Allan Houston Facing Lawsuit

This “hoops guru” claims in the suit that Houston didn’t keep a promise to help him land an NBA gig. Or something. The NY Daily News reports: “Arthur Rondeau, a ‘peak performance coach’ who takes credit for guiding the sharp-shooting guard out of a slump during the Knicks’ run to the 1999 NBA Finals, says Houston broke a promise to help him get a job with the Knicks or other NBA teams. ‘In several instances, Houston, and/or those acting on his behalf, interceded to frustrate Rondeau’s pursuit of NBA-related peak-performance coaching work and to ensure that Rondeau did not receive favorable press coverage of his prior opportunities with Houston,’ says the suit. Rondeau, who used to work with motivational speaker Tony Robbins, says he started guiding Houston after the star guard noticed his work with Knicks big man Chris Dudley, a notoriously bad free-throw shooter. Rondeau claims Houston, now a Knicks executive, shortchanged him on credit for the Knicks’ playoff run and for helping him land a spot on the 2000 Eastern Conference All-Star team.”

Is he accusing Houston of sabatage or just not giving him props? I believe give credit where credit is due, but if he is suing for the lack ‘of props’ then this is BS. If on the other-hand Houston is somehow trying to blackball him from the Knicks or other teams, then I totally understand. Doesn’t sound like much of a case now, but maybe the evidence will make this more clear.
