to truly here what was said. Very amusing.

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

    Myles
Cool. That’s what I would choose as well, and what I think anybody with basketball knowledge should choose.
    Bryan Crawford
You often mention that Bron was in Cleveland for seven years, racked up two MVPs, but never won a title. You say this as a negative.
So, how do you feel about Steve Nash?

  • http://slamonline.com Krishan

I honestly thought the coach was saying that to JJ, not lebron

  • http://Www.fiba.com Darksaber

    Really, Krishan? Possible.

Unless otherworldly greatness has been associated with Steve Nash and I somehow missed it, I hardly see how that’s comparable.

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

Nah, he was talking to LeBron.
But, I wonder if that was a new assistant coach. if so, it makes sense that he wouldn’t be all enamored with Bron chirping all game.

  • JTaylor21

Do people really think that calling a player “Scottie Pippen” is an actual insult? If they or anyone on this site thinks so then umm the man upstairs just pushed on the asteroid aka earth destroyer button.

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

I doubt any of Mike Brown’s old staff remain in Cleveland. I might be wrong though. I also peeped a video of Mo Williams ignoring LeBron before the game when LeBron reached out to him. That dude needs a hug, FOR REAL for real. And I’d LOVE to hear “Scottie Pippen” chants if I was an NBA 3. Come to think of it, wasn’t that the point when LeBron actually acknowledged what the fans were chanting for once? He bobbed his head along to the chant like he was saying, “Aight. I’ll be dat!”

  • http://Bcrawfordsahater.com Nbk

Lol they beat Cleveland, it really means nothing. That teams putrid. But the whole “LeBron’s reputation is ruined forever because of the decision” movement is now a dying idea. The city of Cleveland basically cried publicly as they booed and chanted things, like “future hall of famer” – I mean “scottie pippen”

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

  • http://Bcrawfordsahater.com Nbk

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

Nah, I’m talking about when they jumped out fast at the beginning of the season. Not saying you were saying it, but it was being said around these parts.

I’m so sick of Eddie House. Glad dude lost weight, but geez is his fake thug act tired. I tuned in again near the end and saw him and Gibson jawing, then turned it back off. Don’t start talking trash when you check in at the end and are an afterthought behind James Jones.

  • http://slamonline.com rudy

I’m glad he went out there and demoralized them. All the shots that they have been taking at him have been ridiculous. Sometimes you just remind people that you are Lebron James.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

Remember when the Cavs were the 4th seed after 6 games? Yeah, me neither.

  • http://Slamonline.com Nbk

Truly there was, but then again we did also hear that the dude all this is about isn’t anything special. And that came from a guy that writes for Slam.

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

Sometimes folks use hyperbole to make a point. I’m going to give Bryan the benefit of the doubt and say that he didn’t truly mean that LeBron wasn’t special.
I think he meant Bron is overhyped and overrated, and it came out “He ain’t special.”
Like Dennis Rodman saying that Larry Bird wouldn’t have been a regular Joe if he was black. Clearly, that wasn’t true, but it was also clear that Bird’s skin color added to his hype.

  • http://slamonline.com tealish

Scottie Pippen is no insult to 99.9% of the basketball community, but don’t kid yourselves into thinking that being Pip isn’t beneath what the hype for his career calls for. That’s foolishness.

  • JTaylor21

AllenP, I understand you’re point but even though he meant he’s overrated and overhyped that still doesn’t make any sense. When are player puts up numbers comparable to only Oscar and MJ, you bets believe that people are going to be heads over heels over said player. I remember when people used to gloat over players putting up 25/5/5 then Bron came out of no where and went 27/7/7 in only his second year and put up 30/7/7 a couple times. He was doing something that hadn’t be done in about 20 years, so that doesn’t sound like being overrated or overhyped to me. There’s a reason why Bron commands such attention even though there’s a guy in La with 5 rings and it’s because dude is a once in a generation type player and his numbers (playoff included) prove it.

  • Hammer

And I think the “scottie pippen” chants started cuz jomario moon was sporting pips uptempo kicks. Who as tru b-ball fan would take that as an insult? Even reggie, kerr and marv said they would take that as a compliment… And much, much props 2 mo thug 4 ignoring lbj. Kinda reminds me of the ol skool days. U don’t c much of that anymore

@Eboy – I was out and couldn’t respond…but turn the clock back a few hours…3 wins more because you played 4 more games. You forgot to mention that second part. Thank heavens for a front loaded schedule of sub .500 teams is what you meant to say I think.

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

    JTaylor
Well, I hate to speak for other people, but from waht I gathered, Bryan doens’t put as much stock in stats as you do.
His contention is that skillwise Bron is underdeveloped and he’s skating on raw ability right now. Hey, in some ways that’s very true.
Then again, how great would Magic Johnson have been if he was 6’2″ instead of 6’9″? Would he have even made the league?
    What about Dominque Wilkins?
Hell, how great would MJ have been without his amazing athletic gifts which he rested heavily on early in his career?
Personally, I think Bron is way too raw and has failed way too often to be talked about in the greatest of all-time debate right now.
But, I still think he’s amazing, not just because of the crazy stats, but because I’ve watched him play. And despite the holes in his game, he’s still really, really sick, and he’s improved TREMENDOUSLY since he came into the League. I don’t think Crawford has given him enough credit for his skill development, mainly because Bron hasn’t developed the skills most basketball fans believe are the most important. Mainly a post game.

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

    Bryan Crawford
So, you haven’t noticed otherwordly greatness being associated with Steve Nash?
If you haven’t, fine, we have nothing to discuss.
Since I have listened to people trumpet Nash’s greatness since he arrived in Phoenix while he’s fallen short numerous times with amazing talent while racking up individual awards, that’s why I threw his name out there.
Is he a failure for not winning a ring?

  • JTaylor21

Great points Allen but like you said; would all those guys be great if they hadn’t taken advantage of their greatest skills especially during their prime years. When MJ was in his prime he was a attacking player first and a jump-shooter last, same with Nique and Magic. That’s what greats do, they take advantage of their tremendous athletic abilty when they are young and work on their weaknesses throughout the years. I think that people fail to see that Bron has become a way better shooter than he was 2-3 years ago, the same way he’s become a great defender after struggling his first few years. If a guy like Magic could be an all-time great even when he was past his prime without even possessing a great jumpshot, what makes people think that bron’s level of play would fall off a cliff as he gets older. Doesn’t court vison and knowledge of the game count as a skill?

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

So you’re implying that Steve Nash has been hyped at a level equivalent to LeBron James? Come on Allen…

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

So, the standard of “You must have a ring within seven years and with two MVPs” only applies to players who have been hyped as much as LeBron?
Because, in that case, the standard applies to NOBODY else.
Nobody has gotten the hype that LeBron has gotten.
I mistakenly thought you were somehow saying that in seven years all LeBron has managed to do was accumulate a gaudy regular season record and some nice personal hardware so he’s a failure. That’s why I mentioned Steve Nash.
If you’re instead saying that LeBron is a failure because he’s failed to live up to the immense hype bestowed upon him by outsiders, which he didn’t create although he did embrace at times, then you’re right. He’s a failure.
    That’s a helluva standard though.

  • Mvp23100

    @JTaylor21
Exactly some people criticize so much you miss the point his court vision is excellent but he probably uses his off hand more than anybody in the league Chase down blocks involve timing not just athletic ability he’s improved every year of his career I don’t know why people feel he’ll fall off a cliff

Bron played like the best player on the planet for the first time this season.

Great games by wade and bron, hasnt happened at the same time often enough yet in this young season. I agee with allen about nash. Hes was so incredibly overhyped. A back to back mvp with no ring is a failure. …. And myles, you cant be serious. Just the other day, I called you out, rationally, on you making up fakes disses from other coaches at phil jackson. What did you do? Ignored all my points and insulted my intelligence. You are quite possibly the biggest hypocrite on here. You talk trash, call people dumb, etc, etc. Then, you come with shtt like today. You need to take a long look in the mirror before you go beating people in the head with morals and civility. ……….. And a BIG cosign to betcats, why must bulls and heat fans take over every post? Im sure lal fans would be in there too if they had anything to boast about.

Emiddleagedman, I mean posts not clearly about either team. Id guess thats what bet meant too. Obviously, this post is about bron and the heat. And I suggested mo should retire at halftime. ……… I was very disappointed with ws vs suns last night. I wanted to see 135 – 133. Monta put on a show, and jrich did some nice things. Ive said it before, jrich plays like mike more than anyone else, including kobe. Jrich just has that perpetual bounce, nice footwork, and speed of movement with economy of movement. Attacking the rim on anybody. All this on offense of course, tho jrich tries on d. Hes a better shooter than mike.

  • http://www.need4sheed.com Tarzan Cooper

Ben, theyll be looking good against the kings. But, then again, thats what lal fans have said the last couple games. They were supposed to look good at home vs pacers, at memphis, and at houston. Nothing is guaranteed. Except bynum will be injured, thats guaranteed.

Oh Tarzan, youre a perfect example of what I was saying. I posted something you didnt agree with and immediately started talking crazy. So I said something back. Show respect, get respect. Show none…well you know what happens.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Myles Brown

You didnt call me out rationally, you called me a liar and unprofessional in another one of your crazed rants. I grew up in Chicago, practically inside the stadium, Ive followed Phils career quite closely and have no reason to lie about anything. But you wouldnt even consider the possibility that I knew what I was talking about and seemed more concerned with trying to talk sh*t to me. You acted like a child and I treated you like one.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Myles Brown

So for the last time, Ive never said I dont talk sh*t to people myself. But I dont start a conversation that way because its counterproductive. I go there when its obvious that its become clear that its the only way someone like yourself can communicate. And this isnt just about me. I dont come around here much anymore. Its about how everyone treats each other across the board. Theres a difference between fans giving each other sh*t and calling each other idiots and homos for hours on end.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Myles Brown

“Tarzan Cooper Posted: Nov.24 at 5:29 pm
Lmfao@ myles making up stuff to make it look like other coaches have hated on phil. ‘ colleagues all but said he wasnt that great of a coach and didnt even deserve his job or accolades.’ WTF YOU TALKN BOUT MYLES?!!?!?. ‘all but said’ means they didnt say, so can you read coaches minds? No coach has had a bad thing to say about phil as far as I can remember. With the exception being svg style remarks about phils trash talking. But that has nothing to do with anyone saying hes not a great coach and doesnt deserve his job. It must be fun for myles to just make up shtt like that. “

  • http://www.slamonline.com/ Myles Brown

That was your initial comment. You call that “calling me out rationally”? Really?

  • http://www.slamonline.com/ Myles Brown

And I dont need a response. It speaks for itself. Just making sure everyone knows that youre the one making things up.

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

Tarzan should change his name to George of the Jungle Cooper. Just as funny, twice as dumb.

there was waaaay 2 much buddy buddy from the Cavs players before, during and after the game…If your heart is not in it then neither will your spirit be in it. The Heat went there on a mission and the Cavs opened the door and told them to take what they wanted…plain and simple.

Since there’s no such thing as banning in here I’d really just like to say F*ck Jtaylor , nothing ever happens to these f*cking toolbags and it’s annoying as hell to come in here and read this dude break every single f*cking rule posted day after day and nothing gets done about it. I will continue to read this site daily which I guess is all that matters anymore, but I hate the idea of commenting on here now.And it sucks because there are dudes on here who are cool as sh*t. People I’m friends with on fb, I don’t even have many friends in real life some of the coolest people I know I met on this website and we got these idiots ruining sh*t. It’s disgusting and I don’t understand why no one in power around here seems to give a f*ck.

  • the nerve

i don’t know who b!tches more myles or crawford. “oh ido’t come around here anymore”. Cryin ass cats man. what working for SLam got that effect on yall? or maybe its a chi town thing. r kelley always crying. crawford always crying. MYLES BROWN crying now. Yall sposed 2 be bigger than all that since yall claim to be all “into it”. let me find out yall fake. sh++ got you up all night too? Cant do nuthin right at home either? N*gg@$ can’t handle the big time Slam.

    Bye!

Carlos Boozerplays no defense. I hope bulls fans are noticing the dropoff in team defense when he is on the floor. All of Noah’s fouls are the result of Boozer selling him out on defense. Get used to this people… But dude is nice on offense I will give him that.

  • http://Slamonline.com Nbk

seriously ridiculous “The nerve” that’s uncalled for. Comments like that is why the basketball iq on this site has dropped considerably in the last year or two. If you dont like someone don’t read what they write, responding especially without them even talking to you pushes people away from commenting. I’m sorry I stuck my nose into your business but it’s unnecessary, unimportant, and provoking to say stuff like that.

  • the nerve

1st of all i don’t read myles’ sh1t. and when they start actin like people are beneath them then they gets dealt wit. and I’m only tellin the truth. these dudes act like that they didn’t choose this life they in.
u think the new cats up here give a f*ck if MYLES BROWN don’t come “up here no more”? seriously, who the f*ck gives a damn? what is he threatening cats with his “absence”? gtfoh. New cats barely even know who he is.

Hey Teddy didnt u say that Will Smith is the goat?

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

It’s not an insult when its true…

  • JTaylor21

You can now add Briana to the growing list of hypocritical beings on this site that includes the likes of Mr. Self Righteous and the “Special” guy. They be quick to talk sh*t and throw insults like F*ck JTaylor (talk about being original) then turnaround b*tching and moaning about Slam turning into a mad house. Y’all are worse than those tea party clowns who are always screaming about wanting their country back when they are the ones destroying it. It’s like Steve Wonder asking Ray Charles to be his driver.

  • http://thetroyblog.com Teddy-the-Bear

The Fresh Prince, nerve. Get it right: Fresh Prince. Who is this Will Smith you speak of?

  • http://twitter.com/smileyoufckers Bryan

I sling mud to idiots like you, unlike you though mine insults usually make sense or have a point. My point was if as*holes like you can have free reign f*cking up what used to be an awesome place to have fun basketball conversation then f*ck it I’m gonna say whatever and see if it actually grabs the attention of somebody who can do something about it. If I get banned, it’s not like I commented on the first ever post up or emailed Lang when the page was a gray and orange blurb with some funny links on it. If being enough of a jerk gets somebody’s attention and it gets your stupid as$ banned I can live with that. You belong over at Dime or something, this used to be a place where people who knew the game came and enjoyed some fierce conversation and not “LEBRON RULZ KOBE SUKS IF YOU DISAGREE UR A GIRL OR GHEY” Which is really about the gist of what you have to offer. If that makes you feel proud , great. I can’t imagine how someone could actually take pride in being the laughingstock of an online basketball forum. Or being proud that there isn’t a single person who comments on this website that ever agrees with you or respects your opinion. You’re a joke on the internet and the sad thing is the internet is a place where you can be ANYBODY and you choose to be a tool. That doesn’t say much about who you are in real life, but if you’re this much of a loser and wannabe online I can only imagine you’re home every day wishing you were Lebron’s prom date.

  • http://twitter.com/smileyoufckers Bryan

“Mine insults usually make sense” might be the best typo ever typed by yours truly.

  • http://www.fiba.com Darksaber

Shia: don’t stoop to that level, there have been numerous commenters who broke “the rules” on Slamonline without so much as a ruler to the knuckles (as far as we know), i doubt that you going into Rambo mode against your least favorite guy here is gonna change anything.
Just my 2 cents, but i think Slam isn’t willing to commit to the extra manpower needed to police this place and a technical solution (word detector etc.) isn’t thorough enough. They still have some technical difficulties as it is here (e-mail/username switcheroo)

  • JTaylor21

Wow Briana that was such a moving and heart-felt speech. I don’t know whether I should shed a tear or do like you do when you’re feeling down; just pop in Thelma and Louise and gorge on some ice-cream.

  • http://www.fiba.com Darksaber

    Kyle Lowry had 28 & 12?? Houston shot 69% from 3pt range?
Yup, beating the Lakers does wonders to a slumping team. Nice little run you started there, Houston.

  • http://www.need4sheed.com Tarzan Cooper

Myles, my point remains. The only example you produced was jvg calling phil ‘big chief triangle’. Which is funny, fitting, and actually a complement. Jvg was saying phil is a master of the triangle offense. Odd how you brought that back up when you didnt reply originally. You told me to get off the computer and go read a fn book. I pointed out that you were also on a computer, and much more than me. I told you a book I recently finished reading, and again asked you how and when any coach said phil didnt deserve his job and accolades(your original point). You responded by insulting my intellegence; the very thing you complained about in this post. You still have never explained how any coach said those things about phil. Oh wait, you said they ‘all but said’ those things. Which means they didnt say anything. Hence, you were just making it up.

  • JTaylor21

Also since when does saying “f*ck you” ever been an intelligent insult or made any sense? At least if you’re going to try and take some shots at least use some creativity but that seems to be asking too much from a guy that would excel at being Soulja Boy’s ghost writer.

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

Will the lame punchlines ever stop?

“Illiterate nerve.” Wow Tarzan, I like that. Oh and nerve, if you wasn’t as stupid as you are, you’d know that Tarzan isn’t exactly one of my biggest fans.

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

If you’ll stop with the punchlines that aren’t even remotely funny, we might be able to work something out.

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

nerve is entirely too dumb to be taken serious. I mean anybody who shows up to a “basketball” website just to pick internet fights and not contribute anything remotely resembling what the purpose of this site is for has to be a loser of epic proportions. Even JTaylor — when he isn’t acting schizo or bi-polar — has some stellar basketball input at times.

  • the nerve

@ccrraaaawwFID: dat clown loves when u own him. thats why he cries 2 you. And i can b illiterate. Yall chumps know what im sayin tho. N real thorough punks know what it b w/tha klink man

  • JTaylor21

If I remember correctly, not too long ago someone was waving a white flag and threw in the towel pleading for a peace treaty but since the return of the “Eyebrow” and its power to bolster cat’s cofindence, dude has been feeling might brave lately. Like the saying goes; even the sun shines on a dog’s a** some days.

Please Crawfid give it up. I’ll go toe 2 toe w/ anybody on these boardz dealin w/ball. 2 be honest, yall material ain’t really bringin it outta me yet. • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

As far as I’m concerned, our peace treaty still stands, but I know how you get, so I say stuff to get you going. The impetuousness of youth is so easily manipulated. Plus, I’m an a-hole like that. By the way JT, in New Orleans, or Vegas, wherever you are, you ever heard anyone refer to jail as the “clink”? I haven’t. Ever. Oh well,I guess when you’re a fake a$$ internet thug from the suburbs, anything sounds cool.

and u know what tha clink is. Tarzan ESPECIALLY knows what it is w/ tha clink. He’ll never admit it though. im bout to pull his card in a minute.

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

No, I told you flatly that you weren’t a journalist even though you tried to front and like you were. And I wasn’t the only one that called you on that either. Dude, you’re too much of a lame to even be trying to go at me like this. I’ve been exposing you all night and you’re just too much of an idiot to know when to stop.

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

You can’t pull nobody’s card because I remember when moneyandthepower got on that a$$ and you went on this all caps rant, whining and crying like a little girl, and then you disappeared for months, tough guy.

  • JTaylor21

That’s cool, I’m with it also. On the clink ish, nah I’ve never heard of that, sounds like someone was thinking about the latest visit to the “clinic” with that one after spending time in the Bada Bing.

  • the nerve

HA! n u STILL tryin 2 see if im a journalist. u thought i knew u personally too. Tellin robinson that “i need 2 call u” and all dat. too much of a lame is wishful thinkin young blood. u say sh 2 get ME goin? U thinkin bout me partna. u know what else? U changed ur tone for a good while after i ate your food tha 1st time. i guess u gotta keep ur edge tho. srr if im this “journalist”. u know what time it is PAWTNA!

What? Clink is just an early 20th century term for jail. ……. Lol at me being ‘crawfids employee’

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

Actually, I was talking to JTaylor. Ain’t nobody saying ish to get you going. You’re just way too stupid to even be bothered with like that. And the next time you come in here talking reckless, like you you trying to check somebody, you will get dealt with, just like you did tonight. In a minute, clown… You can take the colorful wig and the red ball off your nose now.

  • http://slamonline.com tealish

    What’s wrong with you people?
    Seriously, all of you.
    .
BASKETBALL comment: I wonder if LA fans are going to be celebrating tonight’s beatdown of a clearly inferior team the way MIA fans were beating their chest this morning. Nothing surprises me anymore. But I’ll still chuckle. We’ll see!!

  • JTaylor21

I had to do it bra, it was too easy. Who is Mr. Robinson by the way? BC, you a fool for that one, got me dying of laughter.

  • http://www.need4sheed.com Tarzan Cooper

Also funny that he brought up will smith to teddy. Always a good laugh at mr dongs attempt at defending the biggest cornball of all time. But, I will give him ‘summertime’ thats all.

  • http://sdfklfds.com Jukai

Once again, my comment to Myles and Bryan: GET F’ING MODERATORS FOR THIS STUFF!!!!!!
I know it wont be hard, and I know people will do it probono.
I just don’t get the whining and crying and tears when there are several easy solutions:
1- Make SLAM commenting registration only, f-it, it’ll be easier to send out mass e-mails that way
2- Just like you let bloggers write for free, gather a few people who don’t cause sh*t and make them moderators. I betcha Eboy goes back to the old Eboy when he’s worried about getting his @$$ banned.
3- Ban guys like JTaylor. Yes, I agree with the dude a lot, yes I think he should be bad. Hell, even guys like The Seed say some outrageous things but they never call anyone out who disagrees with them, ever. Guys like The Nerve and JTaylor need to leave.
4- And this is more of a comment than anything— I wonder if Myles and Bryan are worried about putting moderators on the board because they’re scared of violating rules themselves?

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

Jukai, I don’t mind moderators one bit. As Myles has stated, we don’t start the BS that goes on in here. I am more than capabe of having a healthy debate on this site. But as you well know, my positions on LBJ have made me the least popular person here and I’m the guy that EVERYBODY goes after and I’m the recepient of a good majority of the insults and low blows that get thrown around in here. It’s cool though. For the most part, I let it slide and depending on the individual, if we have a history, I may respond in kind. But to your point,

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

    It’s a good one.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

I think what Jukai was tryimg to say is that Slam should have its on online clink.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

    Own

  • JTaylor21

Oh, yeah go after me as the scape goat when the guys that run annd write for this mag the ones starting and doing the majority of the sh*t talking, great idea there Shelock. You guys like to play the victim role a-lot and it makes me wonder whether y’all take classes on it or something. Y’all excel in throwing the first jab but don’t have the chin to withstand a counter punch, so you start crying for someone to be banned when they respond to your jabs. You can’t throw stones or jabs when you have a glass chin or live in a glass house.

  • http://sdfklfds.com Jukai

JTaylor: If everyone feels a certain way, and several old members have VEHEMENTLY gone out of their way to try and get you banned, perhaps you should rethink things just a tad…?

  • JTaylor21

Like I said before how can they get me banned when the writers are the ones throwing insults around? Riddle Me That. Does it make any sense? They are hypocrits because what they complain about is the exact same thing they do on a daily basis, I would understand if those guys were just mind their business and people starting attacking them without provacation, then they would have every right to feel the website has take a turn for the worse but when they are the ones instigating it, theirs and your argument holds no water. Maybe they should rethinks things a tad bit.

  • http://www.need4sheed.com Tarzan Cooper

Colonel klink was so stupid, they had a radio in the teapot. SCHULTZ!!!!!

  • Hammer

I agree w/jtaylor on this 1. There is a certain level of professionalism expected from members of the media. I have never engaged n a debate w/crawford or myles, but I do read their comments. They do make good points, but I am @ times surprised by sum of their insults, since they do write 4 the mag. Why even bother reponding 2 the insults? Save that 4 us “common folks” who don’t have nuthin 2 lose or gain on this website. 4 instance, the nerve. Ya’ll know he likes 2 instigate, yet u respond 2 him. The point n responding 2 him is…what? U know he doesn’t get it and will never get it so why bother

  • Hammer

Bryan even recognizes this w/his 12:01 comment

  • the nerve

like i said when they come up here acting like they’re jesus, i let them know that they ain’t jesus. yall don’t see me herb nobody unless them clowns go after “common folk”. yall can call me robin hood.

  • the nerve

aiight look, we all in this 2gether. we are just a dot in existence. ain’t none of us REALLY hittin on nuthin. we just live and let live and keep it movin. cats really think this is important. like jockeying for position in what? slam lore? all the sh.. goin on in this world, and we got guys who call themselves reputable actin like da opposite. which way do u want it? U da only 1s that can insult some punk cuz yall on slam n we ain’t? that is damn near communism and dictatorship. Especially when a punk like me owns yall and yall call foul after. maybe if i talk proper english, it will be easier to bear a “uneducated clink convict from tha burbs” shi**ing on you. let me know.

  • Mr. Robinson

DAAAAAAYYYYUUUUMMMM I missed a good one. Had my name called out got me feeling important.
I know that dudes don’t like “nerve” but, “the clink” is a classic. I haven’t heard that term in years.
@Bryan Crawford: This dude is jocking you like a groupie, man. I don’t know how y’all deal, man. I would get his email address and hack it.

  • Mr. Robinson

    You guys are crazy.

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

If claiming victories in wack internet beefs that nobody cares about is a source of pride for you, then you are a L-O-S-E-R.

wait wait wait, u r contradicting urself AGAIN. on the day i 1st ate ur food, u were running up here sayin how u dropped “nepalm bombs” on n*99as and all dat. wtf iz u talkin bout? We on da same level w/all dat victory claiming bs then. PARTNA!

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

If you come to SLAMonline to initiate comment section battles with writers because you long for attention and it somehow makes you feel important, especially when you think you’ve won something when you really haven’t, then you are a L-A-M-E.

  • the nerve

@the white boy: i don’t come up here to start battles w/ writers cuz i long 4 attention. i do it to expose tha fakeness by tha writers that runs rampant up here. n i never said that i won anything. i jus say that i read yall, and i expose yall.
i fuk witcha soul like ether.

The ironic thing about omars line, is when he goes at avon, he misses

You can’t come into another mans house and tell he’s put the couch in the wrong spot.

LeBron James had a big game against his old team – It was vengeful, spiteful and as usual he douch’ed it up. Thats LeBron. Why ISN’T Bryan Crawford allowed to say that? He had a terrific game against a very mediocre team that has no one to defend him. I’m sure he’ll play the exact same way a few more times this season.

Heat beat up nicely on the bad teams.

You would be fooling yourself if you didn’t think this game had alot riding on it. If LeBron did crumble against his old team we would be hearing it FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR…. He would have been measured by that one game (if he lost) for the rest of the season more than likely. What happened? He drove that stake deep into the collect hearts of the Cavs. He wasn’t about mucking around. He wasn’t welcome ‘home’ and he never will be… We could go on about “what if’s” till we’re blue in the face but this was one game obviously that he wasn’t going to mail it in…. (unlike the playoffs apparently). Kudos to him for walking into such an environment and succeeding. Let’s move on though hey? Everyone is allowed to look at LeBron and choose whether to like him or hate him. To back him or bet against him.

Wade, Bosh and LeBron went out on a limb to try win rings, and to win them NOW. They’re struggling alright and you know what?

This is the best scenario that could of happened. Wade, LeBron Bosh join forces and go 20 and 1 to start the season???? EVERY. SINGLE. GM. AND. TEAM. OWNER. would be very very angry. At least for the moment there is some parity. At least to start the season we have a story, a by-line. Something to watch. This year we’ve got the greatest ‘villian’ the NBA has ever season and for what it’s worth it’s probably given prime value to the NBA at the moment. The old saying, bad publicity is still publicity?? Well LeBron James and by definition the NBA is getting that. Are we going to be patiently interested in the NBA again after the lockout? You bet we are…but only really if the Heat struggle into the playoffs, flame out and ‘The King’ doesn’t get his crown.
