Chris Bosh Not a Fan of Kobe Bryant’s Extra Shooting in Miami

Bosh tells 790 The Ticket in Miami that it’s OK to cry after tough losses, and that the Heat should’ve shut the lights off on Kobe Bryant during his highly-publicized extra shooting session. From SRI: “On the reaction around the league to Heat players crying in the locker room: ‘Any player who says they haven’t cried over basketball, they’re lying … It’s emotions. That don’t make you weak. It doesn’t make you weak as a man or as a player. That just shows how bad you want to win. It really doesn’t matter at the end of the day.’ On Kobe Bryant shooting for an extra 90 minutes on the Miami floor: ‘I have no problem with guys wanting to get better, but if you think that any of us were going to be able to shoot on the Staples Center court for 90 minutes, you would be totally mistaken. I don’t think they should have allowed him to do that … We should’ve shut the lights off.’”

Who the hell keeps interviewing Chris Bosh? Nobody cares what he thinks!!

  • Justin

    Grinch Bosh strikes again!

Turn off the lights! No shooting! No Christmas! Muahahaha!!!!

  • AH21

Chris Bosh your one ugly mofo.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Jahmai

    Little too late for that.

damnn Jahmai.. i really taught i was first

  • MLK4Life

Bosh has no place to even open his mouth and say anything about a guy with five rings. You’re the third best player on an overrated team. Keep your mouth closed. LeBron really has DWade and Bosh gassed up since he’s gotten there.

  • TSmoove

Nobody cares what Bosh’s opinion is. I dont and i KNOW Kobe doesn’t…but he is right Kobe woulda shut the lights off himself is he saw anyone doing extra shooting after a game in LA.

  • ripslam

OK to cry after a regular-season loss? No. However he does have a point, I seriously doubt Wade or Bosh would be allowed to shoot around on the Staples Center court postgame.

  • Jacqueline Mitchell

Chris Bosh just needs to stop the damn madness.

  • Pharoah

Is there anything that Chris Bosh isn’t against?

  • http://nobulljive.com/ Enigmatic

Pat Riley really needs to gag this guy.
One stupid quote after another, after another, after…

  • D12FSU

Bosh should be the one in the gym for an extra 90 minutes shooting jumpers

  • Danny

I’m beginning to believe that Bosh is the dumbest guy in the league. The guy is a joke.

kobe shud punch ur lights out bosh

  • Miller31

Brilliant damage control by Kobe though. Instead of the media going on and on about the loss and about how “old” the Lakers are and how they can’t win as per usual, he goes out, does something that gets everyone talking, and it puts all the media attention on him and takes all the pressure off of the rest of his team.

  • Heals

Not even a Bosh fan, but somehow all these other comments are pushing me in that direction…

what’s with all these hater towards Bosh? He is right, Kobe shouldn’t be in someone else building trowing rocks in the ocean. Bosh’s mid range J is sweeter then Kobe’s. Anyone disagree?

  • Conoro

    Just leave, MUBWAR. smh

  • youngmuggsy

Slamonline commentors missing the point once again.

  • http://nba.com EJ

Shut the lights down if you want, Kobe’s 5 rings shine bright enough. Who’s Chris Bosh BTW?

  • Will

then turn the lights off chris shut up it was like a week ago

  • T-Money

Seriously, eff the new commenters. Go away. You guys add nothing to the conversation. This is starting to piss me off.

  • LLS

Maybe Bosh should spend an extra 90 min in the weight room so he can man up and start playing inside. He’s a joke.

  • http://slamonline.com AllBall

I’m one of the bigger Kobe fans amongst the regulars, but this is ridiculous.
Bosh simply answered a question, and his answer wasn’t that provocative.
    T-Money is correct.

  • Desert Storm

I can agree that Kobe gets some extra treatment because of who he is, and the shooting for an hour and a half was kind of uncalled for. Plus, let’s not forget the electricity bill. But, the crying thing. Come on Bosh. It’s a league game!! Being in 3rd place and losing a handful never requires tears. Kevin Durant was right…

wooow a post by Bosh and not a lot of haters. is 2012 soon?

  • Naiym

I rarely agree with this dude, but I feel him. On this one.. Shut the power off, go practice on ur own court.. Find a 24 hour fitness near the arena, but he woud had to get the Heck outta my arena.. Kobe would not have let that fly in L.A.

  • Brothaman

Not even a Bosh fan, but he was asked his opinion on the topic in an interview, it’s not like he said this out of nowhere. And he’s partly right, had one of the Heat players tried that at Staples, you would all probably be attacking them for it with more corny a** jokes

  • http://slamonline.com Ghost

  • Kas

Rest of world not a fan of Chris Bosh.

  • http://www.slamonline.com/ niQ

  • http://Www.slamonline.com B-more Mike

Do you think the ball boys minded rebounding 4 him? Bosh is right, he wouldn’t have shot extra J’s after the game @ staples cause he would have been stuffed in the back seat of a Lebrons car while he & D Wade tear up the L.A night scene

  • http://Www.slamonline.com B-more Mike

I think if Kobe saw Bosh shooting after a game @ staples he would probably ask 4 a game of 1on 1.

  • B-More Mike

Do any of you think those ball boys walked out empty handed. The Heat don’t have time 2 shoot extra shots cause the Clubs open @ 11.

  • mike

i agree with bosh. honestly if you think about it. shooting in the Miami arena, could possibly give kobe a small mental edge. just an extra chance to familiarize himself in different surroundings might make him more comfortable shooting . And if the HEAT meet the LAKERS in the FINALS, having KOBE be a little bit more comfortable is the last thing you want. every and anything matters, especially when you think about finals games being determined by 1 or 2 points. This is actually one of the few NON-DUMB things BOSH has ever said

  • http://Philosophervision@blogspot.com The Philosopher

Kobe did that on the Heat’s floor because… he can.

  • http://YouTube.com/user/Uncle05Sam Earl

Kobe Bryant Not A Fan of Chris Bosh’s Stupid Opinions.

  • Yesse

Chris Bosh is not a fan of anything.

  • http://Www.nba.com Gman

Bosh can whatever the F he wants.

  • http://www.nba.com Gman

Everyone who hated this are stupid or didn’t understand the context of this statement…or just dumb. lol

  • http://slamonline Brion

Funny how so many claim they dont care what Bosh’s opinion is after clicking on a story about what Bosh thinks.

  • B-More Mike

The heat ball boys wanted 2 finally see a superstar put in extra work.

  • http://slamonline.com LakeShow

Bosh is such a cute little f*ckin loser.

Brion those people are retarded fvcks looking for a story…kinda like the media.

  • Red Star

    What a clown!

  • cristi

Chris Bosh you try the shootaround the next time he vist LA Staples

  • http://nobulljive.com/ Enigmatic

Oh no, I care about Bosh’s opinion cause it’s always good for a laugh.
I mean, if you go and say “they’d never let us do that at Staples”, what’s that say about your team and organization?
Y’all ain’t got the bidalls to make Kobe get off the floor but the cats at Staples do?
So he’s either calling his ballboys, arena employees, etc. soft for not putting an end to it or he’s calling his team soft for implying they WOULD get run off the court for doing that at Satples.
That’s the way I see it, anyways.

  • http://www.walshsportsblog.com Darren

has there ever been a role player who’s been interviewed as much as this guy?

  • MiamiTruth

I saw the interview with the ball boy he was so thrilled about it. He said it was inspiring. You would never have to worry about most of those guys from Miami shooting after a game in LA. They would be out cheating on wives and girlfriends. In Bosh’s case, Boyfriend….

  • http://www.hoopsvibe.com/features/overdribbling chiqo

“It’s emotions,” Bosh said, his voice cracking as he choked back tears. “That don’t make me weak. It doesn’t make me weak as a man or as a player. That just shows how bad I want to win. It really doesn’t matter at the end of the day.”

  • elmaar

    cosign mike
I would not have let him shoot too

  • Red Star

LeBron and Wade said nothing but for some reason Bosh felt the need to comment on Kobe? Really! You know why they didn’t turn the lights off? Cause Kobe is a fn champ! Ask LeBron he’ll tell ya!! LMFAO

  • http://www.slamonline.com peter

so did Bosh just admit what everyone suspected, that he was the cryer?

  • robb

keep your mouth shut fake tough guy. Go to buy a new skirt or something.

  • ShaneFM

I find Bosh’s opinion to be amusing on so many levels. First, you have to understand the history between Kobe and Bosh. Chris Bosh was on the losing Toronto Raptors when Kobe came into his town and slammed 81 points down Bosh and his teams throat. So, because of that embarrassment alone, I can see why he would say something like that. But in the end, he’s a coward and an idiot. Kobe never played into the Media and Miami players crying in the locker room. Kobe always gave them respect and told reporters that it doesn’t mean they are soft and he had respect for their heart for the game. So for Bosh to backstab Kobe on this comes off like a little punk on the school-yard.

  • Coney Islander

Who’s Chris Bosh? I’ve heard of that Kobe guy, but I’m drawing a blank on this Bosh fellow.

  • Brennan

CHRIS BOSH is the most FEELER of a player in the NBA.

Who the hell do you think you are to say have comments like that on Kobe?! You’re such an asshole Bosh!

  • Enrique

This is the guy that took exception when Omer Asik got on the floor for a loose ball and spinned it as though Asik was trying to take him out. What a bum.

  • asgf

You relize even if he turned the lights out he would still shoot. ITS KOBE FOR FUKS SAKE.But i get cb4′s piont but your rep is already in the sh^thole. judging kobe in anyway just doesnt help. stop compalining like a B^itch sir

  • ClydeSays

Maybe Bosh should think “Hmmm, maybe that’s why he’s good…” Incidently, Ray Allen is in the gym for 2 hours of shooting before every game. Never heard a complaint about that. Ray’s shooting .501/.466 from 3 this season. Think about that Chris…

  • youngmuggsy

I can’t think of anything more tedious than shooting jumpers for over an hour. If I was an NBA player I’d only practice as much as my contract dictated. Screw this ‘dedication’ bulls**t.

  • Anthony

lol thats funny….. i would ov been cut the lights off

  • robb

@youngmuggsy if you were an NBA player you would be Tmac

  • Eddie

I hate Bosh and the rest of the Heat bu man Kobe fans remind me of Kobe, super sensitive, defensive duche bags. Then again most Kobe fans are from California, Douche capitol of the world. Oh by the way Michael Jordan is 10 times better.

  • gani

Whenever Bosh says something basketball related an angel gets its wings clipped off.

  • http://n/a Rnz

Well Boshie, 5 rings has its perks..

  • Ligzki

you can switch off lights at Heat Gym or any other gyms but five golden rings and photographers flash will illmuminate the Black Mamba’s jumpers. no one else gets that much attention. admit it, Bosh !

come ppl leave him alone, its not his fault bron and wade left alone at the club. hes just venting

  • jrok

@young muggsy you wouldnt get very far, extra time practicing is how you get better, i agree with robb u would be a worse version of tmac… talk about squandering potential, you cant
just coast on the talent you have in the nba, thats what separates the average from the great… winners do things losers dont want to do thats why they are great

  • http://slamonline.com Ugh

Why does anyone GAF what Chris Bosh says about anything?

  • Jef.

This dude shot 1/18 in one game this past month or so. For a supposed “big” to have that kind of performance… I think this dude needs to stop with the interviews and get his skinny ass on the court/gym.

  • Will Lee

cry baby, u better stay behind for some suicide drills

  • Justin

Seriously, you people should have to go through a normal IQ test and then a basketball IQ test to be allowed to post here. So much hate for no reason and it’s ridiculous. Jef., Wade had a similar game going something like 1-13 this year. I guess he should never talk either right? And Bosh, while technically considered a “big” hasn’t been used that way for 3/4 of the season, as he’s used a lot in high pick and rolls/pick and pops. Only lately have they started to put him lower on the blocks. And why do so many of you idiots think that players are just saying things out of the blue? They’re being asked a question! If the question is “What did you think of Kobe going out and shooting for 90 minutes after the game?” he’s allowed to give his opinion. I swear there are so many haters and morons on here that post hate just to post hate without having a damn clue of what they’re talking about

  • http://slamonline BossTerry

Cosign T-money 1:27… I’m not a fan of the Heat, and definitely a Laker-hater, but wheres the harm of staying after to find his shot? People stay after school to study, people work overtime to finish up some business.. I don’t see any problem here except Bosh trying to be a controlling butt-hole.

  • elmaar

@boss terry, you don’t understand, as already mike said – possible finals teams should not let each other do that for the sake of not getting too comfortable in the opposite arenas, in the end that might be that little difference – go shoot somewhere else

  • Justin

elmaar…So if Steve Nash and Grant Hill wanted to put in a little extra shooting time, that would be OK, simply because they probably won’t face them in the Finals? The Heat shouldn’t be worrying about a player they MIGHT face in the Finals. They should be worrying about getting out of the second round. That’s part of the Heat’s problem this year, assuming they’re going to get wins and cruise through the season and into the playoffs.

  • lockon

the crying over a regular season game is more silly than kobe shooting after the game. plus its kobe, there is no doubt why he is the black mamba. its him sending a message. and im not hating on the heat (wade is one of my faves) but that crygate is really dumb. makes the heat look more overrated and cant stand the pressure they attracted.

  • el_larsen

it s teh heat,so i guess crying after a loss is better than laughing

  • Justin

Why do all you idiots keep making it sound like they were blubbering in the locker room or something? There’s a huge difference between crying over a loss and there being tears of frustration after a tough loss, especially during a period where they had lost a bunch in a row. It doesn’t matter if it’s the regular season either. All it shows is that some of these guys care. Others show their frustrations in other ways like getting angry. Even MJ was prone to it at times, talking about how he had destroyed the chalkboard and some chairs in Utah. You people would say he was having a hissy fit and who cares, it’s a regular season game? If a player said that you would be all over him, saying how he should be traded, benched, why do we need a guy who doesn’t care about the games? Hypocrisy at it’s finest, all day every day on slamonline.com

  • http://www.slamonline.com Wayno

Why is it that every time Chris Bosh opens his mouth, he ends up sounding more stupid than the last time he opened his mouth? This dude just needs to not talk to the media…ever. he might as well have said “my mommy tells me that any player who says they haven’t cried over basketball, they’re lying … It’s emotions. That don’t make you weak. Mommy says it doesn’t make you weak as a man or as a player. That just shows how bad you want to win. It really doesn’t matter at the end of the day.”

  • elmaar

justin…my point was the lights must be turned off nobody should be let to shoot after games except the home team, in this case, especially kobe

  • Blackphantom

Chris Bosh looks like a human cricket

  • Wek

    Bosh your an idiot.

At least Kobe shows his emotions by shooting the ball and TRYING to IMPROVE his game more, instead of crying like a girl.

  • Clark Roberts

Well Bosh when you’re 6th all-time on the NBA scoring list, 5-time NBA champion, 13-time all star, 4-time all star game mvp, nba mvp, and guaranteed future hall of famer, you too will get to shoot as long as you want on a visitor’s court.

  • youngmuggsy

@jrok – You can easily coast if you’re talented enough, players do it all the time.

  • Kyle

Bosh who’s been revealed as a fake all-star this season, and somehow has 6 all-star appearances under his belt at age 27 is actually right about this. Staples Center wouldn’t let Dirk, Allen, Ginobli, or anyone they might face in the playoffs take extra shooting after the freaking game.

Now about crying after a regular season game, that’s pretty pathetic. In the playoffs, he’s going to look even worse(think about his first time there as a fake superstar.) He had games where he shot 5 for 17, 3 for 10, 5 for 12, 3 for 11 and finally taking shots went 8 out of 22! He was also out-rebounded by Kidd, and both Calderon and Ford had to both take 20 plus shots in a game because of Bosh’s fear.

Take away one 39 point game where he went 16-26, and for his career he shoots shooting at a clip of 40 percent. And brings 18.6 ppg…

  • Dave

They didn’t turn the lights off because they were witness to greatness. They got to watch a player they will be telling their grand children about! IF the Heat can get to the finals, then Bosh will get to lose to one of the greatest to ever play the game.

  • anti-crust

I was right in a previous post, Kobe playing “mind games”….Phil acting as if he was bothered, saying he would have preferred Kobe get some extra rest. Kobe shot in that arena, as if it were his own. The Miami Heat will jump each time they hear a ball bounce in that arena. Kobe made his point. He did it by himself. Not the three Amigos….Not Jordan, Pippen and Rodman…by HIMSELF.

  • Brian

    Bosh is all mouth

  • LandryLegend

Bosh is the biggest loser in NBA. He’s in Miami w/ a neanderthal swag. Dullest dude in the league. & did anyone see his maxim photoshoot thing on here?

  • Miami’s Own

What needs to happen is that opinions that would cause conflict shouldn’t even be published. Kobe is by far better than Chris Bosh. But the honest truth is even if he finds his stroke on the heat’s floor, it doesn’t mean that there will be an advantage. Shooting by yourself and shooting with contact defense are two completely different stories. That being said I rest my case.

  • http://www.slamonline.com/ everything

i respect kobe’s work ethic. but for kobe to text a media guy to cover this story, man, I DONT KNOW.
