Timberwolves Deny Report of Kurt Rambis’ Imminent Firing

David Kahn doesn’t exactly say that Rambis’ job is safe, but denies certain details of a recent report that Kelvin Sampson will be the new coach in Minny. Oh, and Kurt Rambis is less than pleased with the report, too. From the Pioneer Press: “The notion of Kelvin Sampson is completely false,’ Kahn said, relaying his comments through Wolves media relations director Mike Cristaldi. ‘That report is not true in all aspects.’ … Wolves owner Glen Taylor, who has publicly supported Rambis and Kahn throughout the season, was unavailable for comment. Rambis said he heard of the report but had not read it and dismissed the prediction of his imminent firing because of the use of unnamed sources. ‘I don’t comment on things I haven’t read, and I never comment on things that cowards say,’ Rambis said before heading to the team’s charter flight to Oakland. ‘If somebody wants to say something and attach their name to it, that’s another matter. Rumors are out there all the time. Anybody can start a rumor, but if they don’t attach their name to it, they’re a coward.’ The report surfaced at a time when his team might be playing its best ball of the season. The Wolves (17-50) have won their past two games by an average of 23.5 points over Utah and Indiana, two teams battling for playoff spots. Rambis, however, is 32-117 with the Wolves and has struggled through a two-year rebuilding plan. In each of his first two seasons, the Wolves brought in nine new players.”

Kahn is crazy like a fox……among the guys doing the worst managerial jobs in NBA he’s easily top 3…..but for some reason I wouldn’t be surprised if things turn around in the recent future

Yes it eaquals more drafting of 5pg’s or 5 forwards!

Hire a triangle offense coach, draft 3 pg’s in the subsequent draft, keep 2 of them, both are dribble heavy guards, one is even a score first PG, the other won’t be in this country for 3 years and act surprised when the team struggles mightily…then the next season you add 3 sf’s (Webster, Beasley, Johson) who are all young and not a typical good fit for the offense your team runs. Oh and you also just added a PG this summer for 4 years just incase the other 2 young PG’s you have aren’t enough. Fire yourself you have done nothing that makes sense.
