Omer Asik Out for Season with Fractured Fibula

With a fractured left fibula, Omer Asik won’t be touching the hardwood for the next two months. Longtime SLAM writer Aggrey Sam breaks the news: “Source confirms Omer is out for the season. [...] What team described as “lower leg injury” for Asik is actually fractured left fibula, according to a league source.”

    Damn you hate to see this. Smh I think we can officially take the Bulls out of the Finals convo because without this guy their inside advantage over the Heat just got taken away.

    Ha ha at last comment . Miami will be a monster next year. When Rose goes to N.Y. thats when it’l happen kid.

    Rose isn’t going anywhere. People will call for all sorts of changes at the Bulls once this is done – but they are not that far away. One year on, they will have grown from the experience, Rose will be better, Deng will be better (he’s underrated), Noah, Taj, and Omer. They just need to get that 2 guard who is worth a damn. A scorer who can keep defenses honest and play defense. There are some free agents who could fix what needs fixing for the Bulls available this summer: Jamal Crawford, Caron Butler (though he’d have to play the 2), J Rich. Hold onto your bigs – they will be a major advantage as the mature.

    key inside presence gone, and its not like Boozer plays any defence. As a Bull’s fan our season is almost completely fubar.

    Wow…I’m not gonna say this was like Boston losing Perk in Game 7, but that’s a huge blow to their front court. That’s a tough loss…injuries are the worst way to go out, especially in the playoffs.

    Wouldn’t mind seeing Jamal Crawford come back to the Bulls off the bench. JR Smith would be pretty good too as a starter. Those 2 at the SG. Fantasy trade would be too bring in D Howard and J Rich from the Magic but that’s unlikely. Rich, Crawford, Smith all free agents.

    In 3 or 4 years Omer Asik will be like Mutombo.

    I really like this guy’s game..

    @House & 1982
    Are you guys serious ?
    He is one of the worst players I’ve ever saw this year.
    He totally killed the Bulls in game 4.
    He had two hook shots that barely touched the BACKBOARD !! That and the poor D.
    This is just great news for the Bulls.

    IF Asik we’re healthy, they’d have the frontcourt advantage. And IF Mike Miller were completely healthy…See how that works? Injuries are a part of the game.
