Polladaday: Laker Stoppers?

The Lakers reside at third in the Western Conference, but between their status as reigning champions and their current seven-game winning streak, they still stand as the overwhelming favorite to come out of the West. Who can prevent that from happening?

Which Western Conference team could take down the Lakers?

I think there should be an option for no one, you’ve gotta give that to the back to back champs with a team with kobe and phil

    Lakers can take down themselves.

^ cosigned….the only squad even seeing the Lakers out West is the Lakers

BOTTOM LINE: as long as San Antonio has home court throughout the Western Conference Playoffs (and they will) the question should be, “Which Western Conference team could take down the Spurs?” Let’s just fast forward to the 2011 WCF: Lakers vs. Spurs with game 1 and 2 starting in San Antonio. The Lakers will be staring at an 0-2 hole heading back to the Staples Center for games 3 and 4. Can they overcome it? Will they go back to San Antonio all evened up? Will the Lakers “quit” if down to the Spurs 3 games to 1? I CAN’T WAIT to see these questions answered as the fly fishin’ Phil Jackson prepares to ride off into the Montana sunset.

@iamorange..what r u stupid. did u see the score of the game the other (in san antonio) or too busy getting spray tanned. The spurs might take one at home with home court advantage, and then lose 3 straight going back to la. learn some basketball

  • unrel

exactly.. i chose ‘other’.. because only the lakers can beat the lakers..

  • IAMORANGE4EVER

@urstupid: SMH, you must be a pretty successful guy who “works” from home being that smart. . . lol

How is TDuncan supposed to beat Gasol, Odom, and Bynum? Spurs have a chance but the Lakers have to be favorites, really against anyone, since pairing that front court with KOBE… I feel like Heat will upset Lakers (co- signing evryone who says only LA can beat LA), and the re-love of Lebron (since we want to celebrate successful individuals so much) is going to be nauseating. Boston matches up pretty good against LA, pre Perkins trade… don’t know with Kristic

Thers gonna be people who burned LBJ in effigy that pull a Lex Luthor in Superman 2
“Who me?!, I was with you the whole time!”

Face it, Coach Pop is a genius. Yes, this past Sunday the Lakers won a battle, but in the end the Spurs will likely win the Western Conference Finals. The fact of the matter is, the Lakers without home court don’t beat the Spurs in the Western Conference Finals, period.

May be the Spurs but i’m for the Blazers. I’m a huge fan and they play on the 15th of april and blazers are gonna throw it down.

None of those words apply there in that post…

    F*ckin stupid question
    Anyone *could* beat the lakers

  • http://Slamonline.com Caboose

Cosign Orange, Spurs with homecourt won’t be losing. And whoever still thinks Heat will make the Finals, please stop deluding yourself. They have a losing record against the other top teams in the East and an awful record vs .500+ teams to boot.

  • giogolo

if series goes down 7 lakers will win it until then im betting on the spurs.

  • oinestep

Wow all those votes for the Mavs…..really?? Ask Miami and Golden State how they do in the playoffs
