Knicks To Buy Out Corey Brewer

The Knicks needed to make room for Jared Jeffries (whom they’re expected to sign when he clears waivers tomorrow), so someone needed to go, and Marc Stein is reporting that someone is Corey Brewer. Stein also claims that the Celtics, Spurs, Mavs and Thunder will all vie for Brewer’s services. He’ll need to be signed by tomorrow if he’s to be eligible for postseason play.

    RunGun are you retarded?

  • Omar

Don’t like this move, he certainly could help our D off the bench.

  • Bruno

if he goes to the thunder, now they’ll have thabo and corey to press Kobe

  • Jer Boi

this is horrible for the Knicks, Donnie Walsh said on the radio that he would eventually get a chance but no, and they gave blakman minutes suited up shelden williams but don’t even give Brewer a chance? Do they really hate defense that much?

  • MikeC.

I don’t mind this move. Jeffries is a very versatile defender who might end up starting at the 5.

  • RunNGun

Diesel: They’re buying him out to sign him for pennies on the dollar; then sending him to the D-League. Walsh has it all figured out.

Who has been playing the 2 for the Knicks?? I would think they would want to keep Brewer..

Haha – its a pretty risky move RunNGun but it could pay off.

    BossTerry – Fields has

Thunder or Miami in my mind. Miami need more off the bench but Thunder need Kobe stoppers.

  • nobrain

    what are they thinking

I think the Knicks can use Brewer but I can understand why they’re willing to let him go for Jeffries…they need size and defense, so I can’t blame them for this but Brewer could be useful…

  • TSmoove

Brewer is 10X better than Balkman will ever be…i dont understand this move…Jeffries is a 7 footer who doesn’t like contact…

  • Riggs

wow donnie walsh is an effing moron, renaldo balkman is garbage and yet he got more minutes than corey brewer? are you kidding me? (reggie miller voice), this is retarded to the utmost definition of the word. For jared freaking jeffries? did they not see the jared jeffries lowlights on youtube?

  • takashi

heat need to dump miller and get brewer

  • dma

LOL they cut corey brewer for jared jeffries. jeffries couldn’t get PT when the knicks were horrible. why would he sign now when they’re in the hunt for the playoffs?

^co sign.. I think he could really help this team, I’m not a Knicks fan, but didn’t like to see them horrible, think they’re heading in the right direction and Brewer is a scorer, people just didn’t really get to see him in Minnie..

  • ogog

why does everyone think that jefferies is better than brewer.?? brewer would do so much more coming of the bench for the knicks

  • kushkilla

The Bulls need to get Brewer, they cant expect to make a deep run with Bogans as your starting 2

  • D12FSU

Brewer > Jeffries imo for now and the future. This kid would certainly help any playoff team off the bench, orlando doesnt need anither perimeter player, but i could see brewer ending up in boston/dal/okc really anywhere, shame though i wanted to see him in NY

  • mike

    hello boston

  • Fab-5 Elite

Bulls need to sign Corey Brewer!

  • http://hibachi20.blogspot.com Moose

Boston would love him. Can ably defend the Wades/Kobes of the league.

  • http://jooo Max

    stupid knicks

  • Stephen

As a Boston fan i will love to see him in green. Another great defender at 6’9 to go in the bench with Jeff Green. And it would give the Celtics a very young, athletic bench. Imagine West, Brewer, Green, Big Baby, Troy Murphy etc.
