Jason Kidd Has No Plans to Retire, Title or Not

At 38 years old, Kidd is trying to become the oldest point guard in NBA history to win a championship… and he’s not stopping there: “‘I know I’m not going to be playing 35 minutes a night, so I still have a lot to give back to the game and hopefully a younger point guard I can help develop and share my notes with him and make him a better player,’ Kidd said. ‘So, I still have a lot left to give to the game.’”

    You old head

Gary Payton’s my favorite point guard of all-time; Kidd’s cut out of the same cloth and I really hope he wins a ring. He’s arguably still better at managing the four other guys on the floor–with his active leadership and his instincts–than any other PG today. I feel blessed to have watched him in his prime.

Kidd will be a great mentor to a young point guard and a great coach in the future, imo, should he pursue that position. He’s also playing at an insanely high level right now though, so let’s just enjoy that right now.

I hope that he NEVER EVER retires!!

38 And plays in that level he brings me soooo much hope, thats real love for the game. I hope he finally get his ring

I also hope he never retires. It’d be awesome to see him come off the bench at 62 years old and injure himself before the play starts. Legends never die!

old pgs are great. they dont go balls out to score and make highlight plays. they make the simple play and knock down the big free throws and are drenched in clutch shooting. with alot of help defense they dont even need to be speedy. no such thing as a lock down pg in todays nba anyways

LMAO at kids acting like 38 is old. Jason Kidd has a LOT left in the basement. Heck, haven’t y’all heard, 40 is the new 30 . . . it just takes hard work and treating your body like a temple. Just sayin!

^^Very true, I mean Bernard Hopkins is the Light Heavyweight Champ at 46 years old! And that’s boxing.

No coincidence that he plays like GP; he learned the game from him when they were young.

JK is indeed a REAL HOFer in waiting. He is still playing at a high level and is willing to teach the youngsters. (Why do you think they keep him around during the Olympics and World games?) When he does retire I’m sure many teams with good pg’s will try to snatch him up. I would like to see him get a ring this year also. Not hate on the Heat just that much more love for the way Kidd plays the game.

This has to be one of the only times I have not read a negative comment on a post. Come on the mavs.

Any true head knows J Kidd deserves a ring more than anyone else playing in the finals. If the basketball gods are watching – it’ll happen somehow. J Kidd is a true legend and a first ballot HOF’er.
