Michael Redd Plans to Return This Weekend

One of the most lethal shooters in the game, Milwaukee Bucks swingman Michael Redd has been sidelined for the past 14 months following knee surgery. Redd originally injured his left knee in January 2009, tearing the anterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments, and re-injured the same knee in January of 2010. Through the prolonged healing process, Redd’s continued to rehab and work hard, and is aiming for a return this weekend. For a guy who’s played in only 51 of 231 games the past three seasons, there will undoubtedly be several question marks surrounding his game and durability. From Nick Monroe: “Michael Redd went through 5-on-5 practice today & hopes to return to the court either Friday (@ NYK) or Saturday (vs. CHI).”

I had no idea he was still in the NBA.

If he can just knock down his open 3 pointers this should help MIL. They should give him plenty of minutes in hopes of making the playoffs or allowing him to put up decent numbers in order to trade him this summer.

nice to hear…although he’s been out for so long i forgot he was on his way back

Really hope he can make a nice comeback without too much trouble. Hope he stays healthy, and play some meaningful minutes out there.

    Time to earn those Bucks.

Skiles is on the spot out there, in my opinion. Just something about him…

If he’s healthy and this is the last year if his deal, I can see him signing on as a bench scorer for a contender. Can’t see him playing for Skiles…

he will end up with either the bulls, magic, heat, celtics, or thunder next season.. just watch

Too bad it’s too late for them to win the division now, like a lot of so called “experts” predicted before the season…

Welcome back Reddman… Might as well hand the trophy over to the Bucks right now.. J/k hope his long-range shooting touch isn’t still hurt..

Whoa, glad to see he’s back. The Bucks could desperately use his scoring right about now.

Redd, Oden and Roy are the few players who will benefit from a lockout. An extra year to get healthy-ish.

whens the last time he played?

I was a big fan of Redd before and was happy when he was included in the Olympics team in 2008. Its great to hear that he is coming back after such a long time out of the game. He might not have the same skills he had before all the injuries, but a great shooter never loses his shot. He will help the Bucks if he can knock down the 3′s from the wing.

i think he will be fine he is weighing in at 214 which is a pound less than his rookie year. he has also been a hard worker from day one. he was not born with that stroke he worked hard on it. many forget he was a second round pick with a very limited offensive game that did not include that shot when he was drafted. i expect to see a n above average role player by next season

When bucks chose redd over Allen, they never anticipated this huh. When redd is down for 2 years Allen went strong, won a champ, became all time leader in 3s

if he gets hurt again before the season is done then what?

  • True H

I really hope he stays healthy and continues to rehabilitate until next year

hope he stays healthy. think of the pay cut he’s going to have to take if he plays next season.

  • flipnoyce

It might not be too late for him to comeback to make a playoff push. They’re only a few games behind the 8th seed. I hope he’s doing it because he feels better and able to compete. We all know what happens when a player comes back to soon, their injury becomes even more problematic.
