Shaquille O’Neal Ruled Out for Game 2

The Boston Celtics will have to continue to battle without the big man. From ESPN Boston: “As expected, Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers ruled out injured center Shaquille O’Neal (right Achilles/calf) from Tuesday night’s Game 2 against the New York Knicks. ‘[Team physician] Dr. [Brian] McKeon came to me about an hour [before practice] and said, ‘We’re not even going to put him on the floor; we’re not even going to try,’ said Rivers. The team tried to put O’Neal through a simulated pregame workout Saturday, but he experienced immediate soreness before being ruled out for Game 1. While there’s no exact timeline for O’Neal’s return, Rivers wouldn’t go so far as to rule him out for the duration of the first-round series.”

Hey support Mortal Kombat 9 tomorrow!!! SHAQ!!!!!!!! Dont worry the Cs can best New York without the big fella.

When the time comes I hope he dont injure himself doing absolutely nothing but run down the court wit no contact..Jermaine Oneal played big yesterday so maybe he can fill the void temporarily

No need to rush the big fella to comeback, they really don’t need him in this series. The Knicks are more of a jump shooting team than a penetrating one. Rest Up Shaq cause the C’s will definitely need you for some serious battles later on.

Doesn’t sound good at all when they say they won’t even try to put him on the floor. If he was able to run drills etc, and they held him back as a gametime decision, that’s one thing. But when he can’t even do basic drills – he may be out for a while.

Probably not going to help to put him in against NYK. It’d be smart to just save him for the 2nd round even if he can play by Game 3.

I think they can take the Knicks without Shaq, but they are gonna need him against tougher teams.

it’s a good thing they still have plenty of good interior-defending big men, like kendr…oh nvm. if the C’s don’t make it to the finals and size is the reason they lose, i don’t think boston will ever forgive danny ainge and neither will i
