Shaq Can’t Practice, To Miss Game 1

Who really knows if Shaq will play again this season? From CSNNE.com: “Shaquille O’Neal failed a conditioning test this morning, and has been ruled out indefinitely by the Boston Celtics. Danny Ainge, Boston’s president of basketball operations, made the announcement this afternoon with team physician, Dr. Brian McKeon. ‘He has been making progress,’ Ainge said. ‘We tried to get him out there to practice today, simulate the game as much as we could. He’s not ready. We don’t know when he’ll be ready.’ McKeon said the trial O’Neal was involved in consisted of him running, a test McKeon acknowledged O’Neal had failed.”

    Good job Ainge!

Yeah, Danny, you were really smart to gamble on a 39 year old Shaq instead of Perk.

Don’t blame DA. Blame the illuminati. Boston’s done.

c’s don’t need him to shut up the knicks.
hope he ll be back vs the heat

  • C’s Fan Man

Shaq is the anchor of that defense, this is a huge huge loss. I hope we still have enough to stop STAT

Celtics don’t need him for the Knicks anyway. Just rest the guy.

    F8ck Danny Ainge.

i think this series people will see why they got jeff green. he lets them go big and go small, he will lock up people like carmelo who have size/athleticism (lebron as well) he is just as important as james posey was in the title year. im not sure how shaq helps against the heat though, that team jermaine and glen davis are more usefull with their ability to move their feet. perk for that matter woudnt make much of a diff either to the heat they are gonna beat or lose the the celtics regardles of perkins

  • bashmo

Boston will not lose. They will win it, I say in 6, maybe 7 games.

Boston will still beat the Knicks, provided at least one O’Neal is healthy. I still don’t understand why we traded Semih for nothing though, he was our version of Omer Asik.

    Adieu l’il warrior.

Celtics will be fine as long as there’s no more injury to the main core. Allen,Pierce,KG and Rondo! Shaq will be a big loss if he is ruled out. 20 minutes is still alot of valuable but oh well with or without I still like the C’s chances going to the finals!

Trading Perkins was maybe the dumbest trade of the decade, lol.

I think shaq has a partially ruptured achilles tendon but the C’s don’t admit it.
It’s hard because I liked the C’s chances of winning it again but I know after their last playoff run, where nobody gave them a real chance, that you can never count them out.

  • ripslam

@omphalos: Basically so they could sign Troy Murphy, who has contributed jack to the team so far.

  • Zabba

Let’s not get carried away, the dumbest trade of the decade was Kwame Brown and a couple other dickheads for Pau Gasol.

  • flimo

    Zabba, that was another decade:D

    F*ck Rogers sportsnet one!

  • S_kemp

Celts should trade Shaq for a pile of bricks….

  • ernied

wow! People have elevated Perk to Shaq like status. He’s a beast, not a Hall of Famer. Shaq, meanwhile, is not really needed for this series.

  • ernied

It’s up to Baby Shaq. JO had a Perk worthy game last night. Celts win.
