@Angel of Stern you got me

how in the world did pau gasol make any of these teams? that is an absolute joke, its just cuz hes a laker, melo and love got SNUBBED big time. cmon who puts these teams together the fan voters of los angles?

  • http://slamonline.com nbk

He should be above Westbrook for sure, like no doubt about it in the world. I personally would have had him over Manu but as I alluded to a couple weeks ago, i completely understand having Manu on the 3rd team. I think 1st should be Rose, then Chris Paul on 2nd, and Deron Williams on the 3rd. Kobe should be 2nd team and so should Kevin Durant. Dirk and Wade should be moved up.

  • angus

whoops i was so amazed that gasol made one of these teams i forgot to mention how shafted d-will got.

  • JTaylor21

The so-called “winner” is at home playing with his kids while the true 1st Team SG is getting ready for his ECF opponent. Wade again gets shafted by the media’s tendency to overrate players.

  • JTaylor21

AllenP, you do know that this is based on on the court production not who’s the better player, right? DWill by far is the better PG than Russ but Westbrook had a better season. It’s the same reason Rose/Russ were chosen above CP, CP is the better player but both guys had better seasons.

  • http://slamonline.com nbk

by the COACHES tendency to overrate players JT. The coaches also vote for the all-defense teams. showing that they clearly don’t pay attention to anything going on outside of their respective teams (coach’s can’t vote for their own players)

  • http://www.bulls.com Rigo Gonzalez

AllenP – You know I thinkg Williams is top PG in the L, but 65 games tho.
You don’t think him missing 17 games might’ve hurt him? Not to mention the backlash he got after supposedley running Sloan out of Utah.

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

Shaq made all MVP the majority of his career despite regularly playing 67 games. Look it up.
Deron was punished for the Sloan issue.
I don’t feel like Westbrook had a better year. I feel like he might have put up better stats.

Wade is second team because his team finished 1 win above Kobes in a confrence were the 5th seed was 3 wins above 500. But it should be painfully clear, even to Laker fans that Kobe was not the superior player to Wade that he has been in years past, but it is still close, and Kobe being the clear leader of his team at the 2G position apposed to Wades uncertain role for the Heat most of the year is probobly why the coaches gave the nod to Kobe.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Angel of Stern

Yeah, I had him and Westbrook on my third team but If i had to pick one it would no doubt be Dwill. I just couldn’t justify putting him ahead of Kobe, Wade, Cp3, or Rose. Also, mad props to Robb for not fighting an argument just to not accept being wrong. One of the first times ive seen that on this site.

Kobe leads the NBA in steals…
    … of the All NBA 1st teams nominations : 1st Tony Allen’s place and now D. Wade’s…

  • http://www.twitter.com/jtrain73 Jono

Kobe gets so many free passes it’s ridiculous.

  • http://www.scout.com zoom

Wow. Not sure I respect the coaches opinions anymore when it comes to evaluating players. They are faaaaaaaaaaaaar worse than fans voting for all-stars. This is shameful. No it’s not close, Dwade>>>Kobe. Paul>>>>Westbrook.

  • monkeyball

    And D Will > Ginobili.
Since Kobe is getting to the end of his peak years, it’s safe to assume that Wade and Lebron will share first-team honors for the next handful of years at least. I think in five years Lebron and D-Wade may pass Mike-Pip, West-Baylor, and Shaq-Kobe as the best 1-2 punch of all time.

  • monkeyball

    Or Bird-McHale, or Magic-Kareem…

  • Sparker

bosh had the same number of votes as bargnani. now that’s funny.

  • ali

    chris paul 3rd team wtf
he’s easily 2nd team this year no doubt

also ya wade first team over kobe agreed

  • http://slamonline.com Michael

    CP3 over Westbrook – der.

  • http://www.slamonline.com J

@joblo do you forget what mj said before he scored 63 points vs celtics? “i dont think one man can beat the celtics”

  • Eph da Chef

shout out to my boy Al but what about Joe and Josh

  • Ivan

the reason why kobe won over wade was because it won’t be fair if there are 4 eastern players and only 1 came from the west.

  • http://slamonline.com The Ambassador

    Kobe>Wade all day just saying!

  • monkeyball

    2006 Kobe > 2011 Wade. Sure

But 2011 Wade > 2011 Kobe. Be real people.

  • Pugz

For everyone saying Wade should’ve beat out Kobe based on stats alone you are stupid as hell. Kobe had better 3pt% FT% more apg less TOpg and single-handedly lead his team all season AND was injured. Wade played sidekick to ‘Bron, and if you’re going to try and say the Lakers would be as good with Wade in Bryant’s place, you’re smoking something. Kobe is better, plain and simple.

  • Cman

Westbrook has dominated every other point guard he has gone up against including Rose. I’m not saying he’s better than Rose yet, but he’s number 2 and only improving his game. Paul doesn’t have half of the talent or athletic ability needed to hang with Westbrook. Paul is a better distributor but OKC doesn’t need a distributor as much as they do another scoring option to compliment Durant.

  • http://slamonline.com Tae

Everything Pugz said. Kobe>>Wade all day

  • [alex]

I’m so amazingly sick and tired of the NBA’s favoritism of the big-market teams such as L.A. , NY, and Chicago. How IN ANY WAY AT ALL did Kobe have at all a more successful season than Dwyane Wade? Wade had better averages in pretty much EVERY aspect besides FT%, Wade’s shooting in general was WAY more efficient than Kobe’s, (check the stats), not to mention, Wade’s team is in the Final Four of the PLAYOFFS, while Kobe got swept in the 2nd round, while in the final game only scoring 17 points, and losing by 36. I’m tired of this. First, Wade was robbed of MVP in 08-09, and from that season on, has been robbed of the ALL-NBA First Team from Kobe. Basically, Kobe wins it because of his name. B.S.

    I’m a “company” guy.
    Great list. lol

  • flash

wade always gets downplayed every time. it’s sad

  • blakos

    Wade > Kobe.

Wade had better stats. Was playing in completely new line-up with a below average coach. His D wasn’t great but then again neither was Kobe’s. Its clear that D-Wade has elevated Post-Season. Kobe couldn’t elevate himself or his Team mates. Kobe under utilised his post players.

Co-Sign AllBall regarding Westbrook, Co-sign AllenP for Deron.
