Michael Jordan: The Bulls Have Six More Championships Coming

Believe it or not, it’s been 20 years since Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen led the Chicago Bulls to their first NBA title together. And last night at the United Center in Chicago, at half time of the Utah-Chicago tilt, the two Hall of Famers took turns on the mic.

When it came to talking about the past, the two had a lot of worthwhile stuff to say. When it came to the present and future, Jordan, owner of the Charlotte Bobcats, had this to say about the Bulls: “You guys are in store for a lot of other championships. If you look at this team tonight…don’t be suprised if you have six more coming.”

Wow. That may top Jordan calling Derrick Rose the MVP last week.

With the spotlight shining more and more on the Bulls, they’ve actually started to play even better, blowing out the Hawks and now the Jazz, now Jordan is going over-board but the Bulls are doing good right now.

The road to the NBA Finals goes through New York. Make it happen, Walsh.

Am I the only one who thinks this is inappropriate coming from the owner of another franchise? I mean, I know he’s a legend in Chicago, but the point remains.

  • Tristan Warneke Posted: Mar.13 at 9:09 am
Lol yeah i was thinking that omphalos.
But i suppose he was playing to the crowd?
It can be a bit tricky I suppose

Jordans heart will forever remain in Chitown so he will always have a soft spot for the bulls. I do believe that Rose is the front runner for MVP and the bulls eventually will win a title with a few tweaks in the lineup. They demolished my squad yesterday and they play both ends exceptionally well. Chemistry is something you can’t buy and they have it.

    Ummm

  • Tyquez Posted: Mar.13 at 10:13 am

  • Boing Dynasty Posted: Mar.13 at 10:18 am
    Kwame Brown.

  • jamal Posted: Mar.13 at 10:19 am
Luol Deng is also playing great Basketball this season too. In my eyes he is the Most Improved Player in the league.

  • IAMORANGE4EVER Posted: Mar.13 at 10:21 am
When I look at the Charlotte Bobcats, I will not be surprised if no championships come. Just a hunch.

  • AllBall Posted: Mar.13 at 10:32 am
Tyquez is about to start a war with that comment.
Rose is clearly better than Russ.
Rose is clearly better than Durant, right now.

  • JTaylor21 Posted: Mar.13 at 11:10 am
I wouldn’t say “clearly” that’s too definitive but he’s having the best season out of all three.

  • AllBall Posted: Mar.13 at 11:13 am
    Agreed.

  • swisscheese Posted: Mar.13 at 11:38 am
and let’s not forget that Rose and the Bulls are doing this with Boozer out again. Makes it even more impressive.

  • Enigmatic Posted: Mar.13 at 11:58 am
When I saw that live, I didn’t make too much of MJ’s comments.
He was at a celebration, surrounded by fans who love him and in a city he clearly still loves to this day, so he just wanted to say some nice things about the current state of the Bulls.
I woulda gone with “the Bulls are in good hands” but ok.
I also believe the Bulls can win some chips though in the near future.

  • Enigmatic Posted: Mar.13 at 12:23 pm
And by live I mean on tv, lol.

  • Showtime Posted: Mar.13 at 12:26 pm
Yea mike is get,a little overkill with it now.

  • Max Posted: Mar.13 at 12:29 pm
Than trade Capt Jack for Bogans or something, switch “all” the good players from the Bobcats to the Bulls for scrubs.

  • j.spadez Posted: Mar.13 at 12:50 pm
Everythings now is the Knicks, the Knicks the Knicks.Ya they have Carmelo, but last time I checked he don’t play defense either. Mike D’Antoni teams NEVER play D. Scoring gets you in the playoffs and defense gets you thru. Just look at his Suns teams if they’d stop Kobe here, stop Parker there(not include the suspensions) they should have at least one title. The East is tougher because of teams like Chicago but they get no recognition. Noah goes down they’re still winning. It’s alright though when playoffs come and they knock some of these so called “contenders” we’ll see whose “crying” then.

  • 6marjons Posted: Mar.13 at 12:56 pm
he’s probably just being realistic. you think the maloofs would say anything different? chicago are playing great and prime candidates to be in the running for the next few years.
they might not win six but who thought the 90s bulls would?

  • Yesse Posted: Mar.13 at 1:16 pm
Great times. I don’t think Rose will be as good as MJ.

  • JD Posted: Mar.13 at 1:29 pm
    well.. he’s been wrong before.

  • 2KInsider Posted: Mar.13 at 1:31 pm
Are they going to do this again next year?

  • Clydesays Posted: Mar.13 at 2:33 pm
Wait, so the Bulls win 6, the Heat win 7 or 8. I guess the other 28 teams can just hope to make the Conference Finals for the next 13-14 years…

  • Dacre Posted: Mar.13 at 4:09 pm
Hmm.. This sounds Like Jordan has plans for his 3RD RETURN.. and this time he brings PIPPEN with him! : )

  • Dacre Posted: Mar.13 at 4:10 pm
JTaylor21 – Would you say he is ‘clearly’ having the best season of all three?

  • Elvis Freshly Posted: Mar.13 at 6:13 pm
Those 6 wont be happening while the big 4 in boston are together lol

  • Enigmatic Posted: Mar.13 at 6:45 pm
^ yeah, cause the big 4 are really gonna be together for the next six years.

  • Eboy Posted: Mar.13 at 6:55 pm
    ……..

  • mike Posted: Mar.13 at 7:19 pm
Michael Jordan, a great predictor of true talent, kwame brown, adam morisson.. who else?

  • datkid Posted: Mar.13 at 10:17 pm
nah jordan has a point…but the bulls better hope the heat don’t ever get a point guard. or you know learn to really play together, which it looks like they have. so yeah.

  • Dacre Posted: Mar.14 at 12:08 am
yeah datkid… 1 – 5 in their last 6 games…. way to go and learn to play together.

  • airs Posted: Mar.14 at 12:18 am
    not 1, not 2, not… okay i’ll stop at 2. for now.

  • datkid Posted: Mar.14 at 1:10 am
except they beat the defending champs though…but we’ll see how they do against the spurs. besides i’m not sure you can win a series with only derrick rose carrying the offensive load for your team.

  • bnets Posted: Mar.14 at 1:35 am
knicks come here commenting cause they still are hurting from the Bulls?

  • Tweaks Posted: Mar.14 at 2:06 am
Give the man a break…he was only hyped-up. Any Bulls chip in the next 10 years would be accidental…….but could happen.

  • truthteller Posted: Mar.14 at 5:57 am
If anybody had said what MJ said (being the owner of another NBA franchise) he would have been crucified! But MJ says it and he gets a pass and people even try to justify his comment and make excuses for him? Wow! I guess MJ can do NO wrong!

  • Orlando Woolridge Posted: Mar.14 at 7:44 am
Nice attempt to make something out of nothing, truthteller. Over-react much?

  • Gman Posted: Mar.14 at 7:45 am
lol you guys love dissecting this crap too much.

  • truthteller Posted: Mar.14 at 7:57 am
@Orlando: I wasn’t trying to make something out of nothing. I was just observing how when someone is loved (in this case, MJ), he can get away with almost anything but when someone is hated (for instance, Kobe or TO), even the little things they do that should be nothing become something!

  • Orlando Woolridge Posted: Mar.14 at 9:33 am
I hear ya truth…it was early and I was cranky. It was good to see those dudes together again though; I really miss those days. I remember my dad got me tickets to go see them play not knowing that the team was going to be blown up. We witnessed Keith Booth and company set a record for futility in the first half again Tim Hardaway, Zo and the Heat from the 8th row. Good times.
