A bunch of guys got a lot better this season. Who improved the most?

Who should win the NBA's Most Improved Player?

Kevin Love, definetly. I always knew the other guys on the list had it in them, but didn’t expect Kev to be this good.

  • Riggs

everyone on that list except for D.Wright just got more minutes to do what they have been doing before. So Dorell should win it for actually improving.

  • IAMORANGE4EVER

When in doubt, vote for Love.

  • http://slamonline.com The Black Rick Kamla

of that groupe I’ll go Dorrell Wright, we’d already known what the other 3 were capable of

Lamarcus. Show P-Town some love, no pun intended. Love got the All-Star nod. The least Lamarcus could get is the MIP. And I know the counter argument is that BECAUSE Love got an All-Star he should also get the MIP. But still Lamarcus busted his @as as well

  • neaorin

    Derrick Rose.

    Derrick Rose easy.

  • HAMMER

^Rose is gonna get the MVP. He’s taken care of

There are other players I would give consideration. Most of these players didn’t post too crazy number from last season. Lamarcus has improved sure. Love of course, but his team sucks. Derrick Rose, sure, but he won’t win both. So these are some players I’m looking at, playing for teams who struggled with injuries, or who went to the play-offs instead of a lot of critisism, or are showing soooo much potential:

    -Kyle Lowry
    -Jrue Holiday
    -Derozan
-Tony Allen (if you look at the last couple of weeks…Rudy who?)
-Tony Douglas (maybe even for sixth man)
    -Marcin Gortat
    -Marcus Thornton

Of course Love is the more logical choice, or Lamarcus. But all of these players were at times playing out of their mind. And players like Thornton and Derozan show too much potential to say they are just playing well on a bad team. I don’t even know if Love would perform this crazy on a good team. He maybe getting a lot of rebounds, but so is Zach Randolph.

My vote goes to Kyle Lowry.

i agree with Riggs.. but not for d.wright.. but his rationale

Derrick Rose is far and away the most improved player in the entire league this season.
But he’ll have to settle for the MVP.
That said, y’all already know how I feel about Love for MIP.
I’d say Wright has done a hell of a job, and also I believe Jrue Holiday deserves some consideration as well.

should be derrick rose, this whole we expected him to be great excuse is irrelevant. Rose improved more then anyone else, and that’s the award, not which player that you didn’t expect to improve, improved. And regardless, Kevin Love is not only doing what was kind of expected, his rate of production has not changed one bit since last season. MIP under the unspoken BS rules should be, Dorell Wright, Kris Humphries, and Darell Arthur/Tony Allen/Mike Conley. IMO

  • Anthony

derrick rose improved his 3 point shot…. and dats it….. he always was a pure scorer…. once he starts to pass alot more.. then mayb…….. L.A IS THE M.I.P hes caried the team to the playoofs this whole season

  • http://nobulljive.com Enigmatic

His 3 point shot…”and dats it”.
And 366 more points than last year.
And 33 more rebounds than last year.
And 150 more assists than last year.
And 26 more steals than last year.
And 23 more blocks than last year.
And 208 more free throws made than last year.
And a 10% improvement from the line than last year.
In one more minute played per game than last year.
And “hes caried the team to the playoofs” too.

How is this even an arguement.. Lamarcus Aldridge is the man.. Are you kidding seriously really?!?!?! LA average is 22 points per game not to mention February when he averaged 32 points that month.. He easily shouldve been an All Star.. Not saying he shouldve taken Love’s spot butt he got snubbed big time.. He is also shooting 50 percent for the season.. With Roy out for a while LA really took over and he really does deserve MIP

  • Kas

Love just got more minutes, I do not think his skills improved a whole lot. But I’m not saying he’s not deserving..

  • blakos

Anthony you just got told ‘Shuuush please’ by Enigmatic.

LA or Kyle Lowry imo. Or Rose but he will get MVP.

  • roybot

With gerald on the team and Camby back LA’s numbers have “settled” down these last few weeks because he doesnt need to carry the team anymore, but everyone should look at his numbers for the months of January and February and tell me hes not the most improved player this year

  • ogog

Love is just a massive guy thats getting more minutes..he hasnt actually improved, if he had improved his shot or offense that whould mean something.

  • add

dorell wright, because no one expected him to do that well at all. all the other guys were borderline stars.

  • inmypjs

Averaging 16+ points, 5+ rebounds and 3+ assists a game. He has set career highs in games played, field goals and three-pointers made, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks.

    Wright has raised his scoring average by a league-best 9.4 points, edging Washington’s Nick Young (8.8), Toronto’s DeMar DeRozan (8.0), Charlotte’s D.J. Augustin (7.9) and Minnesota’s Kevin Love (6.2).

But what might set Wright apart from the other contenders are some history-making numbers. He beat Jason Richardson’s franchise mark of 9 3pters in a game. Wright also ended the season with the most 3 point shots made in one season in history with 194, as well as the most 3-point field goals attempted with 516.

Wright would become the first player in the history of the game to score more points in his seventh season than he did in his first six.
