Mark Cuban Hit in the Face by Fan-Thrown Object

Not only did he watch his team lose Game 3 against the Blazers in Portland last night, but Mavericks owner Mark Cuban says he was hit in the grill by an unidentified object thrown by a fan. Not cool, bro. From the Star-Telegram: “The incident happened with 6:56 to go in the game. During a timeout, Cuban drew the ire of Blazers’ fans and it was clear that there was some dialogue going on. It’s not uncommon for Cuban to interact with fans, but this was different. ‘Somebody hit me in the face,’ Cuban said after the game. ‘Somebody threw something and it hit me.’ Cuban was not hurt and said security was doing a good job of making sure the Mavericks were not in harm’s way.”

No matter how obnoxious any one is with their mouth…doesn’t mean you should be able to throw something at them. Or do anything that crosses into a physical interaction. I was at the King’s Lakers game last Wednesday and my friend, who can be an ass, was obnoxiously chanting (as he always does). Eventually, some lady grabbed his hat and through it down the stands cause she was pissed. How does that accomplish anything? It doesn’t. It just makes you an even bigger ass.

Upon further investigation Phil Jackson was detained for throwing championship trophies at Cubans face chanting “Cleveland will win one before you!”

i remember two years ago i went to a heat game with a really weird and strange friend of mine who can be really annoying if he drinks….after a couple of beers he started screaming that the heat should get “timmy hardaway in”….needless to say, we got more than one cup of beer thrown at us!

Cuban should know better than to mess with Portland fans… He deserved it! He was yelling at the crowd and pissing them off! He is lucky if you ask me… You don’t come to Portland, piss of Portland fans and get away with it… It’s not just possible

Cuban is the most enthusiastic professional team owner alive.

Come on Sergio Meadows these 20,000 or what Portland fans need to throw things at this one guy that always runs his mouth to much.
I mean isn’t it enough for you to boo him or chant some dumb stuff at him.
You said he deserved it. He didn’t throw anything but words at the Portland fans and you say this is justifiying Portland fans actions.
And you said he can be lucky… because he didn’t end in some fans trunk or what.
    Stay grounded!.

Oh boo hoo. Try playing a playoff finals in Greece. Pana and Olympiakos fans guffaw at your “fan-thrown object”.
Laserpointers in players eyes, THAT’s where it’s at.
    *sarcasm* btw.

Thousands of people, lots of alcohol, and there are bound to be a couple idiots who throw things. I was once hit in the face with a paper airplane at a game once.

As much as I admire Cuban’s enthusiasm and his making the Mavs a perennial Playoff team, that ‘fan’ did what any NBA head has wanted to do at one point or another. Thank you, Dirk.

I hate that this made the news, Cuban is an obnoxious fan, and this kind of thing happens to obnoxious fans at every arena. Its not cool that someone did this, but at the same time if he wants to sit in the crowd and be a fan he has to deal with the same sh*t the rest of the fans do and not go whining to the media when someone hits him with a spitball.
