Jeff Teague to Start at Point Guard for the Hawks

After some indecision with Kirk Hinrich out of the picture for the time being, the Hawks are putting their trust in the second-year point guard to steer their offense against the Bulls tonight (and defend Derrick Rose.) Um, yeah, good luck with that: “Atlanta’s Larry Drew said that Jeff Teague will start at PG tonight.”

    Actually, Hawks fans have wanted Jeff to start since he was drafted in 09′ Our coaches just dont like playing young playes. We’ve wanted LD to be ifred this whole season because of it. All I have to say is get ready to bend over cuz Teague is a beast.

    Iife.

    jeff teague is actually really good i’ve heard..hopefully he can step up. but i doubt it.

    None of us Hawks fans think Teague is anywhere near Rose’s level. But he is good enough to where he should have been playing more. It’s not his fault he’s been stuck with two idiot coaches who don’t know how to develop young players. Don’t sleep on Teague.

    They needed Hinrich to guard Rose. Teague is in fact going to get lit up. I think there are some people with backup QB synrome down south if they think this guy is a starter on a 2nd round playoff team

    Dude, Kirk Got LIT UP the last two times we played Chicago this season! It was terrible, go look it up! Futhermore imma be back after Teague goes off tonight. We play better with Teague in the starting lineup thats a fact ask any hawks fan. Just because out coach is a hater doesnt mean the fan base doesnt have any sense.

    why is everyone hatin on jeff teague? Noone is claiming he is on the same level as Rose (or anywhere near it for that matter) but damn, dude has talent.

    Teague didn’t do anything to lose the game for them. If that makes you “legit” in the NBA then I guess I was wrong to say it was a big mismatch. Derrick doesn’t seem to have it going offensively right now, especially his outside game.

    I’m not terribly discouraged. If the Hawks manage to win this series shooting contested or ill advised jumpers then I will take my hat off to them. Hawks fans: Does Josh Smith always take those brain dead jumpers? He played stupid most of the night on offense…

    Holding the MVP of the league to 41% shooting and zero free throw attempts while putting up 11 and 5 yourself against the league’s best D despite having no plays called for you and deferring to the 2 guards the entire game is legit, yes.

    Played pretty darn well tonight. Teagues can actually keep up with Rose’s speed, to a degree–his footspeed is just as fast. Maybe this will work out to Atlanta’s advantage (having Teague guard Rose as opposed to anyone else).

    I though Teague did a pretty good job in that situation… watching Josh Smith play is painful though, why he can’t figure out to get low and be aggressive and just beast fools under the hoop.. I dunno man, there’s something bad about this Hawks team, it’s like they are too cool to work hard.. the only time you really see one their guys playing with fire in their bellies on defense is after they just made a jumper or something haha.. Horford’s pretty tough though, he seems to play hard consistently.
