Man, so glad I was able to watch this at work.
Normally videos don’t play on my work computer.
Gotta thank CSN Chicago for that (shoutout to Aggrey Sam).
Yeah, that speech was great. No BS, just straight truth.
    Chicago’s proud.

VERY CLASSY!!! One of the most humble YOUNG ATHLETES that I have seen in a LONG time!! D Rose, sir, you are a true MAN among men!!! I hope many kids coming up in youth, middle school, high school and college ball take after you!!! Bring it home big boi!!

  • Kevin Jenkins Posted: May.3 at 10:15 pm
This young fella is the most humble athelete that I have ever seen. His mother has done a very wonderful job at raising him.Could’nt have picked a better Pro-ball player to follow than Mr.Derrick Rose.Congradulations buddy, you have most certainly earned this.

  • Shay Posted: May.3 at 10:27 pm
Well done rose. I can’t name anyone in this entire country that does that respect this guy right now. He be doing what he needs to do every night he steps of that court. you deserved it. thats speech just shows even more the kind of guy he really is.

  • Melissa Posted: May.3 at 10:35 pm

  • just bcuz Posted: May.3 at 11:42 pm
like everyone else said, chicago love this dude man. he rep us to the fullest and seeing him come from high school to NBA MVP in such a short time has been a pleasure

  • HAMMER Posted: May.3 at 11:46 pm
Damn. I know it sounds corny but this makes me proud 2 b a Bulls fan. He was very sincere and very genuine. Total class and humbleness. Congrats again Rose and well deserved no doubt

  • Rigo Gonzalez Posted: May.4 at 1:17 am
I love how at around the 2:33 mark he slightly stumbles and says “play with fast, um, passion”.
You were right on both counts, Derrick! Lol

  • Ryan Posted: May.4 at 3:18 am
    15

  • Shane Mac Posted: May.4 at 3:18 am

  • bar greengrass Posted: May.4 at 7:12 am
Congratulations! from israel we love you here

  • AllBall Posted: May.4 at 7:46 am
Congrats Derrick! Loved that speech. Is it possible for Derrick to be a better player than person? Considering he is arguably the best player in the world right now, I am not sure.

  • monkeyball Posted: May.4 at 7:58 am
Hopefully the first of many MVP’s. Rose and Durant are the future of the L. And what a great future it is. Please, please, please no lockout!!!

  • mj23 Posted: May.4 at 8:10 am
    and blake and tyreke

  • Jahmai Posted: May.4 at 8:48 am
When he almost started crying when he thanked his mom, my eyes got a little watery too. + don’t forget, before Drose said: ‘Why can’t I be the MVP of the league?’ He said: ‘Why can’t I be the BEST player in the league’. So we all know what comes next, and shame on the person who dares to doubt him again!

    25 not 15. http://www.slamonline.com/online/the-magazine/features/2009/11/original-old-school-nuthin-but-love/

  • fruizm Posted: May.4 at 12:20 pm
youre already my new favorite player after AI derrick….but this video just gave you like 2000 bonus points!! man, i hope the bulls and heat dont meet in the ECF because i wouldnt know who to root for!!

  • mj23 Posted: May.4 at 12:37 pm
so fruizm you like shot jacking PG?

  • mj23 Posted: May.4 at 12:41 pm
d rose is the worst mvp since AI in 2001 period shaq got robbed now lebron people like style like crossovers low % fg thats low basketball iq stuf and dont aprecieate the simple plays

  • airs Posted: May.4 at 12:54 pm
    …right mj23.
    know what else people like?
they like when a team improves by 21 wins and has the best record in the entire league.
with that “shot jacking PG” leading them when two of the teams key players miss over FIFTY games together.
while being top ten in two major statistical categories.
    IN HIS 3RD YEAR.
    low basketball IQ my ass.

  • mj23 Posted: May.4 at 1:48 pm
    yes and 44fg%
and he is chocking like crazy in playoffs i am fair if d rose playes great he playes great if he playes like a boom he playes like a boom the same think with lebron but lebron playes like a boom the same thing with lebron but lebron playes not to often like a boom 51fg%

  • airs Posted: May.4 at 1:54 pm
    choking??
they’re in the second round! he’s averaging nearly 30 and 7!
if anyone’s choking its boozer and the bulls defense.
did anyone, including bulls fans, expect a run like this, THIS year? i”l tell you now: no.
and whatever a boom is, drose aint that.

  • HAMMER Posted: May.4 at 2:03 pm
Its clear sum people don’t know the definition of “choking”, not just u mj23. What Nick Anderson did n the ’95 Finals was a choke job. Kobe Bryants 4 airballs against Utah n ’97 Playoffs was a choke job. I’ll even throw in my 2000 Blazers against Lakers n game 7. That was a choke job. Some1 who is averaging 30 and 7 n the playoffs does not constitute as a choke job

  • HAMMER Posted: May.4 at 2:06 pm
And I think mj23 meant 2 say was that Rose plays like BOOM!

  • fruizm Posted: May.4 at 2:09 pm
    @mj23..u got that right!

  • ZE35 Posted: May.4 at 4:42 pm
@mj23 is a joke. Straight up.

  • Marie Posted: May.4 at 6:27 pm
    So proud of you, Derrick.

  • Martin Posted: May.4 at 7:21 pm
Rose you deserve it so much
I am huge fan of you we all love you here in Denmark

  • kroq Posted: May.5 at 4:28 pm
i just got done watching old clips of bird, jordan, magic etc. and he’s got a ways to go yet…
but this was the richest thing i have seen in a while-
-and yeah, for all the haters, this trophy wasn’t awarded cause he’s the best player in the league. it was awarded because the nba is a profit driven league (kia in the background?).
anyways, much respect to derrick- makes me proud to be a chicagoan.

  • SchW Posted: May.5 at 5:10 pm
This is the reason why his uniform is the second i bought in my whole life! He´s humble approach to the game and life is literally quite the opposite evrything that is happening in these days and thats why we gotta luv pure gems and people like these…

  • bullsfan101 Posted: May.5 at 10:36 pm

We POned Indy now it’s time for the Hawks

  • Kid Dynamite Posted: May.5 at 11:26 pm
Wow, that was nice. A real superstar-no doubt.

  • Buschfire Posted: May.6 at 2:26 am
I’m from Toronto but am a huge D Rose fan. He is so humble. Speaks the truth, and has mad skills! Wish there were more people like him in the world, would be a better place. I rock his Jersey but still love the rebuilding Raps of course…

  • omphalos Posted: May.6 at 3:25 am
Did anyone else notice the guy introducing him said he was the 7th player in NBA history to average at least 25ppg, 7.5rpg and 4apg. Come on man, get it together.

  • omphalos Posted: May.6 at 3:32 am
Also, damn that was emotional, really tugs at the heartstrings, glad Rose and his family have found success.

  • kfactor2213 Posted: May.6 at 7:38 pm
Yeah you saw his eye twitch a little when they read the stats lol. But whatever he got what he deserved. Truly a great player and and great person. We’re lucky to have someone like him in the league.

  • True fan Posted: May.7 at 2:52 am
    D. Rose, my man you are one of the most humble and genuine player that i have ever seen; please don’t ever change and i hope youngsters that come to this league will follow your foot steps!!
